Hiiii!! Such a random cover to release BUT! Today is my 3rd anniversary producing Niki and I really wanted to do something to celebrate! YAAAAY! OMEDETOUUU NIKIRIKOOOO!!
And what’s better than associating my favorite band with my favorite character ever!
I’m such a big UNISON SQUARE GARDEN fan and I KNOW! They’re pretty popular for their most famous songs (and recent soccer anime openings wowzers) BUT their whole discography is just so good! So if you don’t usually listen to their other tracks I definitely recommend checking them out! Their chords progression always makes my heart feel brighter, it’s so pretty!
Real ones will know why I chose to cover the song Kimi no Hitomi ni Koi shitenai, but I also just LOVE this kind of music in general! It’s just so sunny, so cute and the lyrics are absolutely adorable, I had to make a proper translation for everyone to understand them! (Thank you so much Sami for helping out with the proofreading heh… English was not Englishing)
This song really reminds me of Niki and my yume ship dynamic (oops we’re getting into personal stuff) so as the cheesy yumejo that I am, I had to ask the talented pomu to draw Rikochan and Niki-kun and WOW. They’re the cutest... I literally fell on my knees and cried into my pillow… thank you so so much pomu for agreeing on drawing them again, I owe you my life…

Niki is such an important character to me and I’m so grateful to be able to share my love through covers, oshikatsu or just talking to people about him!
