Wow, it's cool to see this video after so many years. I was there when they filmed it at the Providence Civic Center. A lot of the shots were taken during the show. Afterwards, they asked the people that were still hanging around if they wanted to be in the video. So, they had everyone come down from the nose bleed seats, where I was, and fill up the floor. They moved all the ladies up front.... of course. I think they ran through the song maybe 4 times. They were lip syncing but, it was still cool to see how it was done.
The 2nd best rock band from Canada (for some the best). Beautiful heavy rock with a mix of 70's and 80's sound. Long Live Triumph and Canada! I Love You!
Just watched the great documentary, Rock and Roll Machine, and had to come and watch some of the old videos. I was actually at the shoot for this one at the Providence Civic Center (the opening act was Molly Hatchet! LOL). The local radio station had a promotion to make banners to hold up during the video shoot, which happened at the end of the actual concert. They brought up the house lights for a bit, moved in a BUNCH of models from Rhode Island's Barbizon modeling school to the front rows, and put all of us who made banners closer to the stage on the upper sides of "the bowl". They then proceeded to lip-sync to the song about five or six times in its entirety. During the last take, a pyrotechnic went off and you could see Rik suddenly run off the stage patting the top of his smoking head. His hair caught fire! The house lights came up after a few minutes and we were thanked for taking part in the shoot, but, damn. What a way to end it!
I have seen them live several times, looks like Maple Leaf Gardens. Always a huge stage presnece. So much talent and each person sings their hearts out. You always got your moneys worth with a Triumph concert. Too bad Ric Emmett left the band.

A band with fantastic musicians, underestimated, just because they were Canadian and lived unfairly in the shadow of Rush. For me, one of the best rock bands of all time
Oh, I don't know about that. They got their first really big boost in Texas, not Canada, when they subbed for Sammy Hagar. Their first show in San Antonio was so successful the audience refused to leave. They did something like three encore sets, and the last one was in their street clothes. But, in general, I don't think they got the same kind of acclaim that Rush did. I'm sure there was a soup of reasons. Marketing. Material. Rush had a string of very interesting concept albums. There's no way that triumph should not be in the Rock and roll Hall of Fame already ! That is a travesty! These guys were so good and so inspirational, and the lyrics were always so positive it's amazing !I saw them on the Thunder 7 tour it was at the Cow Palace in San Francisco, California. They sounded as good as their albums, they are obviously great musicians who put in a lot of time and effort growing up to play the music they did they made it look easy, that was not easy. I have been a drummer / guitar player/piano player my whole life. But my my main instruments the drums I could play these songs in high school because of course I could take the time to write them out and copy everything Gil Morre did. I attempted to sing spellbound and play at the same time I think I got time goes by down quite good, but try even finding local musicians and I'm from Stockton California that could play that was not easy.I can still sing all of those songs every lyric by heart! I want to say thank you to Rik Emmet , Mike Levine, and Gil Moore for being a great band, for being great musicians, and for giving us their love of music! You never be forgotten and your music is timeless!
I'm a girl who is almost 40, but my father showed me a bunch of great singers and bands. I always liked Rik's guitar versatility! He is amazing! I'm never get tired of his singing talent, but his guitar playing is a class art! I love TRIUMPH and his solo... Holy ghost... it's incredible! Lots of love from Russia! P. S. I will even pick up my own electric guitar in November and begin to learn this music work. Dear "Rocket", thanks a lot for being my inspiration!
your keywords there, are: "pick up my own electric guitar"! So, I challenge you to pick it up every chance you get. Even when you think you don't have the time, pick it up anyway! Don't put it back in its case or slide it under the bed. Instead, when it's not in your hands, maybe hang it on a wall or place it on a guitar stand by the TV where it will capture your eyes, attention and curiosity.
I was a 17 year old black kid from the hood in Baltimore and saw them at the arena during their Allied Forces tour with Foghat opening for them. Needless to say, it was phenomenal and so far beyond what I could ever imagine. Forty plus years later, I'm proud to still be a Triumph fan.

