Love your video. Lived in NYC for five years with my late wife...late eighties...early nineties. Brings back so many happy memories. We used to love these four great department stores...as well as the late great Lord & Taylor...as well. They have totally destroyed the main floors of SaksFifthAvenue and macy*s. Too much black and white. They've lost any elegance they had. At least bloomingdale's stayed quite similar. Bergdorf Goodman on the Plaza... Main Floor still looks the same, as luxurious and elegant as ever. Even their escalators. ..with the pale green and glass plates and lighting still look the same. Did they add an additional set as well. I voted ones with Stainless steel on the sides? My late Mum when she came and visited us in Manhattan really liked the Cafe Bergdorf's had on I think the seventh floor?! Is it still there? Again, excellent video. Thanks for the happy memories!

You’re right. BG is still in a league of its own when it comes to elegance. It’s just much more intimate. The racks are closer to you and the lighting is not blaring at you and the music is unison, soft and just enough for you to hum to and carry on without it being distracting. Feels like you’re being invited into some rich persons home and there is a sense of discovery the others just don’t have. Every nook and cranny has something to wow you and there isn’t dead space. The escalators are a vibe and that ground front is spectacular. It’s grande and leaves a lasting impression. Hope they don’t change it to go mass market with all the shop in shops like the other have done. BG has some but it is tastefully done without compromising the essence BG.
