I love the branches-into-tools carving sessions, Felix!
Thank you very much!
Excellent video Felix.
I was wondering if putting the bend portion in a shallow dip filled with hot water would help with the bending.
You could dig a shallow dip in the ground and place something waterproof in it (tinfoil, piece of tarp, corner of a poncho, etc.) and then pour some hot water in. Place the bend portion in the hot water for 5-10 minutes. Like steam bending for boat building.
Just a thought.
Thanks a lot for your idea... i will try it out....
Thanks a lot for your funny comment!
You could also try heating up the part that you want to bend with fire or steam in order to get a nicer bend. But then you might have to be careful not to bend too far and lose tension.
Thanks for your valuable tip!
Geniales Ding!
Vielen Dank!
Buen trabajo !!👍
Thank you very much!
Hi Felix!! I fairly new to your channel, however, I’ve been binge watching your videos!! You’re amazing with the Swiss Army knife!!! Are you an engineer?!! Or were you born with a Swiss Army knife in your hand? Your projects are awesome!! Your technique have really helped me on my projects at home!! Thank you so much!! Love your channel and content!!! ❤❤❤
Your comment makes me happy. Thanks a lot Hector!
great stuff!
Thank you very much!
Awesome!
Thank you!!
@@FelixImmler you are welcome.
Oh how funny! I made one of these a couple weekends ago on a scout campouts!!! BTW, I do NOT recommend using a black locust branch…. I made that mistake lol…I wasn’t thinking when I went to cut off a small branch and got stabbed by a thorn… our campgrounds are covered in those trees! Along with oak and maple… I ended up using a maple branch instead…. I didn’t use the stopper branch like you did though… I didn’t think about that…. I used a piece of paracord tied around the two ends that I made notches in to keep the paracord from slipping up and down the branch… the tongs worked quite well!
Super, thanks a lot for your fantastic story!
superb awesome trick sir
Thank you very much!
(Hmm muess das zweite Buech au no kaufe ;-) )
😊 danke und liebi Grüessli
Super skill,,,👍✌️🤝
Thanks a lot!!
On a standard 91 mm Swiss Army Knife, 10 cm is from the sharpening choil to the back of the handle.
Thanks a lot for this valuable hint!
Brilliant
Thanks a lot!
Muchas gracias!
Cool video
Thank you very much!
Estupendos alicates fáciles de hacer y efectivos 👌 buen video amigo mío saludos 🇪🇦
Gracias!
Thanks a lot for your tips!
Really enjoyed this episode. What’s the best way to keep your knives sharp.
I like the leatherstrop
Parabénd pelo vídeo
Thank you very much!!
🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥
Thank you!
Hey Felix. Sehr cooles Projekt.
LG Felix
@@FelixImmler ja, alles perfekt.
Great idea! Not too hard of a project either.
Just curious, why put the guidance rod so close to the end? E.g. why not put it further up towards the middle so you have a deeper throat for gasping?
I'm guessing there's a reason - like maybe it doesn't keep things lined up if it's too far away.
The further below the guide rod, the more stable the two ends are held on top of each other..
😮😬😄👍 For a dinosaurus steak ?
Haa ha haa, yes Elefant or Dino steaks 😄
Cooles Projekt muss ich auch mal machen.🤩👍
Grüsse Nicolas🫡
Danke Nicolas!
@@FelixImmler 😃
Last time I am buying only SAKs, I am tired from Chinese stuff, and better I will get the approved products. Good news that Venture is on the market now, but its yet a rare ones. Want to get one, but asking myself, if I really will use it normally. For now I saw it only on the screen. But I don't like to buy blades by internet. I must feel it well, before I will pay the price. I am waiting for a moment when I will hold it in my arm. But its already appeared on the market!😅
Be patient, suddenly you have the opportunity to take a venture in your hand. I wouldn't buy a knife from the screen either... I agree with you!
Can you do a Try Stick video?
Thanks for your idea...
Would it be better to use a hardwood or a softwood for this project?
Thanks, and I always learn something new from your videos.

Why do you think Victorinox does not listen to it's customers? It's 2024 and they have no thumb stud on the main blade, no pocket clip, no bit driver. Are they asleep at the wheel? Yes I know there are various mods for these and there a very very few models that have some of these features. What I am saying they should do is take handful of the popular outdoor models and make a large production run with thumb studs and decent pocket clip. I would say 3 of the large models such as the Outrider, Ranger 79. Then do the same with 4 or 5 of the medium sized. The Camper, Huntsman, etc... please please bring back the Walker it is so light weight and useful. Get in there a bust them up if they won't listen Felix 😆 Your our man with the influence. I mean seriously do they not want to sell more knives?
Jon Gadget made a Video to this topic. Victorinox invited Jon to the head quarter. I hope that will change something.
💪👍👍👍
Danke Sven!
How about heat treating the bend portion? Hot water or even heating over camp fire.
Was meinst du wäre dass machbar?
When I'm straightening an arrow I will wave it over a fire to heat it up and it will bend easier. Would that technique work for this?
i will try it. Thank you!
Hello friend! The wood at the bend must be soaked in water and then bent.
Even if i took fresh wood?
I think, yes@@FelixImmler
@FelixImmler I'd probably put the section that you're going to bend over a pot of steaming boiling water--probably would help with the bend and keep it from splintering. I'd be curious how a different type of wood such as willow would work as it tends to be more flexible to begin with!!!
Würd Wasserdampf beim Biegen helfen?
Ja ich werde das ausprobieren... LG
if you heat the stick over a fire, it will take the bend quite easily.
Thanks a lot for your tip!
Hi Felix. Danke noch eimal. I have messaged you on Facebook. Bleib gesund. L.G. Nigel
another great video , do you sell copies of your book The Swiss Army Knife Book: 63 Outdoor Projects ? if so how could i order one to the uk please . all the best .
hey, wo isch s fleisch?!? cooli zange und alone isch ou cool. lg usem mittelland
Gueti Idee...
Cool Video as always. But for bending I would at least wet the wood... Soak it in water steam would be eeven better, this is how would is actually bent in different shapes...
