Here's a tip. Put all your things you need in organized piles then put them in ziploc bags, you can then start choosing your luggages, backpacks, purses, slings, waist pack, pouches, compression cubes or magical items sack. Hope this helps someone because sometimes I get scatter brained, start overpacking or forget something.
I am so scatter brained that mine are in 4 suitcases.
I always enjoy your bag reviews. From reading the comments, I’m glad to see I’m not the only one who doesn’t like bags with tons of pockets. I think there is such a thing as too many pockets….too many places to stash things and then later, like a squirrel looking for the nuts he buried, I can’t find anything!
We take all kind here lol
@@TravelTipsbyLaurie 🤣
So many bags, something for everyone. I flew to New York in June for a week with a carry on. Thanks to you I had more clothes than I wore, enough toiletries and plenty of comfort items for the plane. You helped make my trip stress free, thank you for sharing all the tips and tricks you have acquired.
Yay when it happens, I realize that I can pack fewer clothes than I think too.
I agree. If I only find one or two useful then it is worth watching. I fantasize that I will be able to put into use these things to only have a carry-on plus personal item!! Having some knowledge about aircraft disasters (sorry Lorie's husband, comes from someone in the avionics end of things in my family) I know how to dress to survive :-) Yes, I know that flying is safer. I am still going to count the seats back to my seat from the closest exit by touching the top of the seat.
Just an observation. For me, I don't prefer the hardside suitcases that open like a book for spaces I know are going to be tight. With a regular softside suitcase I can set it on a luggage rack and open the top, resting it on the wall. Takes up less space to get into in tight spaces (think NYC hotel rooms, or Europeanl.
That feature is my only negative to spinner suitcases. We need to invent a luggage rack for them and vacation together!
I agree. Or, easier to fit 2 parents and 2 kids in a hotel room for a week!
Agreed. I usually don’t even unpack my suitcase when in a hotel room. Just open it on the luggage rack and live out of the bag. Less to unpack and pack back up.
Same, prefer soft sided also bc I feel like I'm not losing space in the center. Had a super sturdy 2 wheeled soft sided carry on I loved but I had to upgrade to 4 wheels bc pulling it all over the airport did a number on my arm so after a lot of searching I found a beautiful sturdy soft sided carry-on spinner by Hanke that fit an 8 day trip to Mexico without expanding it. I didn't even get to wear everything I packed!!!
Laurie do you worry about theft? I notice you cannot put locks on the grey one
I am one of those people that find pockets confusing. I forget where I put something. I think I have figured out how to remember what is where. We will see how well that works out. I find that putting items in individual see-through bags is easier to use. I think it is just the difference in how our brains work. The thing I do (thanks to you!) is put the stuff I need fast access to in the outer pocket.
You’re not alone!
I can't count how many times I put something in a pocket, couldn't find it, thought I left it home, and found it later!😆
I lose everything in all my backpack pockets! I thought of labeling them?? I don’t know what to do
My brain is a mess
My husband had to drive 30 minutes to bring me a second set of keys after my pocketbook ate my set. Found them when he arrived 😹 threw that bag out, BUT I do need pockets to organize. These look great!
@@jayhulrs1435 My brain is a mess too! I know that color helps me remember stuff.I also know that keeping it simple makes my life easier. Lori has helped me by having me put the stuff I have to show or get to first (the airport STRESSES ME OUT and that scrambles my brain even more!)in the outer pocket. You all have made me feel so much better! I am not alone!
I love my Nomad bag. I can go on 7 day trips and it holds everything.
That's why it is among my favorites!
Thank you for all your videos. I’m taking everything in and taking notes! Much appreciated!
Hey Laurie!, I just want to pass by and say thanks, I have used some of your bags suggestions and they become my favorites! Keep doing your videos!! :D 🤗
urie, You are so helpful, straight forward, and SWEET! Thank you for all your good tips!
Thanks so much!
I bought the Lovenook for a spring trip and it was perfect. I don’t care for lots of pockets, but love the roomy main compartment. Also love Travelon bags, but use a larger bucket style crossbody. Thanks for all the great information!
I love the bags with lots of pockets AS long as the inside has a bright fabric! It makes finding things so much easier 😉
Love a light colored fabric on the inside of backpacks and crossbody bags.
