The Gladbeck hostage crisis (also known as the Gladbeck hostage drama) was a high-profile crime in the Federal Republic of Germany and the Netherlands in the summer of 1988, during which three people were killed. The bank robbery and subsequent hostage-taking began in Gladbeck in North Rhine-Westphalia and ended after around 54 hours on Autobahn 3 near Bad Honnef with an attack by the Cologne police special operations command (SEK). In the aftermath of the crime, there was massive criticism of the behavior of the police and reporters and a social debate about the responsibility and limits of journalism was initiated. On August 16, 1988, the two main perpetrators, Hans-Jürgen Rösner and Dieter Degowski, attacked the Deutsche Bank branch in a shopping center in the Rentfort district of Gladbeck. Rösner's girlfriend Marion Löblich joined the perpetrators in the evening of the same day. During their escape, they took hostages several times and drove with them through northwestern Germany and the Netherlands. After a stay in downtown Cologne, the three hostage takers were arrested in the early afternoon of August 18, 1988 when the SEK seized them. While escaping in a hijacked bus, Degowski shot and killed 14-year-old Italian Emanuele De Giorgi. On the way to the crime scene, 31-year-old police officer Ingo Hagen died in a traffic accident in Bremen. During the final police operation on the highway, another hostage, 18-year-old Silke Bischoff, was fatally shot. The forensic examination revealed that the projectile came from Rösner's weapon. The behavior of the journalists, who hindered the work of the police due to their close proximity to the events, later sparked an intense public debate. Among other things, several interviews were conducted with the perpetrators, a press photographer acted as a liaison to the police and a Cologne journalist rode in the getaway car to show the perpetrators the way out of the city center. The Gladbeck hostage crisis is an important subject of investigation in media systems research.Nice reactiones,Greetings from Germany
As a Rammstein fan, it's so fun to see people reacting to them! Also a great video and I'd like to see more rammstein reactions. You should watch Ich tu dir weh, it's one of my favorite
I agree with Ich tu Dir Weh the live version in Madison Square Garden is so good. I also suggest Morgenstern, Reise Reise, Stein Um Stein, And Du Riechst So Gut all live from Volkerball, Feuer Frie live at Download Festival, and Mein Teil live at Hurricane Festival. Rammlied and Engel from Madison Square Garden are both incredible as well @@StaceyRPGReacts
It's awesome when they perform this song live and when he asks the questions tens of thousands of people answer him back in German crowd participation is on 10 for so much of their shows. Also, there's not a lot of bands that have 10/10 live shows and 10/10 music videos.
I was in Prag this weekend for their concert and finally was able to be part of the public answering "Könnt ihr mich hören?" with "Wir hören dich!" That was great!
I am not sure what the initially motivation for this song was, but we had in Germany in the 80ies a heist with taking hostages and than driving with a bus through Germany. And there was a high media attention, including interviews. The bank robber were more or less in control of the media. (Gladbeck hostage crisis) After that there was a lively debate what the media should do and should not do.
From the shows I've seen in person, the crowd participation for this song is way up there. Maybe even the most interactive out of all their songs. _"Can you all hear me?" "We hear you!" "Can you all see me?" "We see you!" "Can you all feel me?!" "We feel you!"_ Also the pop after "We want to see all of your hands." Loudest cheering besides the end of the show.
This was about the media's glorification of violence and the need for the perpetrators for that media validation and support. The irony was that the US premier for this song was scheduled for 11 September 2001, but was obviously canceled because of the ultimate media spectacle that day. The award the band is getting at the start of the video is the German equivalent of the American Emmy Award, honoring the best in TV.
First song of Rammstein I ever heard which made me get into them. Travelled to Majorca for a holiday many years ago, bought the Mutter album and they store let me listen to the whole album before buying
Ich will (I want) lyrics in English: (I want) I want that you trust me (I want) I want that you believe me (I want) I want to feel your glances (I want) to control every heartbeat (I want) I want to hear your voices (I want) I want the peace disturbed (I want) I want that you watch me carefully (I want) I want that you understand me (I want) I want your fantasy (I want) I want your energy (I want) I want to see your hands (I want) to drown in cheering We want that you trust us We want that you believe all of us We want to see your hands We want to drown in cheering, yes Can you hear me? (We hear you) Can you see me? (We see you) Can you feel me? (We feel you) I don't understand you
There are other small films from Rammstein which are fun to watch: Rosenrot with them as monks, Du riechst so gut with them as wolves and Haifisch without the fish.
