    It took me 3 months to figure out the post under the seat was for a helmet. Unfortunately I have a 3/4 helmet XL that won't fit in the seat and has a ratchet clasp instead of D ring. I found online a steel T shaped adapter that slides in the clasp and then has a hole in the end to go over the post. I bent it about 30° and it works perfectly.

      You can lock your helmet with ratchet clasp inside the bucket under seat.

    Pete, Love your Reviews… thoroughly clear and informative, Q.. If using a 50cc Liberty or Primavera on country back roads is it possible to travel distances, not looking for anything over 30mph, just some Country Cruising… Thank You… James.

      Honestly, that's one of my favourite things to do with scooters! Just see how far you can go taking the "out of the way" route to get places. Where I live, I'd have to get a 150cc bike as there are 90km/h roads nearby, but in many places you can wander big distances on small scooters. It's not for everyone, but if you're adventurous, it's worth it! I'm hoping that one day I can buy a scooter to make some content as a long term test vehicle. I think it would be fun to show everything a scooter can really do!

    i drive these at work, but cargo variant and often load it with 50kg + load.. Slow but it has torque and it corners great. Dash dies after two years, light switch soon after. I really abuse Liberties and they last 40-50k km without bigger repairs. Good scooter for sure.

      I'm curious how much a new switch cost. I assume it's a DIY repair.

    Thanks for the detail. The only thing i don't like about this scooter is the size. It seems huge. I used to have a Kymco People 50, which had those same 16 inch wheels, and i loved it. But the body was a bit smaller and lighter than the Liberty. Unfortunately, scooters with 16-inch wheels are almost impossible to find in US. For some reason, companies think we only want those tiny 10-inch wheeled scooters, which abound.

    Ok, how fast will it go? I have heard 50CC will not go over 30mph? I’ve heard 30 because some type of governor is placed to stop 50CC from going faster?

    • @PeterLoweOne
      @PeterLoweOne  Рік тому +1

      I think about 35 to 38 mph is more accurate from my experience. I film in Canada, so we have km/h. They'll go a little over 50 km/h. It will depend on rider weight and other factors on how much faster.

    I've enjoyed a 150 for 3-4 years now. Very practical scooter and the bigger wheels mean they roll a bit nicer and the tires last a bit longer than the smaller wheeled scooters.

    I'm in Nova Scotia. Can I drive one of these without any license at all? I cannot drive a car for medical reasons so I've only been able to ride eBikes for the past 15 years. I want more range. I will be due for a new lithium battery, and a good chunk of that cost would cover one of these. I'd rather get one of these.

    I bought a brand new Piaggio Liberty 50cc in March 2023. Never worked properly since the day I bought it. The engine simply totally stopped responding after some use. I took it several times to the dealer who is an experienced mechanic, took months until Piaggio sent the necessary parts that needed to be replaced. Still, my scooter once again presented other problems this time. Once again it is waiting to be fixed. Piaggio seems to be taking its time to do it. I contacted them describing the problems and all I got is the standard reply that I have two years guarantee. At this rate, it seems that it will spend the first two years in the garage. End result is that I paid for a new scooter in March and still I do not have it. Totally unreliable company, how can you possibly say it is best value for money I wonder. I would not recommend it by any means

    I live in an area where three towns are all linked together. Work is a mile away, shopping farmers market, etc are all five minutes away. I’m a big guy at 5’10” and 230lb. (what can I say, my wife is a great cook 😉). Is a fifty cc Vespa or Liberty too underpowered?

    • @PeterLoweOne
      @PeterLoweOne  Рік тому +2

      It's not that they're underpowered, but the performance will be lacking for over 200 lbs. LOTS of people around the world ride these 50 cc models with two people, and they work perfectly fine, but if it were me, if it were possible, I'd go for the 150 because you can do anything in town, and still hold a safe speed on secondary highways. (That's why I prefer the 150's.)

    • @delm1202

      Under California law this will be a Motor-driven cycle. Which is a motor vehicle with less than 149cc. You will need a M1 license or endorsement to drive this.

    These bikes look better than Vespas

    • @PeterLoweOne
      @PeterLoweOne  Рік тому

      Haha! That's a popular opinion. I like the Vespa look and this look equally, but I'll admit, the traditional Vespa style draws me in, even if I know that these larger wheels are probably better for my type of riding. Thanks for watching!

    $2,599 how on earth do even know if we want to mess with something with no price it's always such a gd secret want a Vespa it's going to be over $4,000. know why cars have a federal sticker price? in the 60's so many car dealers were ripping people off they made a law about it. my son calls me and tells me the motorcycle dealer has a cool bike for $5,000 I gp look and ask the price they tell me$6,000 (not this dealer). i guess i just loo0k more stupid than him
