When Tee was mixing at both ZB and BD you did not want to get there late and you never wanted to leave...he was that good...his mixes would take you on a journey with the record....just pure mind blowing mixing the best..and I pride myself in the same manner, the way Tee made you feel thru his stlye and music.See back then Tee knew how to blend to records and make them sound as one.And if Tee was at the garage on a regular rotation the garage would be bigger than it is now in its history.Mr.G

@ edits Tee did better than ANYBODY else -- hand claps and echo chamber. He was the absolute MASTER of the echo chamber. Never too much (which a lot of DJs did), always on beat and, as he explained to me, in "phase." I miss his sooooo much. Love you, brother.

Thanks for that info, also do know why Tony never played at the Garage, and also . . . .i dont tell many this but about ten or twelve yrs ago while wondering through the Village i found a dvd containing the last weekend of Paradise, its not really a good copy but it has two clips of Larry mixing, one of Victor,a quick quick super quick glimps of Mel and Michael, also on the dance floor: C + C,keith Haring, Joey Llanos and David Delpino all dancin,oh and the Marlboro man.I watch it all the time.

This is a really old question and I think the reason you didn't get much response (other than the fact that so many people from that era have passed on) is that back then there really was no competitive spirit like that. These DJs all danced on each other's floors. (other than the fact that not many DJs were allowed to spin at the Garage.) You must remember that they were not thinking, "Oh we should created a new genre of music. It was more like, "Oh that sounds good," or "this sounds good." I watched my brother go from entertaining the neighborhood kids by creating stories by stringing together snippets of songs, to helping to create house music. It was fascinating and a wild ride. Tony, Larry, Tee, Frankie they were all friends and learned from and appreciated each other. I don't think there's much value in coming along 50 years later and comparing who rocked the dance floor harder.
(But for the record, it was my brother Tee, hands down!😁😉)
