Its a great song and a big hit in 1984. Some people thought it was a bit racey with the innuendo at the time. It was different days and nothing compared to the filth that comes out in music today. I was 19 when it came out so in the demographic it was directed at and had no drama at all with it. We were doing those things in the song, it was pretty normal even though our parents had sticks up their arses. You can read between the lines pretty easily, but nothing over the top. Mondo Rock had a lot of great tracks from about 1980 to 1985, the singer Ross Wilson was singer in an earlier band called Daddy Cool who had a great hit with Eagle Rock which is worth a look as well.

Australia is a bit more open to singing about things like this ( probably not the US)…..BUT this song did get banned in Sydney ( NSW)… by the conservative radio station 2SM….. but a fantastic song anyway….Mondo Rock one of my favourite bands…. And they had many great songs…..Summer of 81, Cool World, State of the Heart, In Another Love, Touch of Paradise ( original version before Farnham).
He clip was shot where i grrew up Maroubra Beach, such great memories the Seals Club, the old Pavilion so much has changed sometimes not for the better
