😟this was terrifying.. I have a Bluetooth bulb speaker. I connected my phone to hear this tale for the first time. I began putting clothes away in my big dark closet. Then the story went really dark . I couldn’t find my phone to shut it off .. I couldn’t turn off the light or I would be in utter darkness. So I just continued going in and out of my dark closet listening to this..😨
Appreciate what you said about the story "going really dark." Most of the narrations I've found do not indicate this shift of mood in the voice acting, glad you found it so enjoyable.
Aah, being of British persuasion, the story, your voice and dramatic adulations readily capture my every attention and send my senses to a place in time beyond the now. I am sitting in central room in some grand forgotten mansion near the girth of a large stone fireplace , wrapped in a wool shawl and silent. The fire casting shadows, dancing upon the dark and faded tapastried walls. I am unmoving, eyes wide, emerged in a tale of cruelty, vengeance and madness that only Poe could write and recited with equally dark overtones. I know not what day or year it is, I only know that i am enraptured.
This has me so pumped. This is certainly my favourite story by Poe, and you probably don't remember but about two years ago I requested in the comment section that you do a reading. This is the first piece of English literature that I became fanatically obsessed with, and I had it fully memorized when i was 15. I was, in fact, so obsessed with this story that I adopted a solid black cat and named it "Pluto" as in the story (though later the cat died in a house fire).
Good to see you here, Unfrosted. Fully memorised? My goodness that is amazing. I have little time to memorize stories, but have much of Tell-Tale and Amontillado by heart...this is a tougher story to memorise I think.
I'm going to major English literature this year, and I've tried to improve my English by reading classical books. but I find it hard to understand and get into the mood. but this, HELPED ME SOO MUCHH ahhhh I reallly love your voice, the bg music and just overall everything!!! thankyouuu!!
I am.so glad I discovered this channel. Your narrations are riveting. I'm a big Edgar Allan Poe fan and you make his stories truly come alive. Thank you!
Grateful you found this narration, as it's gotten buried already in the bowels of UA-cam. Hopefully it does well over time, because I voice acted my guts out in this.
@@TheTalemaster will share it as much as I can! You voice...and especially your laughter is so creepy! I don't know how you get your voice to sound so gravely sometimes but it is brilliant. That madness, the rush, the fear...everything is conveyed so beautifully. Totally coming back for more.
@@prasannaratanjankar Thank you so much Prasanna, sharing on social media really helps my videos, as UA-cam interprets the sharing as popularity and recommends my videos as a result.
Mr. Danielson, here I am again listening to you, and I have to say, despite being horror audiobooks, I discovered his voice calms my mood swings very rapidly
To me, this story rounds out the top 3 Poe tales, all of which bear a similar flavor of confessional madness and punishment, Tell-Tale, Amontillado and this story.
Thank you, thank you and thank you again for this absolutely wonderful narration. I must say it is the best thing I’ve heard in many years. You have truly made my night.
Thank you, Esteban. True story, shortly after the upload of this video one of my moderators was adopted by a little black cat who wandered into his garage. Yes, the cat adopted him, I meant to say that. 😺 He named it "Poe."
@@TheTalemaster not even gonna lie, I haven't even listened to any other. I honestly just was waiting to see if you ever would do it. I read it years ago along with Tell-Tale-Heart, but the narrations are always so much better
Lowkey hate ads mainky cus they interuot my vibes when listening to these. I listen to this and a tell tale heart in english class(hate what we are currently doing) while i worked on my craft book :). Such a spooky voice, fits so well
We try to control the ads, Painting Demon, as best we can, but UA-cam can always override our directives. Sometimes, even when we do not monetize videos, we learn that they still are. We at HorrorCraft never try to disrupt the enjoyment of the stories we read...we must keep "the lights on" so-to-speak like everyone, but ads are always placed in a way that doesn't disrupt stories. If they do, it's not us.
Maestro Danielson! To say I love your work would be redundant, so I won't. Your style, voice and high production value remind me of the NPR program Word Jazz. Do you know it?
Bravo! Poe would be proud. The background ambience compliments the mood of the narration very effectively.
Saw your live chat comment, grateful for this and that as well, Dave!

Aww! Black cats are so adorable. I just love them so much. I wouldn't mind having one for a pet. They are very lucky. (Rich in good luck).

So what is the story trying to say about cats that they are witches ?
Black Cats are bad luck when you pass one. Don't do it. If you do, then you're screwed.
But to answer that question, I'm not sure.
Can anyone summarize the story’s here please
i had a cat with a small patch of white on his chest. good content as im longing to get a black cat.
Get another one!
all my dogs are territorial. not able to get any other pets.
I LOVE BLACK CATS
*me six minutes later*
Well that escalated quickly
I just noticed that Poe kinda had a thing about putting things in walls didn’t he
Poe sure loves to shove people in walls doesn’t he? 🧱😱🧱
The surfaces of houses in general, walls, floors.
Yesssssssssssss!
Who is not a nerd and just trying to get answers instead of reading 🤣😂😂

I hope the cats enjoyed it most.

I was killed EYE

ack! Torturing and murdering a cat!! Bastard!
As #Lovecraft noted: "for the cat is cryptic..."
Really doubt this is Poe
