A biker friend of mine (when I was a kid) built up a 331 Chrysler Hemi back in the 70's...
I specifically remember this motor as it had so much torque, it had a real bad habit of twisting drive-lines & breaking u-joints when he would really romp on it.

I've had two 331 Hemis. Thats a pretty nice example too ,either rebuilt or very little use . I built one to run on the salt using older style parts, Isky 4 HHH track cam, twin fourbarrels on a bohnalite manifold (had a mopar part number too) ,Jahns 13-1 pistons and bored out to 354 . I was the 1st guy in OZ to run an early Hemi on the salt... until the Ford trans split . Lots of later parts fit them, I had a LA roller chain ,oil pump and electronic distributor .All this when no one else was interested in them... ha ha

I have seen a lot of Dodge trucks from the 1950's with Hemi engines with factory dual 2 barrel carbs. I have a good friend with large Dodge flathead 6 cylinder engines also with factory dual one barrel carbs. He has been driving daily two 1940 Dodge trucks since the 1950's. He has owned and ran a wrecking yard since 1953 that he started when he was 11 years old. He has a large collection of 1939 to 1947 Dodge trucks and a few early Plymouth trucks. His Dodges range from 1/2 ton to five tons.

Had a 331 hemi ina '50 Chrysler New Yorker 4-dr no one wanted. We rolled it on its side and cut the body up with some jet rod, flopped the engine on the ground, and stuck it in a '32 Plymouth coup. Only street legal thing we had on the Ply was a rear view mirror so we could watch the cops as we outran 'em in the chase. That was fun, and before they had helicopters. Good old days were awesome!

That 429 needs a different oil filter on it. If you take a little time to look at how that oil filter is made you will find it is one of the worst oil filters you could possibly use on an engine. It is truly rediculous as to the performance that these expensive oil filters have. They are probably one of the most cheaply made and overrated filters out there. Please, look at the information and compare them to other even cheaper filters and you might change your mind about putting them on such a beautiful engine. I would hate to see your engine get ruined by a filter that just does not work.
