I'm glad that I grew up in the 2000s because I grew up with the ability to access music like this almost anytime and anyplace. I can carry around a small device in my pocket that holds all the music I would ever want to listen to. Sure the pop music of today sucks, but there are some gems out there if you look hard enough. Plus, you can go listen to older music like this whenever you want. People like to trash today's music industry, but the reality is that it has never been better.
Payton Gehm people don't have to trash today's music, it does that all on its own. Just look at the people who make it. Without auto-tune, lip-sync, and computer assistance, they are clueless. Few have any real talent with musical instruments. They have devolved to the point that childish antics and anti-social behavior have become more a part of their brands than the music.
I'm young, wild, and free, remember those days??? What great times and GREAT MUSIC we had back then...These kids today don't have a clue, what it was really like then to be young, wild, or free, times certainly were different for us..How LUCKY were we??? ROCK ON...
In 84 i listened to this tape everyday on my to college and I listened to Rush on my home. This brings back such awesome memories when I was free and just beginning on my journey of life. I'm so glad that I grew up in the days of real and awesome music. :)
I just turned 29 and I'm so lucky I had a step dad who was a rocker. Triumph was his favorite band and I just fell in love. It spawned my love for rock and metal.
Amy Birenbaum these guys went broke almost to put on a light show! Before they were making more than it cost lol. Triumph changed my young life! Positive messages of Magic Power and Hold On !
I got to see Rick probably 20 years ago at a small bar in KC/mo. My buddy reminded me the other night that $12 was a lot of money to pay to see a bar band. I somehow talked him into forking out the cash. What an amazing blessing to be a part of that night. Amazing talent.
Have loved this song all of my life.....How much more prolific can you be...Being a Disc Jockey,I know the Power and the Magic. I get tears in my eyes every time I hear this song....The feeling is to me as if someone threw a warm blanket on me...the best and most descriptive feeling I Have.........Comfort!!!
I saw them 3 times and thoroughly enjoyed each event. So many memories are triggered when listening to them. We were truly blessed to have grown up with these guys and other bands such as Styx, Kansas and Rush. True rock and roll, with lyrics that had meaning
Phenomenal band, and then some! TRIUMPH rocked my world growing up in Jersey back in the day! I remember going 'down the shore' with the top down, cranking bands like TRIUMPH, RUSH, LED ZEP, OZZY, SCORPIONS, KISS, etc., and just feeling and savoring the moment! What I wouldn't give to be young again...
Rick Emmet is a great guitatist and vocalist. Triumph was a band to be delt with. I loved all their songs. And admired Rick for being able to sing lead vocals and play lead guitar at the same time. Most people don't realize how hard that is.
This song describes exactly what music means to me and how it makes me feel. Triumph is my all time favorite band. I still listen to all their CD's often and it always makes me feel the music in my heart and soul. Thank you Rik, Gil and Mike. You made such awesome music together, I would give anything to hear it live again!er Hey Rik.... don't know the history, but remember all the wonderful music you made together.. do it again!
I've had the privilege of seeing Triumph back in the early 80's, and Rik Emmett twice a few years back live in concert. He is one of the most awesome guitarists, musicians, singer/songwriters I have ever seen in my life! You Rock Rik!!!
Great music, great writing, fantastic vocals, missing from the garbage they are cramming down our throats nowadays. Now this is music!! This band rocked! Wish I could have seen them back in the day.
mrlionel1965 I was fortunate enough to see the Thunder Seven concert way back when.....to this day, i still consider it to be the best concert i've ever been to. ....and i agree about the garbage of today....ugh.
blinderII ....and by the way, i just saw Rik Emmett perform tonight in Moncton, New Brunswick, Canada....it was awesome. Now i'm home looking up Triumph vids on youtube...lol.
My very first rock concert was this band playing at the old Saskatoon Arena downtown. What an awesome feeling and I still remember how they rocked that arena playing songs from In the Beginning.
I was born and raised in Lockport, New York, which during that time, there was a bar that called themselves "After Dark." I recall a number of times Trriumph playing there. I enjoyed their music since then.
Triumph is my favourite Canadian Rock band. Rush comes a close second, I must say. They've always been in the shadow of Rush, are very underrated and unknown. Rik, Gill and Mike FTW!
49 this year. And I'm still young, wild, and FREE. This song still picks me up after a lousy day all these years later. Does anyone know what these guys are doing these days? Miss this band.
i use to drum this song in my band till 1 day i fell asleep driving and got paralized in 85'. there went my dream of making it big....was on my way there.
One of the most talented group of rock musicians in the late 70's and 80's! I would love to hear such talent in present day; unfortunately, there seems to be a lack as image has surpassed ability in the world of what was once called rock n roll. I weep.
Triumph: I could be wrong, but it's always seemed to me that they were and have been one those GREAT bands that was/is completely under rated. Just some great talent and amazing music!!!
saw these guys in syracuse ny was the best show to this day ive ever seen i dont think they played one bad tune and the lite show was off the wall wish theyed tour again so i can enjoy the show like i did so many yrs ago thanks guys for the great show and great music its something ill necer forget
I use to put this album on every night before I went to sleep. I was not very happy as a child, but this song gave me hope. This was the first of many more albums and now CDs from this band. They write lyrics that make you feel speical.. I love this band and always will. Rock on and remember to HOLD ON!
Gives me goosebumps listening to this! I love how the music helps you to remember the good times and the bad. It lets you remember what is was to be young.
Rick's son, Brendan, played baseball for Central Michigan University. I saw Rick sing the US national anthem at Comerica Park (central played Michigan State). Rick still has a great set of pipes!!!
I still have my 81 Firebird, and once it is restored, of which i am getting ready to start. This is one of the songs that will blast from the speakers. Cannot wait!!!!!!!!!!
I bought Allied Forces when I was too young to drive. My older brother was nice enough to pop it in the cassette player in his stereo as we picked up his friend and drove to Mount Spokane to go skiing. I heard Fight The Good Fight, which was what I bought the cassette for, but it wasn't long before I heard Magic Power. I had no idea the same band sung both of those songs. Ahhh, ignorance and naivete. Regardless, it's a great song.
I thank God that I grew up in the 80's when music was great, not the crap it is today.
Most of it started in the 70's and rolled into the 80's. Then died a slow death into modern times...
Amen. Shit, I jammed to Triumph in '78 and am so glad I got to see them in small venues back the. The Bala Kee!!
I'm glad that I grew up in the 2000s because I grew up with the ability to access music like this almost anytime and anyplace. Todd: well said and though it might be hard to believe for some, TRUE. The history of music speaks for itself.
the most underrated rock band of all time....it's time to give 'em their due.
NOT UNDERRATED JUST NOT WELL KNOWN.
I PREFERRED THEM OVER SABBATH AND ZEPPELIN.
Indeed! Ric is amazing! Have you checked out his new stuff?
Love their music...loud 🦁
I'm young, wild, and free, remember those days??? What great times and GREAT MUSIC we had back then...These kids today don't have a clue, what it was really like then to be young, wild, or free, times certainly were different for us..How LUCKY were we??? ROCK ON...
This song is so overlooked when putting together any "top rock songs" lists and shouldn't be. It is a classic rock anthem worthy of any top 10 list!!
My all-time favorite song ever. Just chokes me up with tears, memories, and emotion. Thank you so much, Rik Emmett and Triumph!
In 84 i listened to this tape everyday on my to college and I listened to Rush on my home. This brings back such awesome memories when I was free and just beginning on my journey of life. I'm so glad that I grew up in the days of real and awesome music. :)
F.M. IS ANOTHER CANADIAN BAND
Why don't we have singers / bands like this anymore?
This is when being alive was great..70s & 80s rock...nothing like it. ...glad I lived it!
I just turned 29 and I'm so lucky I had a step dad who was a rocker. Triumph was his favorite band and I just fell in love. It spawned my love for rock and metal.
Ah, back then when it was about the music and lyrics. A bare stage with just the band, not a broadway show. I miss those days.
Even "back then" you could have both. Alice Cooper is a case in point.
Amy Birenbaum these guys went broke almost to put on a light show! Before they were making more than it cost lol. Triumph changed my young life! Positive messages of Magic Power and Hold On !

