I know this video is almost three years old now but... I absolutely loved your playing in the demo at the beginning! That's a lovely guitar too, the Vader model just pretty much always looks good in my opinion
Thanks for checking out my review...I think my newer review videos and quality of the demo's have come a long way since I made this one! Appreciate the kind words, and I def agree! The Vader is a great model, and I've still got this guitar, I use it for almost all of my rhythm guitar tracks in my original music. I've put out a few songs I'm pretty proud of, stop by and check em out if you've got a few: ua-cam.com/video/gUZFQrY1fsU/v-deo.html ua-cam.com/video/rqRs9M_1AVY/v-deo.html ua-cam.com/video/Si0BMCRfJOM/v-deo.html
I'm not sure, I still think the stainless steel frets play into it, my strandberg has a bright attack too. I actually really like the tone of the lithium pickups, I know some people think they sound thin, but I think they're bright and voiced in an aggressive modern tone. Check out my Ibanez/Kiesel/Strandberg shootout I made. I think the Kiesel has got the most balanced tone for both rhythm and lead. Thanks for watching!
khoirus sobri Yeah, the maple neck, stainless steel and pickups are all adding brightness. It’s now offered with the “Holdsworth pickup” as an option. They darken up the sound but still have great harmonics. Thinking of getting a Kiesel Vader with them myself. 🤔
Really sexy guitar, nice playing, and good review! I've been thinking for a long time of ordering a Vader myself, but due to me living in Europe I've been a bit hesitant since I would have to pay for import taxes and fees. Basically, there might be better alternatives for me economically going for a European company like Skervesen or Mayones, the downside being their build times are more than double the wait if a want a complete custom guitar. So, now to my question. How would you describe the neck of your guitar? Did you go for the standard neck option or do you have the "thinner" profile? I'm a bit worried after having heard/read that the necks are quite thick, would you agree? For reference, I would probably say that my favorite necks are ESP/LTD (thin U/D shape) and Ibanez wizard necks. So if you've had any ESP/LTD or Ibanez guitars, how would you compare them?
Thanks dude! I'd highly recommend the Vader, and if neck thinness is something that's a priority I'd recommend going with the thinner neck option. I'm not that picky about neck thickness so I just got mine used off eBay to save a couple bucks, and mine has the normal thickness neck. Its comparable to my J Custom Ibanez's, not wizard thin but not Les Paul/Strat thick lol I've never played a Skervesen or a Mayones although I'd love to! Those are so freaking expensive here in states lol Thanks for watching!
I got my Kiesel used off eBay (the price was too good to pass up) but I'm guessing that they did have to pay extra for it. If you stop by the Kiesel website I'm sure all the info can be found there
It's holding up great! The guitar is aging really nicely, there's a polished part where my picking hand touches the body often but it's barely noticeable.
Upper fret access is unparalleled on the vader. Its better than any bolt on guitar by a long way, and WAY better than the bolt on Strandberg. Congrats on the new axe!
@@aminorerror very cool, and nice playing. I'm going be building a vader multiscale headless 6 string bass soon. Thinking royal ebony fretboard, but this looks badass too
@@craigdines7604 That sounds like a bad ass build! Yea, the cool thing about Kiesel is you can spec is out whatever you like, no other company offers that!
Sick dude, congrats! What models did you go with? The Vader is doing great, still my main axe for all rhythm guitar work. I've just got lithium pickups in mine, which aren't the most versatile but I do like the aggressive tone I'm getting with it. I just put out a new EP with it being used extensively in drop Ab. If you've got a few stop by and check it out in action! ua-cam.com/video/gUZFQrY1fsU/v-deo.html ua-cam.com/video/Si0BMCRfJOM/v-deo.html

oh man, that neck is amazing.
The brightness is definitely due to the pickups man. I have heard and read a lot of people having brightness problem with lithium pickup

@@aminorerror how much did u pay for it?
I paid $1750 Shipped
Hows the raw tone finish holding up?
looks amazing, esp with the zebrawood neck

@@aminorerror good to know, thanks! planning on getting something similar myself
Does it go out of tune if you rest the guitar in your leg touching the tuners?
It takes a fair amount of pressure to turn the tuners, so no you'll be ok. They won't get turned.
How does the neck thru feel with upper fret access compared to the bolt on? I have a Vader coming and I'm curious on how it compares to my osiris.

What's up Rob!
What's up dude?! Thanks for checking out the video!
whats the fretboard made of?
Zebrawood

Holy hell - that’s easily the coolest Zebrawood board I’ve seen! It looks like it’s bending your strings for you around the 5th fret 😂
Thanks! I def got lucky and got a great one, thanks for watching and commenting too
