I saw KING KONG LIVES on the big screen on my birthday when the film was first released (1986). I recall it being described as, “The sequel that nobody asked for to a film nobody liked.”

This review is pretty good
I find myself liking the movie quite a bit, it’s like if cannon made a monster movie and while it isn’t high art, it does succeed in being entertaining. It probably has the best music out of the kong movies and is note worthy in being the last kong film with practical effects.

It's not quite on the level of KING KONG VS. GODZILLA or KING KONG ESCAPES, but it's almost as bad.

The movie certainly suffers with 70’s film editing and yes there are many elements that don’t make sense ! Especially why the movie was made !! Thanks for the comments and I hope you enjoy the review 👍

You know what Movie director name John Guillermin and Italian movie producer name Dino De Laurentiis should not Make a King Kong Sequel Called King Kong Lives they should canceled the production and they should sold it to the Japanese movie studio called Toho and they can use King Kong character for there Popular monster movie called Godzilla Vs Spacegodzilla (1994)!