Don't ever look behind
Happiness is just a state of mind
Rock and roll lives and breathes in the hearts of the young
So carry on
You're runnin' on borrowed time
Tryin' hard to survive
Keep on runnin'
Your time is comin'
Keep your dreams alive
[Chorus]
Follow your heart

Living for the day, forget about tomorrow
Follow your heart
(You got to follow your heart)
Any other way will only lead to sorrow
Don't wait any longer
Follow your heart
[Verse 2]
Plays for keeps
And try to never lose
Live it fast, but live the life you choose
Rock and roll lives and breathes in the hearts of the young
So let it ride
Each time you roll the dice
Luck will finally arrive
Keep on runnin'
Your time is comin'
Keep your dreams alive

Living for the day, forget about tomorrow

(You got to follow your heart)

Yes I know, you got to let it go
[Bridge]
Oh, listen to the rhythm
Your heart won't lie
Rock and roll hearts
Just never die, they never die
[Chorus]
Follow your heart
(You got to follow your heart)
Living for today, forget about tomorrow
Follow your heart
(You got to follow your heart)
Any other way will only lead to sorrow

You never be forgotten and your music is timeless!
..and Dolly Parton is for some reason!!! WTF???
Amen!
Долой Путина. Мир Украине.
your keywords there, are: "pick up my own electric guitar"!
Sing and play drums like this, no way, Triumph is amazing, so melodic, holy shit 🇧🇷
Better Days with a couple of and or a few Quarts of Colt .45 Beer Malt Liquor. Fine beer and a fine weapon, Amen.
Brilliant mate 👍
i saw that same tour w/Foghat. I was a few years younger but I am also still a Triumph fan.
Rock on!❤
I saw them on their final tour at Canada's Wonderland.
An amazing catalogue of songs...
Great songs!
Had a great time and bought the T-shirt!! Lol
Wore it thin a long time ago.
World class act.
Glad I got to see them!!
Cheers
Perhaps you missed your calling? You have a better sense of talent than most.
These guys are beyond underrated. IMO, they're the most underrated group of all time. I remember seeing them in Myrtle Beach, SC in the early 80's when I was in high school. Simply incredible.
OMG another Underrated Comment. TRIUPMPH Was not Underrated by my friends and I . ZERO underration I assure your 300% and better days. RIP Scott Bordner.
Better Days.
Where were they in Myrtle beach ?....I saw The Fixx last year at the boat house on the intercostal on 501....it was like me and 9 other people rocking out ...No one even knew who The Fixx was
What a magical song! I was 11 in 1984 and in my my opinion it was one of the best years for music when you look at the songs and artists that year.
This is a great song, Triumph has so many great songs, Gil Moore has a good voice and plays great on the drums
One of the BEST Canadians Bands there ever was! Triumph and Rush were so great back in the 80's!!
April Wine as well
Loverboy.
Bill D 2 of my favorite bands.

I agree im 56 yrs i saw triump before they was Triump in Seattle at bar Rock on
2 beautiful voices in that group
I'm in this video at 2:14 I'm the one raising my arm up as the camera came past the mixing board. They played there whole show took a break the played Follow your heart 5 times after.
Amazing tune from an amazing group!
The band should have been way bigger then Rush, Rush is good but way to prog rock for the general public. This band has commercial appeal like Van Halen, Journey or Def Leppard
2 great singers, one of whom one of the best guitarists of all time. miss them. one of my 1st concerts. Thunder Seven tour. Awesome
Love this song..... So powerful... 👍🏿 Great band 👍🏿👍🏿👍🏿👍🏿
Triumph is a phenomenal band, they make all us Canadians proud! 🇨🇦
Мне 53...Ничего не знал про эту замечательную группу.
@@Expertcouch. exactly they never got the Media exposure that they should of. Better than Rush