They were special. Only a few musicians per generation like this. Inspirational and talented.
Triumph, YES, Asia and Rush. The 80's. This music literally transports me back. Some of the best years. At home in Toronto.

Rock and Roll at it's best,,,,,long hair, levi''s, fast cars and pretty woman,,,,,and no rap, no processed music,,,,,it was real back then,,,,
Have loved this song all of my life.....How much more prolific can you be...Being a Disc Jockey,I know the Power and the Magic. I get tears in my eyes every time I hear this song....The feeling is to me as if someone threw a warm blanket on me...the best and most descriptive feeling I Have.........Comfort!!!
This song brings me back to US 83 and the memories of jr. high! Great times, great bands and great songs!
A time when music was excellent and be-in happy was enough. The music still has enough magic power to make me remember.
rik emmett has one of the best voices ever ..wish there were more bands like this miss the 80's

I saw them 3 times and thoroughly enjoyed each event. So many memories are triggered when listening to them. We were truly blessed to have grown up with these guys and other bands such as Styx, Kansas and Rush. True rock and roll, with lyrics that had meaning

Rik's another underrated Guitarist. Great song!
I've had the privilege of seeing Triumph back in the early 80's, and Rik Emmett twice a few years back live in concert. He is one of the most awesome guitarists, musicians, singer/songwriters I have ever seen in my life! You Rock Rik!!!
Favorite band of all time!!! I wish these guys would tour again....
This is got to be one of the top ten hair metal songs always. The words are rock and roll... Perfect..
They sound amazing live!!
Great music, great writing, fantastic vocals, missing from the garbage they are cramming down our throats nowadays. Now this is music!! This band rocked! Wish I could have seen them back in the day.

mrlionel1965 Triumph was actually my first concert, 1981 Worcester, MA. The start of long and exciting concert-going time in a young man's life,
My very first rock concert was this band playing at the old Saskatoon Arena downtown. What an awesome feeling and I still remember how they rocked that arena playing songs from In the Beginning.
cant hear this kind of music anymore, miss the 80's....
I was there ,this concert takes me back to a better time.
I will ALWAYS love the 80's music....my teens years growing up in Ft. Lauderdale, Fl
Home of the WILDEST Spring Breaks in History 1977-1989 !!
I too miss the days when rock stars had something most of today's stars don't have, what was it again....oh yeah now I remember.....TALENT !!!

