**The only guitarist ever to give Eddie Van Halen a run for his money, ladies and gentlemen, MR. RANDY RHODES!!!!!!** The last idol I ever allowed myself to have (they all kept dying LOL). His integration of classical and rock guitar astounded everyone at the time, so much so that they forgot about EVH for a hot minute. In ways he was better than EVH, his use of triplets and amazing chord progressions (mostly classical) for example. Sure a lot of people can sort of play and duplicate (but never exactly) what he played but HE is the one that composed those songs, it came from his brain and fingers. No one will ever come close to what this man accomplished in the span of 2 albums in a few short years before his life was sadly cut short in a *FUCKING STUPID* accident that never should have happened. The music world was robbed that day and every year I hold a vigil an mourn his death. After the tour they were on when Randy was tragically killed, Randy was going to quit playing with Ozzy and continue his study of classical guitar. Can you imagine what he would have been capable of??? The man was only 25 when he died, in the prime of his life. I can only imagine and I mourn the loss to the music world of what this man might have accomplished. Suggestions: *ANYTHING* off Diary of a Madman or Blizzard of Oz will do. I Don't Know, Revelation Mother earth/Steal Away The Night, Diary of a Madman, S.A.T.O., and Little Dolls are excellent choices. Peace

Her facial expressions, as she was enjoying the jams, were too cute. If you guys ever read this comment just know that you have a giant fan back that miss ya!
Great reaction that’s what a lot of people said when this came out, there so many songs off of this album you must go back to it please 🙏 you won’t be disappointed 🎸🔥
It sounds a lot like Black Sabbath, because Ozzie is Black Sabbath lol!. He was their singer for a long time and the music is very similar. Early metal and hard rock. Also, metal has a lot of influences from classical music. Musical structure, notes, time signature changes, etc. Technicality and virtuosity. Especially metal bands from Europe. Black Sabbath early years had more of a bluesy, jazzy influences. The latter Sabbath and Ozzy with Rhodes was more power metal, classical music influences. Randy Rhoades passed away too young back in the '80s, plane crash. RIP.
Bob Daisley and Lee Kerslake on bass and drums did rock with Randy Rhoads on guitar. Check out S.A.T.O. from the same album. The bass and drums are phenomenal on that song. So are the guitar
Thanx for mentioning that, no one ever says anything about the stellar drumwork on these 2 albums, Randy kinda steals the spotlight. Good on you bro!!!!!

the most amazing thing about Randy is he wrote all these songs back to back with Ozzy and recorded two full albums and then went on tour for BoC and 18 months later back on tour for DoaM when it was released.... both albums are so different and for 2 years + he had been on tour with Ozzy when he died. what had he created musically in that time we will never know but I would beat it was amazing... Randy is one of the greatest guitarist to ever live and a musician the likes of we might never see again
The first metal album I heard was Diary of a Madman in 1983. Then I had to get that album and Blizzard of Oz. I started playing guitar at age 3 in 1974, when I heard these albums in 1983, not only did I become a life long Ozzy fan, but idolised Randy Rhoads and have been playing metal guitar ever since.
Flying High Again and Tonight (same album) are gems!!! My mother lost her mind (her name is Karen btw) when I bought this album when it first came out.
Diary of a Madman and Blizzard of Oz are Ozzy's 2 best albums outside of Black Sabbath. I hope you react to more songs off of these two albums. They will not disappoint. Randy was an insane guitar player.
I love "Blizzard of Oz", but this album "Diary of a Madman" to me is not only Ozzy's best but one of the greatest rock albums ever. It would definitely be one of my "deserted island" records!!