I purchased the Lovevook backpack in black and used it for a recent trip to Boston. It was perfect for my petite frame (some backpacks can overwhelm me) and held everything I needed, including my extra crossbody bag and my Birkenstocks. Loved the many pockets and dividers, perfect for easy travel.
I am so glad for you! It's a great bag for travel.
Laurie, like so many of your posts this one is super helpful to me. I’ve learned so much since I’ve been watching your videos. I’m someone who *loves* a lot of pockets and organizational helpers. They really help me when I’m traveling and also in every day bags. Thank you so much, Laurie. 💛
I love the term organizational helpers!
I’m so enjoying your videos. I’ve been checking out your recommendations and have started ordering items for my upcoming river cruise. Yesterday lightweight clothing pieces arrived…the suitcase arrived today and I’m waiting on the charger battery pack. Thank you so much for making these videos. Watching and preparing for the trip is an extension of the travel experience.
Awesome! Thank you! I think they are so helpful!
I just ordered ordered the Level 8 with your discount code. Thank you, Laurie! I love all your videos and tips you share! ❤✈️
Hope you enjoy it!
I have the Travelon bag and used it in Australia but I prefer a larger crossbody. The phone pocket is a must for any purse I own. For backpacks, I like a pocket against my back to hold anything valuable. Baggolini makes a style that has one, the backpack is smaller but good for a daypack/purse. Picking out the right bags can make a trip much easier!
Such a great wealth of information for every kind of carry on bag from actual suitcases to personal item bags. Getting ready to go to Hawaii and thinking about doing the carry on thing again. Thank you for all of the links. You always inspire me, Laurie! ♥
Have fun! It is easier and especially with casual Hawaii, doable. Don't miss this video if you have not been in a while: bit.ly/NotForgetPackHawaii
@@TravelTipsbyLaurie This will be our first ever trip to Hawaii. Can't wait. Thanks for the video link. I'll certainly watch it.
Great review of the various bags!! Thank you! I will say I hate too many pockets because I forget where I’ve put things and get frustrated when looking for them!!
I have that last bag, the tan travelon bag and just took it to Italy for three weeks. It was excellent. There’s one interior pocket that fits a passport perfectly. Those little security clips to lock the zippers work so smoothly that you can secure them with one hand while you’re carrying something else. It was super lightweight, and durable. Didn’t stain. I highly recommend it. I was amazed how much I could fit in it and felt really secure and walking around Rome and other areas with peace of mind
Yes when the zippers go over the edges, a bag opens wide!
I have that bag too but just need it to be a tad larger to hold EpiPens.
I love tons of pockets!!! One tip I have is that I use a carabiner on the zippers of my backpack, holding them closed to discourage theft.
I bought the 11-pocket belt bag because of your previous recommendation for both hubby and myself (mine in navy, his in black with black zippers) for our trip to Ireland and Scotland. I used mine the most to carry passports in the back pocket, watercolor kit in one of the larger pockets, and phone, money and brush in the front larger pocket, and tissues and lip balm in the small front pocket. Love it.
It holds so much, doesn't it? And that fabric is so smooth! I tried a few b/c I wanted super smooth fabric.
When I traveled for business I always used the Travel Pro bags. They look professional and made a good impression when the team met up at hotel check in.
I absolutely adore my Samantha Brown Essential Carry All bag. Reminds me of a PAKT duffle for less money and more organization!
I bought her tote so we shall see.
Thanks for showing all these options and demonstrating their features! Awesome video, you've done the work for us.
Glad it was helpful!
Hi Laurie! I love my Lovevook backpack with the 17 pockets. And thats the main reason i love it. There is a pocket for everything which allows for everything to be easily accesible. Its the perfect size for a personal item bag for me. I bought the red one after watching one of your videos where you recomended it and took it on my trip to the Dominican earlier this year. I was so glad i did and am so very happy with my purchase 🙂. Thank you so much! I also like that as a backpack, it allows my to be hands free.
I absolutely love them too!
I love the Travelon purse. I have 2 of the same style in different colors. I've used them for European travel since 2017. The security features along with the slash-proof strap and mesh imbedded fabric these great bags!
I love pockets because I love organization. I travel with Vera Bradley because her hard side suitcases and totes have tons of Pockets and organization. Even her travel accessories are amazing.
