It takes a minimum of" TWO" shots to zero like this. The first shot to see where you hit , a second shot to see your adjustments ! Absolutely no one is zeroing this way with only one shot !!!
Probably works for a rifle that has been broken in before and that likes a particular box of ammo. I use this method in my backyard at 20 yards and then I shoot at paper at 100 yards for all my guns. I will adjust the scope after the first shot and will shoot a 3-shot group before I make a decision in what direction I need to dial the turrets for a good zero. I verify with a second 3-shot group 😅😅
Probably a safe bet to say a new setup will need a 20rd box of ammo to achieve exact sight-in.
