  • Because of Nioh 2: Combo Exhibition 2, it was necessary to make a tech video about this new Yokai Shift Cancel to unleash your darkness on a whole new level! This tech have 2 versions, Grapple cancel and Instant YS. Some condition may apply.

    Great tutorial and breakdown explaining the mechanics of the instant shift. I read the comments and it looks like you answered my question regarding 'out of ki' yokai. Definitely something to test on my side too! Great video my friend!

      Thank you! Normally, we would grapple an yokai since they can recover to full ki eventually so doing instant shift against human shows better result.

    Now this is more like it. I love how in DMC games, you could immediately and fluidly go in and out of Devil Trigger without some long animation in between that breaks up the flow of combat. I always wanted it in Nioh 2. Turns out it was always there. Do you know if you can also get it to work for Living Weapon in Nioh 1 though?

      Living weapon doesn't seem to have grapple to trigger it so I doubt that would be possible in Nioh 1.

    guys i need help im new to the game and i need good weapon from the start to the end i started with splitstaf and im afraid it become weak great vid btw

      Splitstaff is pretty good to use. High stance quick attack (hold) deals high dmg/ki dmg and shin crusher does huge ki dmg.the weapon uses some ki though so you will have to manage it properly.

      heart, courage, and magic spiltstaff/ sword build is super fun. can run fists, hatchets, or SG too :)
