I’m glad breaks are legally mandated in CA. This was a management failure and there’s no reason this employee should have to suffer further when he’s already the only one who bothered to show up to work! Corporate will get mad at who? Management? Good, it was a management failure anyway 🤷♀️
I can sympathize with your frustration of the employee but I challenge you to think about it differently. I have to remind myself when I’m dashing, that many of these people are over worked and underpaid just like we are. We are also in a never ending pandemic. I can tell you that I will never provide more energy than I’m fairly compensated for ever again for an employer. I do feel like these places that are severely understaffed should probably just close up until their staffing is adequate. I just try to have a little more understanding for them as good karma. Life is TOUGH for sure and we’re all just trying to survive.
When i was in college . I worked in a convenience store. There were only 2 people on duty at any one time. We didn't get breaks. We had a bite to eat when we can. As for the guy at Little Caesars. 40 minute wait for the order. How long is his lunch break . How long is his shift. If he brown bagged it or made himself a pizza or bread sticks, pick at it during your shift. The dude not going to starve if he doesn't eat his lunch. He can eat his lunch while the order is being cooked. He probably stands around most of the day. If i was that person ordering Little Caesars I would have cancelled the order and contacted the LIttle Casears Corporate offices. I'd imagine they wouldn't appreciate the place not taking orders while the guy had lunch. The wendy's by my house pulled something similar. They turned off their doordash orders because they couldn't handle the walk in's and the drive thru's . The thing is. They had like half a dozen people working there at least . It wasn't a big wendys
@@vonydavis1150 If you are talking about the guy in the video. He stopped taking orders because he was on a break. If you are talking about my wendy's example. Wendy's turned off the online orders because they were too imcompetent and couldn't handle the customers they were getting
our taco bell has closed at 5pm alot, the dollar general store has been closed all day, or a sign saying they close at 5pm. i live in a small town around a cluster of smaller towns, cannot find anyone to work
If that is just a regular employee, it’s not his fault he’s the only one there. The manager needs to figure this out and find a way to cover a lunch break, or close if there’s no other option. I don’t think “you don’t get a break” is the right attitude.
If you call doordash when that happens you will get half pay. It will keep going to another dasher when it's unassigned rather than calling. If he said 40 minutes that's crazy.
our stories are similar in regards to McDs; in the mid '90's is when I saw their practices going down hill. If you remember, it was when we stopped making burgers directly from the grill and putting them inside warmers, then microwaving them. I worked as an opening mgr at 4:30am - 1pm and if we were short staffed, I skipped my break. Shoot LOL there were many many times (in 15yrs) we opened the store with only 2 employees (me and someone else) because of call offs, but we still opened dining room and Drive Thru! Oh Oh fun times lol! Great video. TY!
I love dropping off at hospitals..they always tip generously. Some of the sweetest most respectful customers I get work at the hospitals around here. 💜
Your funny love it, I thought if it was only one employee and it was there break orders won't get accepted so customers wouldn't have such a long wait.
Definitely disagree! You do get a break working alone! Dealing with rude customers who get angry at you because of a circumstance you can't help! We all need a moment to collect ourselves.
Congratulations on the success of your channel. I’m happy for you. It was cool to see you on Pedro’s live yesterday. We all have slow days and it’s frustrating I know. Customers need to get these instructions together. Girl stay away from the evil Popeyes. They are always on my blacklist. Yep they are always out of food or have long wait times. At least you got half pay. Btw I am watching more ads on your channel now that your monetized. Everyone watch a 30 second ad and help Mama with her debt:) Hospitals can be very annoying. I wanted to cheer when you declined the Popeyes order lol 😂 Get out of here with that DQ order but I guess it worked for you for location. I’m curious if that LC guy still has a job that never would have flown when I was working food back in the day as you also said. I don’t understand these people with dogs I love dogs but when I order I put my dog out it’s really simple right? I think a lot of drivers don’t usually use their pause option and it can be very helpful. Thanks for your video sending encouragement to you.
You talk about working to pay off your bills. Than you tell us they shorten your work hours. Than you tell us how service people do not take a break when there is work to be done. Than you take off early. This is a opportunity missed. No matter how hard you work you can never make it up. I like you videos and wish you well but the weight of the world is on your shoulders. Good Luck to you in the future.
Hi MM, Dont let the cheap no/low tippers get you down. The medical field people most are in a foul mood over worked and underpaid. The whole one person working, he should have paused orders from coming in on the door dash tablet that's what I did before going on break so no orders were sent into the store. Here they do give us breaks with one person the companies are too damn cheap so they rather have us close down for 30mins to save labor costs. Sometimes for 11pm-7am shift will allow us to work the entire shift with no break and yes its legal when employee signs a waiver but again them being cheap they will close down for 30 which I hated because the customers go nuts banging on the windows, tugging on the door handles, and calling the store phone they ruin your break and you get no peace and no pay for the 30mins.
I remember working at burger king nights shift none of the employees showed up it was just me and my manger I had to run front counter and drive threw it was stress full.. btw congrats 🎉🎉🎉🎉 much love ❤️
Little Caesars order was BS. You're right. DD wants you to sit there for 30 min before they tell you that you can quit on the delivery. IMO, Phillipine suppport should call said restaurant. Sorry but if you're doing pizza, you can stick it in the oven and then take the 15 min break while it cooks. But whatever.
I went to Popeye's the other night. I ordered 18 of those new wings and a few biscuits. They weren't all that spicy in my opinion. I ordered on the website for pickup immediately. Drove 2 miles to the place. I was there forever. There was one other guy waiting for his food and nobody else. When i finally got my food. I looked at my receipt. It took them an hour. Ridiculous. I'm amazed they are still open
Lil Caesars oizza stinks bad. The stench of the store and the pizza its like no other ‼️ pappa johns, pizza hut, dominos no weird stench but Lil Caesars stench. Someone told me its the sauce but damn its overwhelming stench that you smell later after you eat it if you get what im saying. 🚽
I disagree with you about the drivethru or lobby remaining open when just one employee is working. First, there should never be only one employee working. Safety issue. I was dashing one day when I encountered a locked dining room at Jack-in-the-Box. It was well past opening hour and it was locked. I needed to pick up my order, but couldn't so I actually walked up to the drivethru window with someone right next to it in her car and she gave me space to get in there and talk to the only employee in the restaurant. I emphathized with the woman as one of the drink machines was broken so she had a lot to deal with. How can only one person run a restaurant? i don't care if corporate comes by and deems it unacceptable. I'm sure they have to pee on occasion as well, since they are still human, I hope. It's very inconvenient when the one employee closes the store to take a break. This has happened with Circle K many times in the wee hours of the morning when I'm driving for Lyft. One night it happened at more than one Circle K when I needed to use the restroom! However, people must never be told that they can't take a break. Breaks are necessary. We are not machines. As wiscothrifter5381 said, these people are overworked and underpaid. I try to see things from their perspective and be patient.
