I immediately subscribed to your channel after having the true pleasure of stumbling upon your review of this Harbor Freight led solar security light! your voice is soothing, instructions brilliant ( and without all of the unnecessary fluff, ego & commentary that 99% of other youtube videos include; which instantly triggers my ADHD -thus, i unsuccessfully attempt to fast forward. ), your tips & tricks were refreshing and had me saying, "wow, i never thought of using zip ties to do that!" endless gratitude! i'm not sure what your profession is, however, i can guarantee that Harbor Freight owes a majority of its increase in sales for this products to you & this video!
I would like to thank you for your video I've been looking at these lights not too sure if I wanted to buy them but after what I saw I'll be buying three of them to install myself one little trick from your solar panel if you make a dip in your wire coming off the roof to point towards the ground water will run down there and drop off the bed and won't travel any further hydrostatic
I didn't realize it would work without the cord plugged in. For 20 bucks this is going in all my camping tents n such. Obviously I'll charge them during the day though.
What are the led`s used? I have bike torches with six Cree led`s that would blind you at fifty meters. These look very dim. What is the output voltage and power consumption?
I have a toggle switch on mine and I am not sure what position to put it in. there appear to be 3 different positions , right, middle, left. the right and left positions seem to just turn the light on, and the middle does not. so I am assuming that it is to be kept in the middle position in order to activate when there is motion according to the other settings you desire. But I have not way of knowing and was hoping one of these videos would help. but no one seems to think this is worth speaking about on their video. a reply from anyone on this would, be great. thanks.
I've been playing around with mine since I have no solar panel and a bench power suppy. the 6v battery can be charged to just over 7v. I'm using 8v and the power supply has dropped to 0.174A and the battery pack is at 7.3v and not going any higher so I would say a 8v DC input sounds about right.
Do I need the plastic anchors, if I am screwing into wood? This is an outside application. Will the cold weather cause frost on the screws and eventually rot the wood?
If you are screwing into wood, you do not need the plastic anchors. Those are for use in Sheetrock. I would not worry about the frost causing wood rot.
This is the third video on this device I have watched and none of you men expressly show what your settings were for sensitivity - time on - or the testing of the light. I only wish one of you had the foresight to allow for that part of the installation., but no.
mine doesn't sense any motion and doesn't turn off when I switched it to the "on" position what would be wrong with it? I left it charge for 3 days in the "off" position and then turned it to "auto" for motion detection after 3 days of charging it doesn't sense motion at all so I switched it on I figured well I'll just use it as a dusk to dawn. That doesn't work either because it doesn't turn off during the day.
I have had it for a year and it still works fine. As far as continuous run time, I am not sure how long it would stay on if you manually turned it on and left it. I plan to do a one year review video soon, so maybe I will try that and report on the results.
It has a switch built into the bottom of the sensor to turn it on manually. It is not designed to have a wall switch wired to it, but I am sure you could make it work if you are handy with wiring.
It does not have a mode where it turns on by itself (without motion) when it gets dark. You can turn it on manually with a switch on the light or have it triggered by the motion sensor when someone walks by at night. It will only stay on for a few minutes when triggered by motion.
Bought 2, both died after 6 months. Batteries died. No return offers by HF unless you buy the extended warrantee. Better quality found at HD or Lowes. Not recommended.
It's virtually impossible to reinstall the star shaped screw device unless your fingers are the size of a 6 year old. Stupid design. 0 out of 5. I returned mine.

How long does it stay charged ? On winter nights does it last 16 hours and fully recharge with just 6 hours of sun ?
I wanna know how to set the light it self up
What are the led`s used? I have bike torches with six Cree led`s that would blind you at fifty meters. These look very dim. What is the output voltage and power consumption?
It's now a few years later. Is this thing still working? Are you still happy with it?

Still working? No battery replacement?
How are the lights after 3 years?
We all have to know about the settings please
How much voltage does the solar panel put out to the battery? 6, 8 or 12volts DC?
Optional charges question .

How many lumens?

My apartment security is done.
Is it still working? How long does the battery last before you have to replace it? (Is the battery replaceable?)
we are the manufacturer of the solar flood light in China. the battery can be replacebale.

+Green Machine Sounds like you got a dud. I would take it back to Harbor Freight with your receipt and exchange it. Good Luck!
+Nick Gardner will do, thanks
how long is the power cord?
The cord between the light and the solar panel is about 14 feet.

Could you run this light with a switch?
It has a switch built into the bottom of the sensor to turn it on manually. It is not designed to have a wall switch wired to it, but I am sure you could make it work if you are handy with wiring.
for the mode? does it have to be motion sensor? can you make it turn on when it is night time.