Some of their songs are inspired by real events or crimes that have taken place in Germany. This one reminds me a lot of the Gladbeck hostage crisis (you can look it up, there's a Wiki article, but there are also many photos of the terrified hostages, some of which ended up getting killed), where the police couldn't intervene and save the hostages because of the media presence, journalists and photographers, but also bystanders were following the vehicles (a bus and a car, I don't remember which was first), and so the police just couldn't do anything without endangering people. But it's also about how, in general, the criminals are turned into "celebrities" by the media, and the ghoulish curiosity people have about criminals, with all those "true crime" documentaries, etc. This song is 22 years old, there were no smartphones, nor social media, really (at least not like today), even the Internet was rudimentary compared to nowadays. These official videos usually have automatically generated subtitles, they're not bad, better than some "translation" sites where the translations are really bad.
There was once a bank robbery in Germany where a young woman was killed! That was in Gladbeck at the time, where the media prevented the bank robbers from being caught. While fleeing, a young woman was taken hostage and later killed!
You should check out the video for their song 'Radio' which is about how important the radio was to them growing up behind the iron curtain in East Germany. Being able to listen to radio from the west in secret under the covers was a form of rebellion
This song and video were from 2001, on their 3rd album, I believe. It's funny seeing their keyboardist wearing a bomb for the whole video. On the subject of deep voiced singers... one of these days, you should hear Geoff Castelucci. He does lots of deep voiced song covers, and is also a member of VoicePlay, an a capella band. He can rumble like the depths of Moria.
The different between this video and Deutschland or Angst is about 20 years. So visualy there is a big differences. But still a story and still a message❤
Hello. Given how you introduce yourself, you might be interested in one of Till’s solo song videos (from a few weeks ago) ‘Sport Frei’: it seems to be about the physical and mental repercussions of being a professional athlete. In his youth, Till had been unable to take part in the 1980 Olympics (as a swimmer) due to an injury. Till’s singing in the chorus is fantastic.
Hi,another nice reaction, you definetely should check the live version of this song from some festival . This song is a game with the crowd Greetings from Bulgaria
this song is about the influence of media. its also at the same time an epic live interaction with the crowd (you have the crowd in the background of the video). you should watch a live version. many of rammstein songs you have to watch in different versions to get a full view. also i suggest if you want to see the vids with subtitles look out for the versions from "educated marine" and "bückstaboo". and i recommend the fan made video from the song "spring" that actually directs to bystanders. greetings
as always, I appreciate your analysis of RAMMSTEIN 👍 You really try to figure out the meaning of the song. I think I've told you before that you should really start with the old songs. I also assume that you will react to the song SONNE soon. At SONNE I would like you to do the official video first and then the live performance (SONNE - LIVE IN MOSCOW 2019)🙏. Arguably their best live song, since it requires a reaction from the audience to answer his questions in the chorus. "Can you hear me? - We hear you". "Can you see me? - We see you". "Can you feel me? - We feel you".
Hello Stacey, i am a big Fan from Rammstein. This Year were a big Controversy about the Band and their Behaviour. But a Rammstein Concert is not a Kinderjausen (means A Snack for little Kids). Without a translation of Rammstein videos, it's pointless. Rammstein videos have at least two levels. Image and sound often tell different stories. Even if Rammstein clicks well, you should add the translation! nice greetings from Germany✌
Furthermore, the interpretations of the texts are really fun with rammstein. a scope of freedom of thought that many other lyrics don't have. That's exactly what makes Rammstein so unique, among other things😉

Hey Stacey, maybe a little bit late... but you saw at the end of this music video some clip of music videos from Rammstein which were released before. The song "Ich Will" was released on the third Rammstein album "Mutter" in 2001. To start from the beginning: The band Rammstein was founded 1994 in Berlin - and released their first album "Herzeleid" in 1995. You could react to their first music video for the song "Du riechst so gut" (translated into: "You smell so good") (1995) - funfact there is also another official music video for "Du riechst so gut" in 1998, because they didn´t like the style they respresented theirselves as a band in the ´95 version. The songs from there first album sound much more aggressiv, because Till hasn´t been a singer before Rammstein and had his first vocal coach lessons in 1996. So the songs are much more in a spoken-singing style than later released albums. Another song form the album Herzeleid is "Seemann" ("sailor") which has also a music video. If you want to know more about the beginning of Rammstein write a comment, and I will give you more information.
2 of my favorite song\videos from them. Rammstein - Feuer Frei! (Official Video) This is from the movie xXx with Vin Diesel. Rammstein - Asche zu Asche (Live from Paris)
If you wanna get a perfect impression of Till's Voice you should check out the piano Version of 'Man Herz brennt' and the official Videos of 'Ohne dich' and 'Spnne'!😊
About the low notes...I hope everyone open to it finds a partner who will sing so deep that it rattles their soul. Inexpensive, environmentally freindly entertainment. Hugs+music=happy. Try it.
