I’ve been singing for some number of years. Also been playing the harmonica for 60 years. When I picked up saxophone 40 years ago I applied those singing and harmonica skills to the sax. And man you’re telling folks is right on. Keep doing what you’re doing. I’m gon’ buy me some cake now.

It is amazing that even though your main instrument is the tenor sax you have this amazing powerful laser beam clear tone when playing alto sax. Respect for that!!

Could you make a video on playing quick unisons, and tonguing in the altissimo range?

I find using various drone backing tracks a really excellent way to incorporate musicality into scale/arpeggio practice, It also has the benefit of keeping intonation in check and allowing you to hear 'tension/release' as you play.
I pick one 'ambient drone backing track' each day from You tube. Its enjoyable and imo far more useful rather than the daily chore I used to start off my practice with.

Sorry but simply you can not avoid it, you sound good even when you play the scales "wrong " 😂😉

Bingo...... Good Sir, ever consider doing some flute tips and tricks? There are folks on YT talking flute but I'm sure you have some salient insights from the gigging - sax - guy perspective ....NOTE if you bust out some 5 octave flute stuff, I'm not sure if I can handle it.:)

I just started recently with a Jean Paul tenor but my goal is to move to baritone as my primary horn. Using the tenor to learn as much as I can until I can save enough for a baritone. What techniques could i implement to make that transition more seamless?

What's the Jean Paul tenor blow like? I've heard that they're well made?

@@adysaxman77 to be honest since I’m just starting i wouldn’t be able to give an expert opinion on comparison with other student models. I will say I’ve had no issues with any part of the full range. I love it, i can see myself using it for a long time before I buy another tenor. I got a Jody jazz mouthpiece that really helps the sound out. Overall i agree with other pros when they say it’s the best option for the money
