I use #2 (small) cone coffee filters and staple them shut. You can write on them (easiest before inserting seeds) and can be reused if you open them carefully. Been doing this for years!
I used to use my husband's medicine bottles to store my seeds, but they are bulky and come in different shapes. Also, it takes too much space in my storage container. This method seems very simple, and practical. I'll try it now. Thank you!
Another disadvantage with plastic bags is that they develop a static charge, and small seeds cling tightly to the inside and it is very hard to get the seeds out. Paper envelopes do not develop a charge, and the seeds roll out easily.

Perfect and No nonsense!
Thank you for these tips. I'm sending some seeds to a friend and this was very helpful.
I use envelopes from junk mail. Just cut in half which makes an envelope with 3 closed sides.
Smart!

We want pretty wrapping paper
is this ok for sunflower seeds?
Works for any kind of seed.
I let my seeds dry for a long period of time.
Then I store them in empty pill bottles.
Is that okay to store them that way?
Yes - provided they are dry.
