Great video and a superb layout! Nice to see the magnetic loads in action too. Funnily enough I just did my own video where I demonstrated exactly the same thing so it's good to see proper modellers using the same techniques! Thanks for sharing 👍
Really? Is that how shunting works? Ram loco into stock at 20mph and carry on? At least have the decency to slow down, stop, wait a moment and then proceed....
Dwight '' Everyone likes beets'' Jim '' No one like beets'' The Us Office Lovely layout....The modern blue/white building juxtaposed with the grimy engines is weird !!!
Excellent! I remember the beet factories at Peterborough, Bury St Edmunds and Wissington very well. I live south of Peterborough and could relly smell the factory when it was in full swing in early autumn.
Im a newbie. Ive seen people have problems with slow speeds on trains where they jerk start and stop. Whats the trick to getting trains to run smooth and consistent at slow speeds?
Wonderful! Where I live in California, there is a large sugar factory that used to get loads of sugar beets by rail. I am currently in the planning stages of building a shunting layout and this gives me some excellent info.
Absolutely beautiful I just love the blue tractor. Interesting to bring industries of days gone by to life in this way. I just love it. Aslam Mahomed Johannesburg South Africa.

Really nice layout great detail and a nice history lesson..
Absolutely wonderful work - so much detail in such a compact space.
Nice to see layouts of specific types of industry.
Really nice layout great detail and a nice history lesson as well a lot going on for a small layout it is a good switching layout as well 😀👍
Sorry, thought British Sugar had 4 factories? Newark, Wissington, Cantley and Bury?
Also guessing this video is over a year old? Or you live together?
Or shot when the rules were originally relaxed?

Just beautiful!🙌 Love these.kind ofayout with lots of informations about local stuff and industries that are probably gone by now in some places :)
Well said👍
Are they Kadee couplings? Kadee seem to make a mind boggling range of couplings. How did you decide which ones to use?
An excellent video and superb layout. Hello from the Tracy Mountain Railway in Colorado, which also hauls sugar beets. ♡ T.E.N.
Lovely little layout!! I’ve not seen so much detail in such a small space. It’s also lovely to see ‘Lord Phil’ in industrial operation.
5:14 Correct me if im wrong, but that flatbed looks to be hauling 1/24-1/25 scale semi truck rims, to look like heavy machine parts.

Were there to be a museum of this industry this layout should be a prime exhibit.
Fantastic!
