Really like eliZZZa's cast on method! However, have to correct her on one thing. It is not a garter stitch on one half. She has the knit side and the purl side of the stockinette stitch.

I really don't know how you figured this technique but it really works. Thank you. Hope you come back for more designs. 💚💛💚

I love this video and the idea of Moebius knitting. But I would love to know how to do the shoulder shawl in the picture on your video. Could you please make a video of how to do this shawl as I think it is beautiful and I would love to know how to make it?

Thank you for your easily understood tutorial I am looking forward to see if you demonstrate how to do the mobius with brioche as it’s so soft & cushy 😊🙏💖

You have an interesting cast-on using both knitting between old stitches. Does that double the total number of stitches? Thank you for demonstrating using two different colors. I would like to make a stripped cowl. So your video is a big help.

Thank you very much. By far the easiest way to begin a moebius shawl.

I'm new at this, but this method of casting on is far superior to Cat Bordhi's method in my opinion, at least for a beginner.
There seems to be a lot of confusion in the comments about counting stitches. The size of the finished loop (and thus number of stitches) is determined ONLY by the stitches cast onto the doubled needles. Once you pull one needle and begin drawing stitches from between stitches, the drawn stitches do NOT add to the size/width. So if your pattern says cast on 120 stitches, that's all on the doubled needles. The additional 119 stitches you will pull don't count. Confusing, but you'll see why as the pattern develops.

@BeStrixed nope, you cast on exactly as many as you need. If you watch the colour change part of the video, you see that you are knitting on both the top and bottom. Therefore, half the stitches you make in the cast on are on the top, and half are on the bottom.

Thank you for the great demonstration on how to create a moebius, by any chance do you have the written pattern for this video?

This may be a duplicate. New to this format. I would love it if the beginning was slower so I could see exactly how the yarn comes off the ball and winds around your fingers.

How do you finish (bind off) as normal or every other st. Some how?
Love this very easy to understand.

When I did this cast on there was a row of purls made around. Making a right & wrong side. I cast on and then began a K10, P10 pattern. The picture of the shawl didn't reflect that would happen. Is there a different Moebius cast on that doesn't leave the purl row in the middle of the work? Also you can only have width as far as the circle allows.

    thank you for the video
it is a really easiest way/
    i have a question,
if you cast on x stitches and add x-1 in the intervals you come up always with an odd
    .number of stitches
    how can I solve this

is there a way to make half of the shawl in one color and half in a differnt color?
-ex: purl side black and knit side white?

Elizzza, wenn wir die zweiten Maschen dazwischen stricken, koennten wir eine andere Farbe nehmen um danach so eine quasi Brioche oder doppelt-stricken Technik zu erreichen? Danke Dir.

  • @7slaper

First of all I love your video's, awesome!
The back side of this method though, is that it leaves a visible row of cast-on stitches on one half; like there is one half row of garter stitch while the rest is stocking (front or back-side).
    Too bad.

where can I get the pattern for the shawl?

  • @kimberly6357
    @kimberly6357 9 років тому +1

When you fold it in half is the circle folded as well or is it straightened out, cast on then make circle? I can't seem to tell what you are doing.

how much wool is needed. I am running short

  • @BeStrixed
    @BeStrixed 12 років тому

so the first cast on (over the two needles) you cast on only half the stitches needed? Because in the second step, when you begin pulling through those new stitches, you are doubling the number; is that correct?
Your cast on looks great -- much easier than the others I've used. Thanks for posting it :^)

I want to use this method; it looks much easier than the other one I have seen. But, Im not following how to get from 3:33 to 3:34. The circular needle went through the stitches on the right once, and after the fade transition, they were going through those stitches twice. Anyone have an insight on that?

You say you cast on 120 stitches. Is this with the stitches in between 120 or is it 240 stitches?? Thank you

I must be the only one who thought this was a bit too fast to follow properly, and had to keep stopping to work out exactly what shes doing. Compared to other tutorials, I think its a shame this wasnt slower and more detailed. Sorry, but had to give up on this, although I love the beautiful result, and I have since successfully knitted and crocheted the Moebius shawl!

How do I keep this moebius shawl from curling up when I am done. Also when I cast off should there be a stretching or should the edge be tight. Thank You

Am I kidding you about your captions? NO!. I just spent some time catching some of the hilarious captions on your video. From “the Palestinians” to “hysterical” to “cloning adults american fridge school” to “ninety testis teaches” . And there is “ after she around still rainy see that it’s through steam box mexican” and "have half cup two sticks"
I know you did not say that on your video. But somebody thinks you did and typed it as your captions. Get your money back !

Wonderful project, very clear and easy to follow.
I would like to know who is responsible for the captions on your English language video.
The captions are gibberish, total garbage. Totaler Mist!
If you are paying for this service you are being screwed. If it is “free” you are still being screwed because the text displayed is actually insulting to a hearing impaired person. No one reading the captions would have any idea you are talking about knitting.