I love the black and white backpack with all the pockets - bought it because of you! But I'm in the "too many pockets" group. No matter how many times I try and remember where I put my sunglasses, contacts/eye care pouch, itch cream, lip balm - I can't find it! That said, I am committed to remembering to put things in the same place every time I travel so I'll remember. I love it because I can fit a compression bag or 2 shoe bags in the bottom and still have plenty of room. This last trip I stuffed all that plus 2 books. The only downside is that there's so much room, it's easy to pack it too full and then it's way too heavy. Great, great backpack - thanks for the recommendation!
Yes to all of that. I love hearing what everyone likes/dislikes based on their travel/organization style.
Don't know if it would help at all, but something I started doing in January was taking pictures of how I packed my backpack (which pocket I packed what in and how) so that I wouldn't have to refigure it out every trip. A different reason, but maybe something like that might help until you've got it down, as long as you can always find whatever device has the pics on it. Just throwing out ideas. My personal challenge is that I pack my wheelchair backpack one way when I'm using it at home, and a different way when I'm traveling, and remembering the differences of what I put where - I'm getting better, but it's still a work in progress.
Ha! I replaced my tote bag after it died with a Vera Bradley backpack with that same interior - which I love. 😅
I've watched you for over a year, and every one of your tips has been spot on. I don't even need the advice anymore, I just like watching your videos. ❤
Happy New Year!
You are so kind! Thank you
Thanks for another great informative video. I think it would be worth looking at the Arden Cove range for anti-theft. Their cross body range is super stylish and the tote bag can be converted to a back pack. For luggage I love the July range as their wheels are fantastic for cobblestones in Europe.
I purchased the Level 8 carry on for a 2 week trip we are planning. I did a trial run and went to Nashville for 2 weeks and stayed at my daughter’s. I had access to the washer and dryer. Also purchased the Béis weekender. I had used the compression bags in the level 8. We will be in Air Bnbs and have washers in several places. I am set for the trip!
Lug bags are my go to since they have so many pockets as well!!!! Thanks for your videos they have been so helpful in ALL of my travels. Your great!!!🎉🎉
Love pockets!
Love your videos and have watched so many I can't recall which video I saw you review a backpack that had a bottom compartment. I believe it was a Flight Attendants favorite. Thanks
Hi it was the Minkeeblue.com tote bag.
I love your paper towel prop. Haha. Good idea to show capacity!
Thank you, another helpful, with great ideas video!
I’m preparing for an international trip later this year and bought the pink Level 8 for myself and the blue one for my husband! Glad to know they both made your list! I also have the backpack you recommended as an option for my personal item bag and a couple of the crossbody bags as options for the trip. Talk about being “influenced”! I definitely have been! Haha.
Oh, I totally am influenced too! But it helps see people actually use the items to know if you would like them.
I fell in love with this pink lvl 8 carry on, but unfortunately, it's too heavy. my carry on allowance is 7kg and the suitcase weighs 3,5 according to their site-doesn't leave much room for my stuff 😢
The bumpers on the Level 8 suitcases can also be considered feet for when you’re opening your luggage on a hard surface.
My favorite personal item is the Lug puddle jumper backpack. It has so many pockets and slots for organizing.
They have great organization for travel.
Great video, thank you. I feel the same as you with the Nomad Bento Bag. It is great for car or train trips but not as great for flying. I have the original Minkee Blue Ella tote bag- that is one of my main travel bags. Lots of versatility. The LOVEVOOK backpack is also one of my favorites. I can put the cooler from the Minkee tote in the bottom and still have plenty of room. I haven’t converted to a hard side luggage yet because my old Samantha Brown is still in amazing condition but these are great tips for when I make the switch.
Yay! She’s the OG to me!
I bought the grey backpack last year and love, love, love it!
It's so good!
I really love a hard sided case, and have used one for years. In fact, I bought two new ones, a small & larger one, as my larger one was really old, only to find that one of the new ones was almost identical to a Delsey I bought in 1992, and has traveled to and from Asia 6 times!! The weight is the same, the features are the same! I have two of the quilted purses from Amazon with the chain strap (love the fact that you can choose the metal color). They are great cross body bags, without making you stand out as a tourist.
I also still love those gold chain bags-they are firm and can look dressy but feel casual.
Thanks so much for sharing ❤
I have one coming out next week that will be just carry-on suitcases.
