  • This is the final 9 ball match in a race to 11....Tadd opens up the match with a nice 3 pack.Note the terrible roll that Hatch gets in the middle of the match(20:30) due solely to the table roll.Very unfortunate!

If Tad kept playing there's no telling what he would have accomplished in pool, fast and loose, man, what a talent! 🌍🌛🌞

Yeah, I was a big fan of his back in the day. His emotional ups and downs are what caused his problems IMHO. There are so many talented and gifted people out there that never really achieve their potential because of their poor upbringings that cause baggage and demons in adulthood. Again, I could be totally wrong but it seems to be a common theme and something I've observed my entire life.

Love Tadd's play back then. Honestly, both of them have real pocketing power. And finesse too. Great great match. Thanks John

Glad you enjoyed it. I do still have one more Tadd match to upload but I have to get motivated....lol.....It's Tadd vs Buddy Hall at South Bay. 9-ball best of three sets will require two separate uploads.
      Thanks for the comment:)

Mark was the best under the radar player in the World back then, Wish he stuck strictly to pool, he would be among the Greats for sure, shot straighter than ANYONE I've ever seen, and fast

I walked through the Sands Regency Open with Mark Tadd and all of the champions were there...no one asked him to play and they gave him respect when he walked through the room. Great player and anyone who could play new that....

This is the year Tadd got first in nine ball and banks. He lost one pocket by one game I believe. If I remember correct he beat everyone in the 256 man 9-ball field 11-3 or worse but this match. Nobody else got over 3 games on him

Very good match. Not many safe plays just making balls & runouts. They both played well. Dennis got a bad table roll but at the same time I would’ve hit inside on the short to run into the 8 not up and down. Mark not only made the 9 in a break but also had a shot on the low ball on almost every one of his breaks which is key.

No question the slate is off at the seam underneath the table cloth making the cue ball roll to its left out of angle for a shot. I mean it's really off and very noticeable even by the fans watching especially when the cue ball comes to a rest. I didn't know the score because its not posted but an unsuccessful attempt was made to jump to make the resulting shot.

The publisher makes mention of a bad table roll at 20:30...yes, the table rolled badly, but the shot selection was awful. Zero reason to go up and down on that shot. Dennis would probably tell you the same thing in retrospect.

They became more famous after The Color of Money.
They were crappy tables. Those metal blind corners were nasty. They dinged cues .
The rails bolted through the frame liner outside of the slates. Nasty thuds in them.
A friend of mine had one of them. He couldn't give them away after he went out and got a Gold Crown II.

Dennis is a player that has always puzzled me.The guy was incredibly talented but never won anything! I know he won a lot of local tournaments and higher amateur events but he never made a presence on the pro tour. The way he played he should have won at least 3 or 4 major pro events.

@@Grayback1973 That's not true. He won the Denver Camel 10 Ball tournament, defeating Johnny Archer in the finals. He also won the Players Championship. It was an odd format with 2 halves involved, but everyone was there. He beat Efren, Buddy, Varner. He had a few 2nd place finishes also in top flight tournaments.
