The Gettysburg Address (complete) by Lord Buckley

- I've heard pieces of this performance/arrangement here and there on UA-cam, but not as a whole. So this would be a good excuse to slap it all together and shove it all up in UA-camland. Plus, Ken Burns is making a documentary on the original speech and I seriously doubt he'll use any of this.
The Introduction and Prelude was taken from the 'Lord Buckley Live' cassette tape and the main piece was from 1992 His Royal Hipness CD on the Discovery label. To be honest, I didn't care for the dubbed violin clouding up the piece, thus the 'Hipness' performance inclusion.
Dig and be digged or dugged or whatever,

"They was blowing up such a crazy, groovy scene that it was double euphoria head."

That's why I'm a Lincoln cat.
Thanks very much for doing this. Everyday is Lincoln Day! Woom up a whap of endless Mardigras!
A look and love of an oratory genius
The Outside of IT ------ BRILLIANT - Spare me.
Came here because Tom Waits said Lord Buckley was one of his influences.
Here in 2020, I can hear the scat rhyming that seems so modern today with spoken word and rap.
(reading his bio, seems he was hanging out with all the coolest montage of people...Cab Calloway, Red Fox, Norman Mailer... Quincy Jones being one of the people to come to his trial... How old is Quincy Jones?! He's worked with everyone.)
Exactly the same happened to me
Samesies
No. Shit. I just saw the Americas Untold Stories about him last night, and this could literally be a track from nighthawks at the diner. Too cool.
hip to the cool groove of liberty .... c ya what a fucking legend
Such a cool cat!
Oh, baby....I were receiving this cat's message.....
You better prepare yurseff.....He's in heaven !
awesome !!!
Buckley was talented, but pretty much a one-schtick performer (performing "hip" versions of well-known orations and descriptions of historical figures). He was a kind and generous individual, as described by those who knew him, in Oliver Trager's biography. A little bit of him goes a long way.
I’m here because of the ridiculous crime podcast
“We used to call him Snyder!”
Everyone here....recognize !!