I purchased the Lovevook backpack after one of your reviews and have used it a couple of times-love it and the striped interior makes it easy to find stuff and I do like a lot of pockets, even tho I don't use all of them! small packs fit well, eletcronic pack, meds, bath, etc plus a packing cube is great! no to decide on which carry on I need to get for our next trip!
Love the striped fabric too!
Thanks for the great video! One thing I do with deep personal item bags is put a packing cube with extra outfit in the bottom and then I put a felt purse organizer on top. This gives me tons of extra organization and all things are more easy to access.
That's a great idea!
I may use the felt purse organizer on my next trip. Great idea
My husband hates that we have more than one suitcase but you need them for different situations. Luckily we have a storage room. I have an older Travelon crossbody/wristlet purse that I love and use for distance travel. It has lasted a long time, wipes done easily. I recommend the patterned fabric. I also have the Travelpro walk about 3 international spinner. They are durable, have storage and practical. We got the international size at Macy’s before Covid but have not traveled internationally since then. The international size works great for seniors because it’s not as large and doesn’t get as heavy. I can easily put a weeks worth of clothes in the suitcase even though it’s smaller. The downside is fitting shoes in this size suitcase. You can easily put in smaller shoes and sandals but I struggle with being able to get hiking shoes in the suitcase and still be able to put a weeks worth of clothes in there. I have a wonderful Bagillini bag I use for my personal item that I got very reasonably priced at Marshalls years ago. This bag also is very durable, wipes up easily and has many many organization pockets. The downsize is that this particular bag does not have the outside pockets for a water bottle and umbrella. I bought a clip on ring that you can put around the top of a water bottle and I’ll just hang off your bag. The bag also did not have a luggage strap so I found a purse strap on Amazon that clips on and works perfect as a luggage strap. Sometimes you just have to get creative. Happy travels! 🧳
Thank you for the comprehensive review
That is great! Yes I have to have a luggage strap.
NEW PRINTS: I just saw the most adorable new prints for American Tourister luggage at Kohl’s. One is a black with small white flower print on hard side luggage. In the other one was a lighter leaf print on a hard side luggage. So cute!
I bought the striped backpack with 17 pockets after seeing your review months ago. I love it! I just yesterday ordered a Level 8 Voyageur 20" carry-on (with the extra wide handle) in Celadon and I can't wait to get it. I've never had hard-sided luggage before and also wanted those nice spinner wheels. Thanks for all the great recommendations.
Oh I cannot wait to see how you like that carry-on. My backpack would not fit over the handles so I was not into that one. Thanks for watching!
@@TravelTipsbyLaurieaurie: I used your pm to me about fav backpack, bought it, used it, luv luv it…. Here’s how I fixed the issue of NOT having that back strap fit over the handles of the roller board: I cut the strap down the middle… bought (at craft store) a sturdy piece of elastic and used my “old” sewing machine to sew about a 2inch piece of elastic where I cut the strap… on both sides… sewed it twice!!!! Works perfectly! LUV it even more now!!! Thought about taking it to shoe repair place to have it sewn… but shoot, I did it myself!!! Now it fits over my handle with no issues!! Thanks!!! Linnie
@@Linzi1947 Oh you are brilliant! Great hack for checked luggage or when the bag does not fit.
I have the black striped backpack, I have a love hate with that backpack due to the bar on top. I have the black with gold zipper multi pocket Fanny pack and I love it, I can carry everything I need and be hands 🙌 free.
On your recommendation, I bought the brown purse for a trip to Canada last year. The purse was perfect and is now my everyday purse. I’m considering ordering another color. I got the striped backpack for Christmas and love it! I’m looking forward to using it for a road trip and then a fall trip to New England. Thanks for all your tips and tricks! They have been so helpful!❤
Ahhh fall in NE! So glad you like that crossbody too. I want a red for London or Canada.
Your videos are so informative… but I rarely travel “carry on only”. I travel with my husband for his professional meetings - they include dinners, sometimes black tie functions and “organized” sight seeing (think ladies who lunch). Carry on doesn’t work for these events. Vacation travel is usually with a group - typically 12 to 15 days - and we “dress” for dinner. But I am still fascinated by carry on only travel. Thanks for opening my eyes to this.
I love watching videos about travel too.
