Failed anchoring! say no to tight anchoring of the Geomembrane

This video is a classic example of how wrong anchoring can cause damages to the Geomembrane.
What is anchoring?
For anchoring the pond lined, a trench should be excavated around the pond. The trench allows for the burying of the Liner around the perimeter and is usually the easiest and most cost effective way to secure the Liner. Liners are installed covering the bottom of the trench and applied towards the basin.
While the installation of the Liner the geomembrane will be secured using sand bags and it would be kept in the trench. The sand bags will be kept untill water fills around half the storage capacity of the pond. Due to the invisible undulations on the surface of the pond, Liner can be tightened or loosened due to the water load. Now one have to remove few sand bags and rearrange the Liner. Finally the Liner should be buried inside the trench by back soiling the excavated soil.
