Actually Safiya's video inspired me to cut my hair as well. I did learn from her mistakes and set up to mirrors so I can see the back and overdirected the hair back so that it's longer in the front even at the pigtails stage. It's worked!

The joys of curly hair is that no one can cut my hair well, but my mom does the best job and she’d never cut hair before me. She’s given me a bob a few times now and they always turned out great...I just hate having a bob apparently
Charles Fournier Phaneuf doesn’t work great for curly hair because when you cut it straight and then wear it naturally curly the curl pattern is uneven and looks choppy. You have to cut with the curl pattern to make it look like a nice cut

I tried to cut my son’s hair when he was a kid. Hairdressers make it look so easy. Well he loved it all choppy and uneven. It took a while to convince him to let me take him somewhere to fix it.