I purchased the striped backpack, but chose the solid black over the stripes. I found it more sophisticated and I don't need to worry about it getting dirty. I've used it traveling to Texas and for traveling overseas to Europe. I love how much space it has to organize everything that I need. I like how the bag opens and the structure of it over the design of a traditional backpack. I can easily search for and take stuff out of the backpack.
Ditto! I have the same, and just got back from a 14-day trip to the UK and Iceland. It carries soooo much that freed up space in my checked luggage. Kudos to you, Lori for your very helpful vids
That makes sense. So wonderful traveling overseas again.
Based upon your other videos, I purchased the MinkeeBlue and took it for my month in Paris. I used the lunch box for storing the toiletries and electronics that I needed at my airplane seat. I pulled it out of the backpack once at my business class seat. It fit in the tiny storage space beneath the ottoman in my pod. Because the backpack is structured, it was perfect for taking a bottle of wine, wine glasses, and utensils for a picnic. I used the lunch box for the cheeses. It was loaded, but more comfortable than an unstructured backpack for carrying the wine. I walked 40+ minutes! I found it roomy enough for my carry-on "small" item.
That is great to know-especially for traveling abroad with a tote bag.
I have both a soft and hardshell carry-on suitcase. I prefer the hardshell. I can pack a lot more in my 20 in hardshell. I like the 2 sides of the hardshell. It allows you to separate your clothes from your shoes and toiletries. I also have the Lovevook backpack similar to the strip one you showed. I got the black and cream color. Of course, the cream color part got dirty rather quickly 🤦🏻♀️.
I think I haven't commented before but I really like your videos. I just came back from holidays (Middle East to Europe - 7 hours flight + 4 weeks holidays) where I tested a few things I bought after watching your videos. First; a Lovevook weekend/tote bag. Fantastic buy. Impressed by the capacity, all the pockets and lightweight. Perfect! I also tried the Cabeau travel pillow. I was super relunctant to invest yet in a new pillow that would support my neck as I never liked those. But this one is revolutionary!!! It really holds your head on the side while remaining thin in the neck! And so soooft! Sleeping onboard was much better. And last but not least, I also tried the compression packs. I'm going to order more: this is how much I appreciated them. So thank you again for your videos with honest reviews: your suggestions really made a difference.
Thanks for sharing the details. That is great!
Love your channel! I pack carry-on size all the time. I have a decent suitcase for now, but still looking for that perfect personal item bag. I also don't like a lot of pockets, it takes me too long to get to what I want. I like one outside pocket and maybe one or two inside ones, that's it. I'm going to experiment with using small packing cubes in my backpack/personal item to see if that helps. Thanks for the links to the wide purse straps, I've already put about 3 on my Amazon list. Thanks for all the great tips!
It’s hard finding super wide but Pom Pom London has wide ones.
I have the striped backpack bag and I love it, except I do forget what I have in the different pockets. It is amazing how many things you can get in this bag for a personal bag. I always use a tiny purse so I can just put it inside.... It does get quite heavy sometimes since I have my ipad and battery bank. 🤦♀️
Thank you Laurie! I will be using the gray backpack on my first non rev trip next week! I appreciate your videos so much! I have not flown since 2019 and your videos have been very helpful!
Have fun! It's crazy out there but you will be ready.

Thank you!
I got the Lovevook backpack in black after seeing your recommendation. I can’t wait to use it for my upcoming trip, it seems perfect! I live in Houston too!
Oh nice! Thank you for sharing that. I got to be on Houston Life show today on KPRC. So cool!
Thank you for a great list! Sending this to my husband since he packed heavy for our vacay this summer. It was a pain getting his big suitcase on all the trains! Meanwhile, I packed your under the seat Amazon roller bag and your black and white striped backpack for a whole month in Switzerland and Austria. Trains were so easy!!! And the backpack fit on top of my little roller bag so I didn't even have to carry it. And I still over packed! Started a list of the items I didn't use so I don't bother taking them again. Thank you so much! I must've given your channel to at least a dozen people who couldn't believe how light I was traveling. It made our trip so much more enjoyable not having to find space for a large bag on the buses, trains, and planes we took. 7 trains in 1 day! My husband got so tired of me lecturing him about your advice. LOL Meanwhile, planning my trip from Kona to Asheville/ Knoxville in Sept. Plan on taking the same bags. Thank you so much!!!