**The only guitarist ever to give Eddie Van Halen a run for his money, ladies and gentlemen, MR. RANDY RHODES!!!!!!**
The last idol I ever allowed myself to have (they all kept dying LOL).
Peace
Guess you never heard of Allan Holdsworth? EVH was in awe of Holdsworth.
Great to see our younger generation discovering all kinds of new music, especially metal! Rock on! P.S. Give “You can’t kill Rock n roll” a spin sometime.
Absolutely 🤘
I truly miss these two people. Two of the coolest people that's ever had a UA-cam channel. I watched them everyday. As a guitar player I loved how much Lex loved the solo's.
Randy!! Awesome reaction y’all!
My favorite OZZY song!!
RIP.
one of the all time great metal albums.
Smokin a bowl for the Oz man.
Yes, it's Randy Rhoads, my fave guitarist. Astral travel is what this song is about. Great reaction, much love&respect...
It's probably been 20 years since I've heard this song and it just gave me vivid flashbacks to listening to that solo on repeat for an hour
I sing in a Ozzy tribute band I have an excellent guitar player the crowd goes crazy when we perform this awesome song! Randy was a very special guitar player RIP.
I can tell how much you love the amazing guitar work Lex
Anything with Randy is phenomenal. Especially live. Must do anything from the Tribute album.
the most amazing thing about Randy is he wrote all these songs back to back with Ozzy and recorded two full albums and then went on tour for BoC and 18 months later back on tour for DoaM when it was released.... both albums are so different and for 2 years + he had been on tour with Ozzy when he died. what had he created musically in that time we will never know but I would beat it was amazing... Randy is one of the greatest guitarist to ever live and a musician the likes of we might never see again
Diary was a classic. Flying High Again and You Can’t Kill Rock and Roll are review worthy
Randy is the GOAT
Flying High Again and Tonight (same album) are gems!!! My mother lost her mind (her name is Karen btw) when I bought this album when it first came out.
Plus you can't kill rock and roll.
My mom's name is Karen, and she bought me this album when I was 12, lol.
Randy Rhoads! Lex, you nailed it! Brad, I am glad you enjoyed it too!
Diary of a Madman and Blizzard of Oz are Ozzy's 2 best albums outside of Black Sabbath. I hope you react to more songs off of these two albums. They will not disappoint. Randy was an insane guitar player.
Shot in the dark is a great tune!!
this is Ozzy in his hey day, this is kick ass Ozzy
That drum intro was 🔥as was the guitar solos
I love both you guys. This reaction is why I watch. Great channel.
When Ozzy, Randy and the band, come out of that solo with the rolling drums - it's arguably the greatest moment in metal music.
I love "Blizzard of Oz", but this album "Diary of a Madman" to me is not only Ozzy's best but one of the greatest rock albums ever. It would definitely be one of my "deserted island" records!!
Ozzy is an absolute rock icon!! Just incredible!!
This was Randy Rhoads last album before he died. Check out the album ultimate sin with Jake e Lee on guitar. Killer of Giants is a great track.
Imagine being a famous rock star singer in the middle of gigs after breaking off from one of the biggest bands ever and while on your way about when u see this skinny kid outside the subway entrance playing electric guitar with a little amp and every sound coming out of that amp is new & incredibly raw and at the same time realizing u just found the next hot shot guitar wizard for your new band
True story the way I remember...but u know what happens by the time u tell your grandkids the same story 40 years later
I have been listening to Ozzy for 50 years ans this is one of my most favorite Ozzy songs of all time.. some of Randys most brilliant compositions :) so glad ya'll are enjoying this.
“Noises I’ve never heard before...” love that comment. My favorite rock solo of all time...he’s absolutely shredding. Randy definitely went to the Crossroads.
My top 5 guitar solos
Great Ozzy song. He has lots of great solo tracks.
Sweet! This is one of my favorite Ozzy songs. Thanks for reacting to it. I love the message it sends. And I love Randys solo in this
I remember when this album came out. It was awesome. The whole album is great.
His best album
Ah, back when Ozzy was good. Thanks for posting this one!
One of Ozzy's best songs. One of the best guitar solos of all time. Randy Rhoads. A master.
Randy Rhodes and Eddie Van Halen hit the rock scene about the same time...Rhodes was like a comet who gave us some incredible music, similar training as Van Halen, then, he's gone....I always wonder what if he didn't perish...These two amazing guitar players challenging each other....Over the Mountain, Crazy Train, and Flying High Again are the trifecta of head banging excellence!
Yes, those were the two most talented guitar players in my opinion. They were awesome!
Randy just brought out the very best in Ozzy.
I always assumed this song was Ozzy, being very high on all substances known to mankind, listening to Randy's guitar technique and this is what he felt!
Yes Lex, that was definitely Randy Rhoads! Truly one of a kind. He was classically trained, and really gifted the way he could riff. He just loved playing the guitar!! And Brad, when you said, "I've never heard these noises before!" That was very interesting because Steve Vai said in an interview about Randy, "He was doing things nobody had ever done before."
That’s Randy for you making sounds people haven’t heard before. Just an absolute genius on the guitar taken far too soon. R.I.P. Randy
My favorite guitarist for 40 years now.
