For hiking, I have a US Army surplus Vietnam War era jacket that I bought in the early 1980s. That jacket had some rough use in construction, on the railroad, and in SAR. It just keeps on going. Wore it three days ago on a hike.
Kevin, put your butter in a small bowl, pop it in the microwave for about 10 ~ 20 seconds. It will be soft but not melt, and you can squash it down much easier. You are working too hard....but luckily that cool bandana will keep sweat from dropping into your mixing bowl. LOL!

I don't do microwaves, so no microwave in my kitchen. I just need to turn on the heat.
