I bought this model around the year 170from Alan Jeffries Motor Cycles in Wakefield Rd. Bradford Yorkshire. I traded in my Triumph 500 Speed Twin.Alan gave me a a short rundown on the controls ,before I wheeled iot down the two stone steps. Alan knew his bikes and had ridden in the Isle of Man Gran Prix.I put the bike in gear to go up the slope of Wakefield road and when I wound back the throttle was amazed and thrilled at the response it took off as its name implied, like a Super Rocket. It was always reliable for going to work and on weekend rides with the Bradford Nomads Motor Cycle Club. I still miss having it at 90 yrs .old. But I have great memories of rides ,like going up Holme Moss and gpong down to Cornwall camping.
Even the latest bikes can not compete with the durability, beauty, and reliability of these old and beautiful bikes.
If I have this bike I will park it my lounge next to me. ❤
I bought a blue one in 1970, can't remember the age of it, but I swapped it for a Gretsch Hollow body chet Atkins three humbucker custom guitar. I said nothing about an exhaust valve being burnt out, he said nothing about the twisted neck ! Swapped the Gretsch for an Ibanez Hummingbird copy acoustic at Orange on Denmark St in 1972. Talk about memories. I loved that bike. while I had it.