Experience is better than any lecture for sure. But I have made the mistakes so y'all do not have to. The trains makes travel a whole new ball game.

Hey Laurie. I just used the Lovevook beige carryon for the first time. The one thing I absolutely did not like is the trolly strap barely fit over the handle on my TravelPro carryon. It was very difficult to get on. I have the striped one also and I measured the trolley strap and it about 1 1/2 inches longer than the beige one. Did you notice this or have troubles?
I bought the Travelpro like yours because I wanted the option of the expansion feature and I also like the 2 embedded wheels. I feel like it gives me a little extra packing space and the wheels seem very solid. Using it in September for a 9 day trip to Maui.
Great to hear! Have a lovely trip!
I love all your videos. Do you know of a under the seat with 4 wheels carry on that is reasonably priced?

I really like hard side luggage pieces. I think the hard-side type just handle travel better. Mine does not have any unusual wavy lines or decorations on the material but it is textured.
I really appreciate your tips and tricks. Thanks!
Thank you for watching!
Thanks for another great bag review Laurie! Right now I’m good for my flight bags & cross bodies, but that waterproof belt bag will be great for my daily power walks. You always have something I need!

Hi, I hope you were able to return it. If you do not love it, it is not worth $1. Travelon has some other slash-resistant bags that are bigger.
@@TravelTipsbyLaurie actually, I was too late to return it but it won’t go to waste. I got the peacock blue and it will be wonderful for cruises, etc.
I also bought the Lovevook backpack and got the Travelon small East/west bag. I’m using both on my current trip to Florida and love them. I also own a couple of the other backpack-style bags you’ve shown but this new one is probably my favorite.
@@barbarahansen5353 Ha! They're so good!
thank you
Hi Laurie ! Thanks so much for your videos. Excited to be taking our first trip to France and Italy in April. Looking at the striped backpack is that the 15 inch one ? Amazon has 15 and 17 inch size ? Thanks for sharing all your tips and hints .
I have the stripey backpack and have taken it as an underseat/carryon bag and when I got there, I used it as my camera/handbag for my trips. It works out really well and I rather liked the fact that it would sit up on its own open due to the bars at the top. This was a great overview of bags. Thanks, Laurie!
Thank you! I agree that it sits up so easily.

😊
Fav of all time is Bento Bag by Nomad Lane. Just purchased v4 which is my second one. Gifting v2 to our niece. Looking forward to their newest “Origami Bag” due to be released in August this year (23’). A 4 in 1, tote, backpack, crossbody, top handle. 👏👏👏👏
Good choice!
I have the version 3 but want version 4, lol! I haven't heard of their new bag, but that sounds awesome! I just got a Baggalini backpack/crossbows bag, but will look forward to seeing what NL's is like!
You made me think about a little different thing… (your hacks are always 👍🙏)
I always got soft-side automatically, bc I thought it would “fit in” better. Now that I’m flying a lot more, with just a carry-on, I watch the bins, and it doesn’t seem like that kind of “fit” means much. The bag won’t be squashed to that degree (if this makes sense).
I realized it goes back to our sailing days, when your bag really did get squished, twisted and squeezed around in all kinds of weird spaces.😮😊 Not an airplane bin!
I’m gonna be looking hard at some of your recs very soon.
Thanks for all the great info, Laurie! I wish I could afford the VELO suitcase you presented in one of your other videos. :)
Hi! It’s a great concept. I don’t think it’s available yet.
I want you to know I purchased the striped backpack/carry on….Loved it! So cute and so many pockets. I took on my trip recently to London and Paris. I just love the look of it!
Thanks for sharing!! It and the light gray are my favorites.
You have me addicted to changing out my purse strap!!
I am now too!
Where do you buy all the different straps for the cross body bags ? Thank you so much 😊
Such a great video!
Thank you so much.
Hi Laurie! Your videos are awesome! I never even thought about travelling with a carry-on/personal item only as I'm such a heavy packer. But after watching some of your videos, I decided to give it a try. So far, I've taken a 3.5 week trip and a 5-day trip, and while challenging to figure out, at first (ESPECIALLY the liquids bag!), I did great thanks to your many tips. One thing that helped is a new carry-on I got from Solgaard, along with their backpack. They both have this closet/shelving system that compresses, which is great for organization. I used the backpack as my personal item but didn't use the 'closet' in the backpack so I could fit other non-clothes items. But the carry on is fantastic. Would be curious if you've ever checked it out or tried it? Thank you for all your fabulous tips and tricks!
