Scoring Star Trek - Killer Cue: "Rescue" by Gerald Fried

Here is a mash-up of one of Fried's most often heard cues, written for Catspaw initially but tracked almost endlessly for that act ending with certain peril awaiting our heroes. Where else have you heard this one?

It truly is remarkable how so many of the musical cues from Star Trek can be applied to so many diverse episodes and situations. Remarkable application by the various composers, producers and sound engineers. At 37 seconds a short, but astute video!

wolf in the fold when scott is seen holding the knife at the end of the teaser. The Changeling when Nomad is beamed aboard. I Mudd as Mudd is laughing maniacally after telling them that they're going to have to stay there for the rest of their lives... patterns of force... when spock is forced to remove his helmet. ..

Wow that was originally in catspaw. It was used in more than those 3 episodes right? Wasn’t it used in Bread and Circuses?

I have yet to go through them all, but suspect there are many tracked usages! And I think you're right on B&C.

I think I saw "Catspaw" after these other episodes that had the cues. Still there's a lot of moments in this show where there's no talking, so the music dominates.

no, they don't use this in that episode, they use another act closing cue from catspaw in that one though.
