I usually have two opening guesses: ROUTE and NAILS. Together they cover all five vowels and the five most common consonants, so if I can't figure it out on the second guess I find it's a really useful strategy to just use my first two guesses on those :) edit: to the letter Y defenders coming for me - I'd rather have the 5th consonant since there are more of them to eliminate anyway. Y isn't even all that common in 5-letter words so it's fine - in 40 days of continuous play I only missed two words and neither of them had a Y in them lol

I use “adieu” which covers 4 of the vocals and depending on what i get, i try to follow with words that contain y+o.

The most common strategy is to guess words with none of your letters so you can eliminate more
i always start with 'swear' then go to 'point' no matter the outcome. has never let me down
