how the fuck do u make a camera? The whole video made sense until he said he planned that trip to go surfing in australia etc and one day he just manufactured a camera and it was the best thing ever? like what the fuck. How did he go from being a surfer to making a camera?
+Void Lotfi Contact a camera manufacturer tell them what u want for a prototype, pay, then pitch your idea to angel investors. I assume at least but this seems likely what happened
+Void Lotfi His father is a banker and invested $200,000 in the early prototype which is basically a strap attached with a camera off the shelf. When the business runs on track he can hire talented engineers to make their own customized cameras tho.
+Void Lotfi he wanted to capture the moment just like everybody else. We all know that what you saw in your eyes are gone after you see it the details are gone thats why he wanted to capture or ducument the moment.
"It's inspiring of course but I always question this. People who watch this: did you get to wake up at 1 in the afternoon, sit on the couch and think about life 6 MONTHS after graduating from college? Almost all of my college peers were pressured and/or forced to work or find jobs immediately after graduation. Let alone "PLAN A 5 MONTHS TRIP AROUND THE WORLD" Oh let's not forget Woodman's father and mother let him BORROW 250k to start him off. I love the message, pursue your passion and what defines you. Sure, but having privilege (like parents that can loan you $250k) really set you ahead of the race." Anyone see this? lol I cannot agree more. I love this series too ABSOLUTELY inspiring but his story really shows how much ahead the riches are...
Yep, I knew about this too. Honestly good for him, but many people could not for exploring the world for more than a week. However, just because you do not come privilege does NOT mean you can do great things. Look at Robert Herjavec from Sharktank
Imagine what the world would be without gopro. So many filmmakers wouldn't exist and especially for me without my first gopro I would have never become interested in film.
I loved this! I grew up in Huntington Beach and most of my really great ideas came from doing things I have loved as well! When you do this, you embody Eros, the juice of life, and the success emerges organically! Surf on!
There's no such thing as luck, 'luck' through riches is just a bystander's observation of an individual who actualizes, persists, and commits on a dream. I hate when people see 'celebrities' or those who ''made it'' and tell them they're so lucky.
One day I just went to the beach and got a camera manifactured...and just took it from there. Also I got a small loan of a 200k. Follow your passion guys.
I dont disagree with the message of the video but you have to admit you're pretty privileged to be able to sit on your couch for 6 months straight out of school but still afford to go to Australia and Indonesia.
If funny how, just to create the inspiring effect they speak about the success and those thing, but I'm wondering: How he was able to create that first camera??? Just went to the factory and ask for it???? There's a big blank space in there. And that's where the real story is
Good talk with Nick, however Nick had rich parents and plenty of startup funds from his rich parents and this allowed him to live a fun, and active lifestyle. Most people don't have the same opportunities, and I'm not going to pull the (life is not fair card) because everyone has the opportunity to be great, some just don't have the same tools in their workshop as Nick Woodman did...
This is my favorite series reddit! Keep up the amazing quality!
+I am Max Thank you, Max! We're loving making these with you all.
+I am Max I don't mind a little corporate shilling here and there :]

+Void Lotfi Yeah seriously, I felt like that was a huge gap, which was also the most important part.
+Void Lotfi It was made in a factory my friend. As a matter afact he says it was a prototype;" HD Hero"
+Void Lotfi he wanted to capture the moment just like everybody else. We all know that what you saw in your eyes are gone after you see it the details are gone thats why he wanted to capture or ducument the moment.

Well he was the only one to think of this "easy" concept, and I guess that is why he is worth billions.
