I'm a Hindu from India. Dalai Lama is an inspiration. He was the former ruler of a Tibet (An independant Nation which Communist China occupied and tried to have him assassinated), Which is the reason he managed to flee to India escaping sniper fire and Soldiers. The Indian Government under Prime Minister Nehru back in 1950 was ready to provide him assistance in re-capturing Tibet if needed, But he rejected saying - "Violence is futile, Let us forgive and forget". Despite his family and loved ones being killed in front of his eyes by Chinese Invaders, He remains calm and optimistic and preaches love towards his enemies even when his enemies have stolen his Power and Land. Even if you don't consider him Holy, He deserves to be recognized as a "Special Human Being" with a very kind heart. He will always remain my inspiration !