This is just a wonderful song. So many great memories associated with it.
Excellent
The words the instruments vocals the era

My dad was so lucky to be young in this time. I wish would be 40 right now instead of being 20 now.
Such a good song, takes me back to my late teens. This song should be in the MILLIONS of views by now! Nice video.....
I was born and raised in Lockport, New York, which during that time, there was a bar that called themselves "After Dark." I recall a number of times Trriumph playing there. I enjoyed their music since then.
this one of the best live bands in even seen 1982 rocked
Triumph is my favourite Canadian Rock band. Rush comes a close second, I must say. They've always been in the shadow of Rush, are very underrated and unknown. Rik, Gill and Mike FTW!
Don't forget April Wine!!!!!
Has anyone ever seen rush and triumph in the same place at the same time??hmm..just wondering
49 this year. And I'm still young, wild, and FREE. This song still picks me up after a lousy day all these years later. Does anyone know what these guys are doing these days? Miss this band.
One of the best live bands of all time
I still have a 1977 Firebird I listen to these tunes in. Love Triumph!!!
HS Graduation and Triumph in concert. The ONLY thing in '82 worth a damn.
i refuse to get old , it is the child in us that lives and loves forever
Classic. I'd watch it a million times! BIG fan.

Great group, great song. Greetings from Mexico City
MY ALL TIME FAVORITE BAND!!!! I WISH THEY WOULD DO A REUNION TOUR
saw these guys kick ass in very early 80s.
Rick emmett is amazing and they are completey underrated. Its reaally insulting since this is real music. Love you Triumph :)
Triumph: I could be wrong, but it's always seemed to me that they were and have been one those GREAT bands that was/is completely under rated. Just some great talent and amazing music!!!
one of my all time fave songs...love it..!
Being the second best Toronto-based power trio is no dishonor!
saw these guys a couple of times in St.Louis Mike Levine always were a St Louis Blues jersey class act from Canada
Saw then live in SanDiego in 1986, DOKKEN opened. It was an awesome performance!
saw these guys in syracuse ny was the best show to this day ive ever seen i dont think they played one bad tune and the lite show was off the wall wish theyed tour again so i can enjoy the show like i did so many yrs ago thanks guys for the great show and great music its something ill necer forget

Exactly! Couldn't have said it better myself. What music does for us emotionally is a powerful thing!
I saw triumph several times and the 70's and 80's were the best and best music made
love this song...reminds me of my mom...may she RIP....she loved to sing
My first cocert ever!!!
Triumph, Saxon and Stranger in Tampa.
It was AWESOME!!!
No one really plays a guitar anymore...saw these guys live four times, would see them again given the chance!
Another great anthem from the 80's. Great times!
One of the best shows I have ever seen.
another mind boggling trio,no doubt!!!!!!!
Another one of those perfect air guitar tunes.
Beautiful voice!!
My brother saw them in the early 80s. He said they were epic. So jealous.
Covering this one in my 70's supergroups tribute. F'n song rocks!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Rick's son, Brendan, played baseball for Central Michigan University. I saw Rick sing the US national anthem at Comerica Park (central played Michigan State). Rick still has a great set of pipes!!!
Rush had "some guy" on stage too when they toured. Thats life when you're a trio, Myron.
That "some guy" in this video is Rick Santers, from the band Santers, a little known but great sounding Canadian band.
Canada sure seems what it has to put out such kickass trio bands
My class song in 1982....epic!
I still have my 81 Firebird, and once it is restored, of which i am getting ready to start. This is one of the songs that will blast from the speakers.
Cannot wait!!!!!!!!!!
This is so good it gives you a lump in your throat
just good rock n roll.....great song
Another under rated band from the '80s, I wore 3 of these LP's out!
i remember hearing this on FM radio. i didn't have money to buy this or any thing. i kinda stored it away inside my head.
Back in the good ol' days my best friend & I went to see them in concert. Frickin' awesome! Great video. Thanks for sharing ; ]
I really love this song.
I bought Allied Forces when I was too young to drive. Ahhh, ignorance and naivete. Regardless, it's a great song.
Another great Canadian band. There were so many of them in the 80's.
Awesome! I just went to an old record store and got this album so I can hear it the way I did back in high school! Can't be compared!
one of the best shows ever seen
Young Wild and Free YEARS before Snoop and Wiz