..one of their songs designed for live shows.. Check 2 channels with some of their songs re-uploaded with subtitles.. "Bucksttabu"and "educatedmarine"..
I just saw your Rammstein Reactions. Rammstein is great. But i noticed you liked the crowd participation in "Du Hast". If u really like Crowd Participation you need to react to Blind Guardian Bard Song in Wacken. It's insane.
Nice reaction. If you like low notes you should also check out "the sound of silence" by jeff castelluci. He's a bass singer and hits low notes that you never thought a human voice can hit. Sorry for not good english, i'm german😊
I just want to point you to the live version of this song. So much better then the original . Please check out the Volkerball Version. The crowd is intense and Ramstein is just awesome live
You are right about one thing there is no restraint with rammstein and no filter. Just recently till got somewhat infamous for fucking fans while on stage... and to be honest that was the most normal controversy... one time one band member wrapped himself completely in ductape to transport the... message of the song... and collapsed lets not get started on the flamethrower stage shows... To be honest Rammstein always has a double meaning in their songs so translations are advised but many of this meanings are hidden behind german double meanings of words and maybe even with translation hard to get without explanation.
I assume the inspiration for the song and the video was a true crime. In 1988 there was a bank heist in Germany (Gladbeck), after which the perpetrators fled and took hostages. During the escape, journalists conducted several interviews with the perpetrators and obstructed police work. After 54 hours of flight through almost half of Germany, the perpetrators were caught. Two hostages and a policeman were killed. The behavior of the journalists, who hindered the work of the police due to their close proximity to the events, later sparked an intensive public debate. In the video Rammstein seems to provoke media attention by the heist, not primarely to steal money. The line "Wir wollen in Beifall untergehen." (We want to drown in applause.) indicates it. The live version of this song (e.g. Ich will - live from Hurricane Festival 2016) shows a great involvement of the audiance which answers to Till's questions ("Can you hear me?" "We hear you." - "Can you see me?" "We see you" - "Can you feel me?" "We feel you"). ua-cam.com/video/6SXZN_yLJi4/v-deo.html (Live version with English subtitles) You talked about Till's low voice. If you want to hear a really low voice, I would recommend to listen to Geoff Castellucci either with his solo stuff, e.g. Sixteen Tons - ua-cam.com/video/fzlT80jQ3lo/v-deo.html or (showing his full range) in the acapella group VoicePlay where he is part of OOGIE BOOGIE'S SONG - ua-cam.com/video/EbxkOntz2SA/v-deo.html That's not as heavy as Rammstein, but also amazing in a different way.
While I am absolutely a Rammstein fan (yes I did play air drums through the entire song and I didn't miss a beat), if you want to hear low notes you should look up a guy called Geoff Castellucci. Beware though; here be deep notes.
Cute catmom Subtitles, Subtitles and again subtitles, they are so important for Rammstein songs ☝☝☝☝ till can show you a video of him walking in the park with 10 puppies and singing with a voice like he's confessing his love to you, and in reality he's talking about cannibalism, manslaughter, rape, drug addiction and so on 😉
If you like low voices and metal might I recommend Type O Negative? "Love You To Death", fx. Now they've really taken a page from the songbook of the Marianas Trench. Kudos for the reaction, btw.
Hey Stacey, I Love Your reactions! I'm very curious what you think of Ren, with his song Hi Ren. That song is now a year old and with that he has really become big. He is an independent artist with many different styles under his name. His 2nd album Sick boi was recently released and debuted at number 1 in the UK album release. I would love to hear your opinion.
If you want to hear a really low note, watch "Misty Mountains" sung by Peter Hollens and Tim Foust. ua-cam.com/video/yb2HR47npEU/v-deo.html The last note is so low , you may have to dig a hole and lay in it to hear.
Hellooooo. And how about a reaction to Japanese heavy metal? Specifically to a band made up of five girls, they are called LOVEBITES. I suggest a reaction to the song "Set to the world on fire", you will see how much talent they have. A big hug

Hey Stacey,
maybe a little bit late... but you saw at the end of this music video some clip of music videos from Rammstein which were released before. The song "Ich Will" was released on the third Rammstein album "Mutter" in 2001.
To start from the beginning:
The band Rammstein was founded 1994 in Berlin - and released their first album "Herzeleid" in 1995.
You could react to their first music video for the song "Du riechst so gut" (translated into: "You smell so good")
(1995) - funfact there is also another official music video for "Du riechst so gut" in 1998, because they didn´t like the style they respresented theirselves as a band in the ´95 version.
