man, I was playing Pearl when Pearl wasn't cool. The only other company I'd want to buy from would maybe be an old school Ludwig kit. Maybe a Ludwig black beauty snare. But, otherwise Pearl all the way. They have everything I'd want.
Hi Casey! I plan to buy a shell pack of this series, but I have a question: How does this "Session studio select" series serve on stage? Is it a good choice for playing live or supposed to be used in a studio rather?

Hey James! The finish is a lacquer, BUT I do believe I have seen similar wrap finishes available.

To order this drum without a snare and 3 extra toms, the price brought me up to the same price as Pearl's other high end kits. About 3500. To try and sell this as a value or entry pro kit is not an accurate representation of what these drums are designed to do. Don't get it twisted this is a professional kit for a professional price. You sacrifice because they only offer their select sizes. Not like when you get a MCX or reference kit.
Do you mean the same price as a high end kit without the additional Toms? Because there is no way you’re getting a 7 piece reference pure kit for less than like $6000 or so.
Any time you add toms to a shell pack it’s gonna cost you. I am suggesting the 5 piece shell pack 10/12/14/16/22 is the best option for a pro grade kit. If you need/want more toms it definitely requires added investment.
@@COOP3RDRUMM3R No I just always hear this term value put in front of it and to me that changes the idea behind what you get with these. Obviously with more toms on other shell packs but im just saying this kit is amazing and I would prefer this to some other high end kits from other manufacturers and Pearl themselves. Your video us one of the biggest reasons I picked it up in black halo glitter btw and the 24 bass drum to match haha
