- Hello Femily! Come with me to visit the Medical Residence at UCT. Medical Residence is a catering second-tier res which means that it is meant for older students. This UCT res is meant for health sciences students, which includes Medicine (MBChB), Audiology, Speech Language Pathology, Physiotherapy and Occupational Therapy. This res has so many entertainment rooms!! Around 100 people live here so the residents get to know everyone like a family.
Additionally, I included an interview with Medicine students so you get to know more about NBTs, life as a medicine student at UCT and more.

Of the following 5 residences for 2nd Year medical students which ones are for catering residences :
Clarinus Village
Rochester House
My Domain
OBZ Square
Med Res
or they all self catering residences? Can a non medical student stay in these residences?
Clarinus Village, Rochester House and Med Res are catering reses; Obz Square and My Domain are self catering. Med res is only for Health Sciences people, while the other four are for everyone. ✨

Thanks for the reply. Probably it would be a good idea, if you can create a Vlog on what essential items a First Year Student should bring when she joins a Catering Res at UCT.
When you do med do you have to stay at this res or you have a choice of going to others like ( Graca Machel ) ?
You don't have to stay at this res, at uct you don't get to pick the res you stay at they choose for you, when you're a first year, they can play you at any of the bad-mid reses like baxter hall, graca, luton etc. When you are 2nd-3rd year you are given more variety, you can be placed into obz, med res, roscomon, bettter graca rooms and yeah

yes this is. The trend is that you will be placed in a catering res. When uni starts, you are allowed to go the student housing office and switch to a self catering if they have space available ❤️