You have such a special look. Strong magnetism, charming in every sit
If you wanna get a perfect impression of Till's Voice you should check out the piano Version of 'Man Herz brennt' and the official Videos of 'Ohne dich' and 'Spnne'!😊
More Rammstein LIVE, you ve to see them LIVE
Diamant (soft ballad) or ich tu dir weh (heavy banger) come to mind when you ask for songs where he sings a little higher :)
Him opening his shirt with a target on his chest is amazing
You definitely need to check out Sonne from them. One of my favorites and great video to go along with it
About the low notes...I hope everyone open to it finds a partner who will sing so deep that it rattles their soul.
Yep it is what the main stream media does to this day.
Nice reaction. If you like low notes you should also check out "the sound of silence" by jeff castelluci. He's a bass singer and hits low notes that you never thought a human voice can hit.
Sorry for not good english, i'm german😊
Much love from Belgium.
Ramstein makes songs for a lot of movies.Like ferafrie.
Happy Holidays Gorgeous Stacey
Happy holidays!!
Strong criticism of media sensationalism and also our (the public) voyeurism. They play this song during this year's european tour btw ;-)
The kitty! The handomest of kitties!
Gief the kitty all the cuddles!
this video is like run lola run if you haven't seen that movie you need to watch it, many references but a little different take also - flipout
Don't forget Feur Frei - Live -
Definitely search for the versions of Rammstein's videos with english subs. Their lyrics so are good too!
Maybe she knows German
I love the liveversion😊
now imagine about 110k people chanting with rammstein.
here a litte video of the mass leaving. the best i could find for 2010 xD
(yes im old xD)
Love to see you react to the 2 Mein Herz Brennt videos, Sonne and Adieu videos.
Hello to joo joo 😼 thanks for this video ☺️

You talked about Till's low voice. If you want to hear a really low voice, I would recommend to listen to Geoff Castellucci either with his solo stuff, e.g.
Sixteen Tons - ua-cam.com/video/fzlT80jQ3lo/v-deo.html
or (showing his full range) in the acapella group VoicePlay where he is part of
OOGIE BOOGIE'S SONG - ua-cam.com/video/EbxkOntz2SA/v-deo.html
That's not as heavy as Rammstein, but also amazing in a different way.
There is an official "Making of" of "Ich Will". Maybe this will get you some insights of the meaning of this song! ☺
Ich will...i want !!! spoken like ëeeegggg will😅😂
..dieser Clip ist in Anlehnung an das Geiseldrama in Gladbeck 1988🇩🇪in dem einige Journalisten Interviews live mit den Geiselnehmern führten.
Good luck on your new channel. Helpful hint, react to Tool and Rammstein often. Youll see your subs rise immediatelt😊
BTW, do you know that the single and video were launched by coincidence on 09/11/2001?
Hi Stacey also check out Ramstein-Ramstein one of their first hits and a great live version song as well
There are no "washed up" athletes -- only athletes "currently undergoing rehab" !! 😹😹
Omg this cute Lazy Kitty
luv this video... to many reactors pass it by.
While I am absolutely a Rammstein fan (yes I did play air drums through the entire song and I didn't miss a beat), if you want to hear low notes you should look up a guy called Geoff Castellucci. Beware though; here be deep notes.
Cute catmom Subtitles, Subtitles and again subtitles, they are so important for Rammstein songs ☝☝☝☝
till can show you a video of him walking in the park with 10 puppies and singing with a voice like he's confessing his love to you, and in reality he's talking about cannibalism, manslaughter, rape, drug addiction and so on 😉
Beautiful cat! Similar paintjob to my dog.
Great interpretation, !
You really should check out their music video for Adieu as well.
Another good Rammstein song to react is Feuer Frei music video and Weisses Fleisch
Thanks, you are prenses ❤
Always thumb up from me.
😂what a beautyful cat.
"Sonne" please. Official Music Video version.
the Song was released before you were born . so interesting YOU can analyse it , xD love your tries
i'm sorry Stacy , i dont use telegram. I didn't want to attack you. maybe you misinterpreted my ironic comment.
If you want to hear a really low note, watch "Misty Mountains" sung by Peter Hollens and Tim Foust. ua-cam.com/video/yb2HR47npEU/v-deo.html The last note is so low , you may have to dig a hole and lay in it to hear.
Klassiker Lied 💪😎.
Hellooooo. And how about a reaction to Japanese heavy metal? Specifically to a band made up of five girls, they are called LOVEBITES. I suggest a reaction to the song "Set to the world on fire", you will see how much talent they have. A big hug
Be looking forward to your reaction to Mein teil live at the Hurricane Festival 2013 but check out the back story first
Its a darker version of La casa de palel. I wonder if this videoclip inspired the show.
sonne or enegel pretty good to :)
Pls, react to every song you already know but in live version, you gonna love it.
❤️
You WANT to hear OHNE DICH
