To my nose Black Afgano doesn't smell like cannabis at all, also it seems that Nasomatto tried to create a perfume based on an interpretation of Tom Ford for Men Extreme from 2007 and use the concept of cannabis strategically just for marketing purposes to catch up with the hype... 2009 was quite a spicy-herbal best sellers year in the fragrance industry! ua-cam.com/video/_EHErMZ9UuA/v-deo.html
@Dim_the_Athenian I'm not an expert on cannabis so I can't weigh in on the fidelity of the supposed cannabis accord. However, I have two bottles of Tom Ford for Men Extreme and, to my memory, it doesn't smell much like Black Afgano. But it's been a while since I've worn BA so I can't say for sure. And living in hot Las Vegas, it'll be a while till my next Black Afgano or TF for Men Extreme wear.
You are the man! I don't always agree with some of your picks, or even critiques of scents. But Sir, I respect the credo you stick to with your reviews and how you do them. I swear I have done more reasearch, reading, and study because of you. I appreciate the steadfast, brutally honest way you tear into scents. I'm exhausted, but I will watch till I sleep and finish tomorrow. Cheers Sir Ramsey! 🎉🎉🎉😊
Congratulations on hitting 1,000 videos, Ramsey. I always enjoy watching your reviews; your extensive knowledge and long format videos are great. I like to watch you while I'm on the treadmill. On the best days I am wearing something you're talking about and enjoying the bloom of fragrance due to the workout.
Man, time goes fast, you shall definitely celebrate 1k videos! Cheers! Most of your videos are about 1 hour long or even longer, this is insane to think about.
I recently got 2 black rim l instant eau extreme bottles. What a scent… The one you show is also the extreme but a version that came after the “black rim” bottles? I much prefer the extreme/edp to the edt because its more smoother and that green/tea note is dimmed down.
There is such an incredible wealth of knowledge in this; if one could be canonized based on fragrance knowledge, I would call the pope straight away. We very much appreciate the time and effort you put into these, you are a WARLORD.

I love watching your videos, man! Specially, while I’m driving or just walking my dog. Love learning about all these fragrances. Kind of inspires me too keep collecting smartly, especially since prices are crazy now and the economy. But thank you so much man for these awesome videos.
Speaking of Féminité du Bois, thank-you for recommending it- I ordered a bottle based solely on your rec- never smelled it before. I couldn’t be happier, it’s an amazing fragrance.
I love Erolfa so much. I don’t know what it is but I find it so addicting I smell my arm all day lol. I have a newer bottle so I bet the older batches smell even better.
Great review Ramsey, always enjoying your new and old content. Can you do a video, ranking your number 1 fragrances from each year, if that makes sense? For example, bel ami is 1986, heritage is 1992, and just ranking them? Cheers
My fav reference vid to date. Shame DSquared axed the Potion line, but they did bring back He Wood to some extent, so maybe there's hope. Caron PuH certainly a reference lavender. 👌
@@RamseytheRam Spice and Wood is a little sweeter on top with apple but they both share similarities with angelica, spices and carder. It might be a formulation thing too.
Plenty of good "reference" cedar fragrances, as it's a relatively easy oil to work with. My cedar reference is Cedrus by Fiele Fragrances: Three types of cedar oil, and it goes through 3 phases as it dries down where it starts out together with black pepper, then orange, and eventually elemi. My favorite from the house is Zingiber, for people into woody aromatics.
My man. Two videos away! 🎉 Let's get some blind sniffs in during the livestream? Or spray some of the most forgotten stuff from the remote corners of your magical curio cabinet of darkness... SOTE nBitor Akelarre. It makes the infamous T-Rex look downright domesticated.
For Cacao check out Serge Lutens Ecrin de Fumee. Really well blended. An improvement upon Chergui. Definitely one of my favorite in the Chocolate,Rum,Tobacco Incense category. I wanted something more than Chergui but also the Incense from Ambre Sultan ( Also good) For Plum , I found Franck Boclet Tobacco to be pretty good Gucci by Gucci Pour Homme for men has a heavy Cypress note. A bit underrated cologne. For Honey/Patchouli mixes I love Giorgio Beverly Hills Giorgio For Men. ( Vintage) Absolutely a top 10 for me.

Just got a 30ml bottle of Jean Marc Sinan V.O Version Originale( gold color one) and wow. It's a bold start yet after about 45 minutes it's really good. The start is pretty bold and offensive. Just give it time to settle. After about 1hr it turns sweet
I really enjoy the Angelica in Royal Cider. I wish I could have a bespoke fragrance that cranks the Angelica up, as I naturally prefer florals over woody scents. Nevertheless Rasquinet created a wonderful scent. Also of note, I’d personally never want to smell of cannabis. I live in the Bay Area and loath how often I have to smell the odor. I actually have a cbd cream, that anecdotally helps with pain, and I will only ever use it when I’m home for the evening cause it’s smells of cannabis. I believe that Jana of the Fragrance Vault has a reference bottle of Balenciaga Pour Homme that I was really excited to smell only to forget all about it when I was in the store. She had me smell a bunch of reference Iris fragrance because I commented on not liking the note/material. She’s a cool lady that, as I understand it, serves as a consultant for Manuel Cross which I found especially cool. I really enjoyed the video. Stay Up Ram

Hi Ramsey, it’s been a while but tonight I watched one of your videos. Cedar, Cinnamon, et al as I needed a diversion after watching nothing but political rhetoric (but god help us if the orange man gets elected.). I still wear perfume every day but only trying to use up what I already have and not buying anything new. Perhaps I should put you in my will so that you would inherit most of my collection. My missing youngest son is now not only missing from us, his family, but lived in Tampa when Hurricane Milton hit. Although I know many other people who lived in that area and evacuated and called themselves safe, my son has not and we do not know if he survived the hurricane.