Hi I have not because I think the shelving part would take up space for me. I am thrilled you love them though.
I just love bags, backpacks and pouches. I have quite a collection 😂
Me too 😂
Great video
11:28 I have the black and white striped backpack and I love it except that the bar at the top drove me nuts. I was able to remove it by breaking some stitches in an inconspicuous spot on the inside - I would be careful if you do this since you don’t want to compromise the integrity of the bag. Just a very small hole will let you slide out the bar. If you’re better at hand stitching than I am, it’s probably a good idea to stitch that spot back up. :)
Oh good to know it is removable.
.
I have the same backpack (in navy). I really like it, though sometimes I have a love hate relationship with the bar. I do love that it stands up, though. Another thing that is nit-picky on my part…the outside lower pocket only has one zipper pull. I wish it had two. I find it difficult to get open and closed during flight as I try to figure out which side the zipper pull is on. 😅 I know…first-world problems! 🤓
@@lizinaz2480 Oh I totally understand what you are saying! For the gray one, I wish it had two zippers on the second pocket.
Hi Laurie! Love your posts! Great advice. Have you ever checked out Lug brand bags. They're great for travel and every day use!
Hi I have not.
Thanks for the video, I have the blue Level 8 with the outer pocket and I love it except it is really heavy, even without anything in it. So, I find it hard to lift it over my head to put it in the overhead compartment on the plane. My daughter usually has to help me lift it, and get it down.
Yes, many people cannot lift carry-on suitcases. I was surprised of its weight. The textured one is lighter.
Hey, Laurie. Happy New Year! I always enjoy your channel. Except a recent video showing you had ordered multiple backpacks to try and send back. Please watch a few Amazon return videos to learn how most returns go straight to the landfill and how those of you with huge followings can educate and reduce unnecessary wastefulness instead of contributing to an ever-growing problem. I used to take full advantage of the free return policy as well until I stumbled across a few videos that changed my perspective.
Hi, I purchase the black and white striped backpack from watching your videos and absolutely love it.
It truly is a viewer favorite!
I have the black and white striped backpack. It’s my hospital/hurricane go-bag and holds quite a lot.
It does! Bigger base than the light gray backpack.
I enjoy watching your videos even though I am not going anywhere. But, I will certainly be ready when that day comes!
Yes you will be ready! Do you pack in carry-on bags?
I like that you have a collection of suitcases. I have two carry on, one under the seat, one big check-in size ( for cruises), two back packs, at least four crossbody bags but no belt bag. I have learned from you packing techniques, packing hacks and safety tips. Whew!
@@cjenkins8785 Yes my husband is over it lol. Thanks so much
I just saw this and had just received last night the travelon small crossbody bag. I was a bit concerned about its size and I do have to slim down my eyeglass case and phone case , but I love it's features. So, thank you for confirming I did well. Also, it's nice to see another person whom has a ton of travel bags and accessories. 😅 P.S. I also bought a personal item under seat bag from Lily & Drew that looks small , but fits a huge amount after testing it out last night. I'm hopeful this will do well for my upcoming international trip. Thanks for your great advise! ❤️
Yay I am so glad!!
I loved so many pockets backpack or bags bcoz I can organize my things
Travel organizers are so important to many passengers!!
You have a lot of suitcases. We use Travel Pro, partially based on your previous recommendations. We’ve been happy with them. TFS
My husband is growing tired of them but now j want to get a soft sided spinner…
@@TravelTipsbyLaurie I guess with as much as he uses them they would get tiring.
Love all your travel tips and tricks videos (been watching your UA-cam channel for years). I have the Level 8, stripped carry on, reverse open backpack, travelon cross body, and a whole lot of travel gear… neck pillow, foot sling, etc. going on Mediterranean cruise in October and a bit nervous since I haven’t flown long distance in years nor been on a cruise in 10+ years… please continue with your excellent and informative advice. Happy 4th July 🎉 18:24
Hi and thanks so much! I hope you are going to have a marvelous trip!
