You are the only one I've found that is so detailed about your projects. Everyone else will leave out something small which makes it impossible to make the project. Thank you!
Thank you. I really appreciate the feedback. There have been a couple times that I forgot a detail in a video, and I'm working on keeping everything detailed.
Appreciate woodworkers who build with tools that are more "real world" and affordable versus the sort of shops outfitted with tools that most folks could never afford. Also like that you leave in your mistakes and how you remedy the mistakes as this is where many if not most of us actually live. Thanks.
Loved watching this video and prefer this over the 45 degree; seems more traditional. I am new to woodworking and doing it to help with my combat PTSD. Semper Fi!
First of all, thank you for your service, second, my nephew is a Marine (so proud of him) and mostly why I'm commenting is to tell you about Rob Cosman on UA-cam. He is a master woodworker and more importantly, the creator of the Purple Heart Project. He brings in combat wounded vets for an intense hand tool woodworking seminar. Please check this out. I have been a supporter for years now and cannot say enough about what this project has done for the participants. (They have a blast!) You'll see. And they learn a lot of skills to take home with them, along with tools and a strength in themselves to help them into their futures. Check it out!
Super job with the video! I made a star today to go on the spiral tree I made. The star was quick and easy...took just 25 minutes to measure cut and assemble. I used Titebond III and glued the star together. It seems to be holding well. I later used pocket hole screws for added support. I plan to paint the tree and star and will post a photo when done. Thanks for your great videos.
Tree first...then star! Making both today! Thanks for this. I found it just in time for an ornament sale. I hope to use this for display. I like the natural tree and star the best!
Appreciate the details you include. Yes I like the red lined star withe the gold face. I will make some of these myself. I watched your tree video too thank you.
I spent thirty years making architectural millwork pieces for restoring historic mansions. Since most of my work was duplicating original pieces I always had patterns to use . I was at a loss recently when I needed to make some five pointed stars and didn’t have much luck-thanks
Saw this one first, weirdly I've already been building these but love to watch for tips and tricks. The way you make it is so much more convenient, that trick of measuring to 11 splitting and then shaping is a so simple I would have never come up with that without seeing it!
Awesome job Andy!! Love them both!! Both trees and both videos! Awesome job! I have been building and selling the 2x4 trees you did a couple videos back. I have sold 4 sets of 3 trees and 1 single tree
@@cedarriverwoodworking the 2x4 trees with the addition of a star, just cut from a 1x6, $30 for 1 or $70 for a set of 3. I’d love to send some pictures to you but couldn’t find a an email address for you.
Im new to wood working and jst came ac ross your channel i saw the christmas tree video first well done man and thank you im a new sub from Texas i will learn alot from you and yoir videos tjank you

I saw the Christmas tree first. I love it. I will attempt that this year. I hope to roundover the edges with a router to enhance the rounded/wrapped effect
Well done man. I saw the tree video first from a link on FB. I definitely love projects like this and I hope to build my own. Thanks for the instructional videos.
@cedarriverwoodworking I believe most people, from other video comments I've read, like to hear the tool sounds, and the ASMR -like experience. Again, great vids tho! I appreciate you and your time to share.
I like the star video it’s simple and easy to understand and the tree video that the star is on will be trying my hand at building both the painted trees really enhance the spiral effect good job on both.
Great video. I saw this one first. Will need to find the tree video. I like the idea of a video showing how to make sure the mitre saw is calibrated correctly.

Love love the Red White Candy Cane Tree, and I love how you used the sap wood to accent the spirals on the Natural tree. They are both beautiful. Happy Holidays from Austin, Cedar Creek, Texas.
Prefer the 45deg. You are very good at explaining! I just got your video for the Christmas tree [awesome], I'll make sure to catch up on your other videos!
UA-cam keeps recommending woodworking Christmas videos to me. So far this is the first star that I've seen and I really like it. I will definitely try to make it. I don't have a sliding miter saw, just a fixed miter saw, but the cuts are pretty simple, so I don't think it will be a problem. I personally don't prefer the way you painted that one star. I think it would look better if the inner lines were thinner, which would require the chamfer to be probably half the thickness that you did, but the style is nice. Edit: The more I think about it; I think just not having the inner red lines at all would look best to me, keep the chamfers the way they are, they should add a nice shadow, but only paint the outer lines of the star.
I really appreciate the feedback and the time you took to write your response. The chamfers do add just the right amount of depth to the piece without being intrusive.
I really like the plain star and tree. My husband has a bunch of barn boards, maybe he can make a tree out of those? I saw the tree video first. Looking forward to seeing more videos and ideas.
Tree first, both styles are awesome. They each have their own magical characteristics. I am going to give them a go. Thanks for sharing. 12:1212:1812:19

Tree video first!
But question - since my old miter saw only goes to 50 degrees, is it possible to make using your sharp angle jig?
@@charleswv You could but it's difficult. I am working on a video for those people who's saws don't go high enough.
The new video was great! Worked out really well and the results were nice! Thanks! @@cedarriverwoodworking

Like the natural look for both the tree and star. The tree video led me to the star video. Nice pairing!
I'm glad that you enjoyed them both. I tend to lean towards natural but I'm particularly proud of the painted star.
I love how basic you keep the tools when building these. It is incredibly refreshing for people like me who are juat learning.

Trees video first! Love the star and the tree. Looking forward to trying to make a couple for my front lawn.
