DAYS UNTIL THE HALF MARATHON DES SABLES: 13
A massive 30 mile training run was on the plan in June. This is how I did it. Coming in the next week or so will be a back to back marathon training run and then the main event. The Half Marathon Des Sables.
Thanks everyone and I'll see you soon.

Run Dan, run!
Respect Dan.
I have been walking (not running) the 4 days of Nijmegen 4x50km (4x31miles) this year.
All the best wishes for your goals.
Awesome video Dan . The Meon trail up to Old Winchester Hill is my favourite run ,
After beating up my legs in training yesterday, I needed some motivation to go out today...Thank YOU!
Holy Cats Dan......that's fast! You are a Rock Star!
Just finished my first half marathon this Sunday!
Your videos were definitely a part of what made me do it, so thanks and keep at it :)
Respect to you Buddy! I’m living in America working 9-5 and somehow seem to never find that much time for exercise. I’ve been a follower of your debunking channel for quite a while. Now that I’m following this channel it is a huge inspiration to me to get out and Run after work no matter what. Cheers Dan! One love ☝️ ❤
Lovely to hear 😊
I liked the video at the beginning but then forgot and when I had seen how beautiful the landscape was and how much effort you were putting in I went to like it again and was surprised it was already liked xD I suppose that means if I could I'd genuinely like your content twice for every video!
Ah brilliant your back!
Very nice!
There was an ultra in my town today (33 miles). I didn't run as I am nowhere near close to trained enough to make the distance yet. But it is good to see you getting miles in and in a way spurring me on to get some on my own runnies.
Nice video Dan! Keeps me motivated to get off my butt and go for runs.
Good weather and some nice countryside! It looks similar to some of the areas where my grandma lived near Bromley Cross. We used to hike up the Winter Hill near her place when we visited. There must be dozens of Winter Hills in the UK…every time I found a new one I wanted to hike it.
I admire how disciplined you are in keeping to a set time. It must be hard to resist the urge to move faster and faster as you go along.
New sub! Already a SciMan sub!
My man Dan! You made me feel the running bug again. I haven’t had that since I retired from the military 15 years ago.
Time to start looking at updated kit!
Good run buddy!
Thank you. Good luck 👍🏻
I was just wondering when your next running video would be and... Keep up the good work.
I would say up to 120g today on hard races.(90 is the old :) ) There are some nice calculators out there for this. (Like Umara) It depends on pace/HR and training. As you say on a run like you do i would say 50-60g/hour and then you have rest from the fat. And it works fine on low HR pace. But the more gram/hour the more tricky the stomach can be. Nice run man! I have a 24hour race this weekend so lets see how that goes. One of my heels are not good due to an issue from last weekend :( That race i plan for around 50g/h during the hours i move forward.
Back in 2002 my mother and I walked 60 miles for cancer. She was a survivor and we were both wiped out. I went to work but begged for time off and got it.
Well done 👍🏻
I drive 70 miles, no problem. 😀
Hats off to you Dan!
I did 28 miles in the army and it DAMMIT almost killed me. Very impressive sir!
Too bad ya can't use that crazy "curvature " thing to help you out. I think you're vanishing feets up over the horizon..HA!
Im doing the beachy head marathon, was also thinking about the southdowns ulta, but might be a bit much.
They say Dan loops his member around his waist, uses it like a belt, otherwise it'd trip him up
30 miles (50km) run is very respectable! I cycle and 50km is not something to sneeze at even for cyclists. That's at least a 2 hour ride for me at my average pace of about 25kmh. Running is probably going to be several hours beyond that at least.
30 miles? Wow
I once walked 80.8km and that was tiring enough I couldn't imagine running even 1/4 of that, let alone 3/4 of it on a 60km run!! Just watching you is making me feel out of breath
Hi Dan, do you have a list of your running gear? looking at buying a hydration backpack but don't know which one to get. Nice to see you adding more running video's, they're good inspiration for someone starting out
Hi Stephen, I use an innov-8 5L pack with 2 5 litre bottles personally. That's enough for anything up to 20 miles for me.
@@runmandan7067 cheers will give it a look
While you were running did you notice a curve in the Earth 🌍 at anytime?? Haha
Ouch I can’t even run 20 feet lol
I need more content
It’s coming
You forgot to say "and dusted" 😅
Ah balls
I remember when I was your age and could run, felt strong and felt great. What the hell happened in ten years?
Never too late to get back out there!
Eric dubay new movie: four hours ago. Named: "Why they lie. " You must see it and response in flat earth compilation.
Do you have a trainer setting goals, or do you just wing it?
I have a coach yes
What shoes do you long distance in?
Several lol
30 miles! How many shoes do you go through per year?
About 4 pairs lol
@@runmandan7067 just when you break them in you would need a new pair haha
How much did you run. Did you see earth curvature . Hahah. :-) joking.
Can I follow on strava?
Done. 😉
