A flying buttress is like an arch on the side of a building to hold it up, usually on cathedrals and stuff like that
And a lifesaver is a mint with a hole in the center, supposedly so you won't choke if you accidentally swallow it whole

a very interesting one is redactle! you have to guess words and reveal an entire wikipedia article until you guess which article it is (very uncensored, there can sometimes be some themes and words that might not fit your content), but it could make for some more interesting long-form content

So I looked it up, a buttress is “a projecting support of stone or brick built against a wall, a source of defense or support”. It’s basically a support built on building to protect them or support them. The overhead beams on a lot of really old churches are buttress. Cannot answer why it’s called that, probably means something in Latin.
