Just ordered it and can't wait to receive it ! I already have a P30 new which is impressive but the P3Oi seems like a lighting monster ! Great video as always !!! :)
Great review Charles. I'd lost in the forest my previous Nitecore and this looks like a great upgrade. I'm off to the mountains so going to order. Your review kind of confirmed it for me. PS: Just came across your channel, so have SUBSCRIBED. ;)
I was just about to buy the last model off your review I watched last weekend. I’m glad I waited till Sunday, when I saw on Nitecore website, the new P 30i. Now that I’ve seen this review, it is good as mine! Thanks for your review. Well covered showing different levels at definite distances. After seeing this, there is no question, I’m getting one on order now. There are a few places that have them in stock already.
I ordered one on Wednesday and it’s showing up at my house on Monday... Can’t wait to play... lol! Well, it showed up sooner than expected! Got here on Friday! Now I can second Charles’ opinion on this light. This thing is awesome! I stood on the porch and checked it out last night to get the jist of it... It was 18* F here in Texas, sleet was pouring out of the sky. Yes, I’m very satisfied with this purchase and would definitely recommend this one. It’s the best all around light that has some good throw distance. Before this newest model came out, I was looking hard at Acebeam; the L 18, L 19, 35 lattice pro, T 27, T 28 . With these, brightness wasn’t an issue, the short turbo time and high was disappointing for my needs. The Nitecore P 30i runtimes were more realistic to my needs. Imagine having to spot a target in a tactical situation. You have to check a few areas out, so you hit the turbo. The last time you hit the turbo, it won’t put out full power right when you need it. Didn’t have the luxury of time to change battery out just because you used it for 5 minutes... The main point I’m trying to tell you is this the best overall BALANCE of throw, usage times for real life situations such as hunting or self defense. Especially these days, when I thought to plan for worst case scenario. Be Safe my friends!
I had the P30 once but someone decided they needed it more than I did and it disappeared. It was a really good light for its time. But that Speras T1, even though it's longer, has a much longer throw and better battery life than the P30 at the same price. I don't mind carrying the extra length if I've got a superior throw. I do like Nitecore, but Speras seems to be hitting it out of the ballpark at the moment. Actually, I was looking at the P30i because it is a full-featured thrower with great power but the Speras won me over with its extended battery time as the main reason I went that way. Sometimes I am in places where recharging isn't an option.
Hi Charles, I love your reviews, they are the best. I wanted to ask you if this p30i model does not have direct access to STROBO, if it only does so via cable, or is there any special way to access it. Thank you
Another great video review. I understand beam patterns have pros and cons for different applications, but could you share your overall favorite beam patterns ranked in order?
@@CharlesBridgTec I had noticed this with the other Nitecore of the "i" series. I don't understand why they wanted to exclude the 18650s. I think it's a marketing thing.
I don’t understand why Nitecore does that. They’ve done that before on other lites. Less expensive and just as powerful flashlights..and about the same size..don’t require a proprietary battery.
Hi Charles, awesome video! I really like your consistency when you're testing each light in the field it helps when trying to compare. Would you mind elaborating on what you meant when you said 'this particular version of cree will be updated soon'. What will it be updated to and any idea of roughly when? Thanks.
Are the latest nitecore next generation flashlights use that new propriety battery ?also y The run time is shorter if compare other 21700 flashlights in the similar lumens output?
Nitecore tests the light without heat regulation system on. So without cycle down time runtimes are less. The new battery is on only a few light I have tested. Thanks for watching!
@@kywong8809 Not tested the L19 but the Olight is behind Nitecore on this one but nit by much. Turbo times on Olight are a little less then drop to 600 lumens verses the P30i is 1000 lumens.
The MH40GTR uses an Cree XP-L HI LED for at about 1003 meters. Small hot spot and only 1200 lumens. The P30i is smaller uses a Cree XHP35 HI LED for 2000 lumens at 1000 meters. There is alot of differences. The P30i beats it. Thanks for watching!
Really not a fair comparison.. $128 vs a $28 light.. can’t compare a corvette to a Hyundai … a better comparison I think would be the astrolux c8 for $20… the astrolux wins that race too
The original P30 is only 700 meters of throw. The new P30i is 1000 meters so we already know which would throw farther. I did a review of the P30 years ago on my channel. Thanks for watching!
To be honest there is smaller flashlight that throws same and way smaller in size, acebeam L18 and im not even talking about L19 is beast and still smaller then p30i They used outdated led for huge head on this flashlight. And also pricey it is
Boy that clip does not look like a comfortable way to carry that German hand grenade. That said I went wild and bought one before looking at some reviews on UA-cam… and a Tini 2 cause it looked neat… and a TM10k because 10,000!!… and maybe a T4K because it seemed more practical to EDC… and then a TT20 because man I guess I need something normal flashlight shaped… then a MT06MD because hey my wife works at a hospital she could use a nice light right? Feel like I just dived into a deep hole I shouldn’t have.
Good specs, But I think it's kinda ugly though. Function over form with this one I guess. Would have been neat it they had just upgraded the the specs of the P30 instead of just the battery.
