A video a long time in coming, but because the process of getting the controller perfect was also a long time in coming! Lots of people have asked over time where was the final version of the Rooflebox and its finally here, and for sale too which isn't really the point of the vid, but if ya wanna buy one well I certainly won't stop you, all the links in the video description. Rooflebox Teamed up with Furin Arcade and we got the Furin FRS 3 which is basically the most customizable leverless controller you will find, large form factor, complete control over everything the way you want it so lets talk about it!
Are you willing to share the button layout file for those of us that build our own custom controllers? Or at the very least would like to print it out to see if the ergonomics work for our body type? Thanks in advanced! I’m really happy you got your channel back and have found a perfect controller for you!
Since a few people in the comments already mentioned the price, Once again video is more a "journey complete" kinda deal than to sell you something but yes its more expensive, not sugarcoating that. Its also the single highest end product of its kind on the market. This isn't some cheaper parts controller that won't stand the test of time. Its massive compared to other leverless controllers as in full-arcade stick sized, quality parts, customization beyond anything else out there. its basically "premium" if you will.
Many congrats dude, it looks great! But dang does Haute not deserve the shade, the big Haute42 I got is legit the best controller I've ever had, and it won me over to leverless after not vibing with previous purchases, and it's lasted without part replacement way longer than any joystick ever has for me so far!!
@@sals6 ok fair enough, I don't think its a quality product personally and thats why I never accepted a sponsorship from them but ill change the language
@@fitzciaran if it works for you thats great, I edited some of the language on that post. Haute is a good entry level for a first time leverless user but for someone like me its not something I could personally back in terms of quality.
Ever since my arm started really acting up I was desperate to find the right controller to get off stick to reduce the pain and ive gone through legitimately over 15 variations of leverless controllers at this point over the years, and this final version is THE one. It certainly wont be for everyone, but its what works for me. Its ultra high quality, no cheap parts or build, big frame for a big boy, and I can finally play in peace without pain even in long sessions so im happy. Website and a playlist showing all the fun options are linked in the vid description if you wanna check it out!
Over the years and converting to the leverless layout, I appreciate the continued growth and changes to the different types. I am a fan of the split leverless layout now.
Here's me still using a PS4 controller Interesting just to see you using the controller, as often trying to wrap my head around how these work breaks my brain. I'm probably too old to re-wire my brain now for this, but super-interesting! Thanks for shairng
Bought a Furin in 2023 after watching your stick review vid. Absolutely amazing purchase. Highly recommend it if anyone is on the fence, especially since they've come out with newer models/options.
I see you're a 2x3 bro as well, nice. I may buy a replacement for my Furin mixbox. Though I'm currently trying the Victrix Pro KO with a 2x3 + thumb layout. Such a small difference but it just feels much better to know instinctively that what I'm feeling is HP/HK.
Are you willing to share the button layout file for those of us that build our own custom controllers? Or at the very least would like to print it out to see if the ergonomics work for our body type? Thanks in advanced! I’m really happy you got your channel back and have found a perfect controller for you!
I bought a leverless from Junkfood arcade. It stopped working 6 months after I bought it, even though it never suffered any truama. They wanted 50% of the price of the controller if I wanted to send it back for repairs.
Havent tried leverless for sf6, is it better than gamepad/joystick for charging characters (E.Honda) ? I did try my custom made mixbox and it was horrible, more suited to tekken IMO
Whats best is what you like, end of story. I'd honestly still be on arcade stick if it wasnt for the issues with my left arm. Like there certainly is some tricks for leverless like easy uppercuts as shown in the vid for SF6, but its not enough to switch a whole controller over
@Rooflemonger yeah generally i prefer pad (quiter when kids are asleep) but my main problem with that is honda's lvl2 which as you know is the goto for anti fireball (and now anti rashid), is it easier on hitbox/leverless with all those socd settings? I would consider making the switch just for that, i am really fed up trying it on a pad (or there is something very wrong with the sf6 input reader)
If i may ask, What is the exact model of those low rise directional buttons, and will they fit any leverless? where can I purchase just those buttons? I would really like to try those out on my current build.
I like the layout and that it's not as thin as a lot of the cheaper options but that's a bit pricey for my tastes. It's hard to justify when companies like Hatue have products for 100 dollars or less.
Once again not made to be a "sell" video but the price is because its basically the single highest end product of its kind on the market. Its not a cheap haute thats gonna break in a few months. I never accepted a sponsorship from them cause their stuff sucks flat out.
Nice an all but $400 when they’re others available for $80 is crazy I’d buy 4 haute42s instead for wear and tear and have backups before I pay that for a piece of acrylic and micro switches with artwork just my opinion 🤷🏾♂️
Well as stated the purpose of the vid isn't really to be a sell video, but the controller is higher quality than any of those cheap chinese ones you are gonna find out there and the quality is immediately apparent. If you wanna spend 80 bucks on something thats guaranteed to break by all means. I never accepted a haute sponsorship cause they are very low quality devices.
@@Rooflemongerunderstandable but what modifications makes it $400 when realistically they’re making there for under $100 a pop micro switches only cost so much as well as plastic panels A Brook board or raspberry pi but nothing they’ve done warrants a $400 price tag js

I get the price deters some people from the rooflebox, but (at least to me) this is a product for those who know what they want and know what they’re buying. Comparing this to a Haute product isn’t fair as they’re made with differing quality materials. Buying a Haute is perfect for dipping your toes into leverless controllers to see if it’s for you, but you can’t expect a cheap product to last long. You can think of buying this as an investment as you’re spending more upfront for a product you know will last a long time compared to something 1/4 the price. I’m not completely justifying the price, but you should at least know what you’re truly buying before comparing it to something else as an argument.
@@YoTerrako Luckily you can just buy the left and/or right top part, though they do cost a bit of course. And you'll want different acrylic and art inlay. So yeah, hopefully you'll like the layout you got.

Absolutely

Really happy you have a controller that works for you. I am also happy that you were assisted by a fellow Brit.

they are actually further apart than just about every other leverless, that is also part of the design, to have space between the hands
