    VGT outperformed SCHD and VOO over 5 and 10 years. Despite having most of my $500k retirement in VGT, I try to beat my Roth with my taxable account but still underperform the S&P 500.

      I'm taking a hybrid approach with VGT, SCHD, and VOO as my foundation over a 20-year horizon. I still enjoy life, travel, and buy what I love. It's the best combo, plus I enjoy the small victories of dividends, dividend growth, and share price appreciation.

      ETFs are great, but don't rely solely on it for retirement. I retired at 62 with a $1.5M portfolio, starting with $35K, thanks to an adv1sor and dividends. Invest wisely, build your nest egg, and don't sell the chicken that lays the egg!

    The difficulties that the current generation faces are quite depressing. I wanted to know how to use some money that I had. I used a small portion of it for online sales, but that failed. My primary concern is safeguarding my $300K stock portfolio from loss, but I'm not sure how to go about it.

      Yes, things may be difficult now, but I've realized that there are always possibilities to make significant gains in bear and bull markets, recessions, and economic booms. I used to call people out when they boasted about making a fortune in these down situations, until I actually did.

      Nice. People often underestimate financial advisors' importance. Over 50 years of data reveal that those who work with advisors typically earn more than those who go it alone. I've been fortunate to work with one for 13 years, resulting in a $1 million portfolio, largely from early investments in AI and other growth stocks..

    I already have SCHB, VTV and SCHD in my retirement account. Will it make sense to still add QQQM to the portfolio, knowing that SCHB is a blend ETF that has some growth stocks within it? Thank you

    • @daloriscutone6380
      @daloriscutone6380 Місяць тому +1

      My portfolio just cracked $50 million this week Grateful !, .... it depends to your inclination to the growth sector. Surely with the ETFs you mentioned you're strongly tilted towards value, regardless of SCHB. Almost all of the companies in QQQ are already in SCHB, but people should't overreact to fund overlap: if the you buy QQQ to increase your overall weight on growth compared to your current portfolio, there's nothing wrong with it. Honestly, I can hardly suggest anyone not to have QQQ or QQQM in their portfolio

    Thanks Mate, the sad truth is that no one has a clue, we all react to what happens as it happens and try to analyse it but can’t predict an iota of what is going to unfold in the markets… content creators are like amplifiers, when times are good they affirm it and try to tell you why it’s good and that it’s looking bullish but then all of a sudden the market turns bearish and everyone affirms it again and try to analyse why… it’s so sad that many are so powerless and it's not about guessing the market's next move; it's about playing it smart and steady during trading...managed to grow a nest egg of around 2.3Bitcoin to a decent 19Bitcoin in the space of a few months... But my first step to go further is to hedge my positions if any Black Swan appears, there are some reverse ETFs (S/X), or a more active roll using active derivatives manadgement, like buying long puts, or even a resignation towards an ETF of treasury bonds like Vanguard has. I know that this is a GDP worth question, but how would you hedge your positions today?

    Hi Professor. I'm just starting out (55 yrs old...) I'm interested obviously in a shorter term growth. I've started with Trading 212 and created a pie which is basically the magnificent 7. What are your thoughts on this? I'm not sure about the difference between ETF's and pies and if you can basically create your own ETF? Cheers.

    Prof G - you talk a lot about SCHD. Could you do a video on global Dividend ETFs? It seems the US provides lower dividends than the rest of the globe's countries. Maybe one could get a higher income stream from a "total market" non US ETF. I wonder what your thoughts would be.

    Interesting clip, but for the period 10/09/15-07/03/25 and last 10 year period, all your three recommendations (SPMO (inception 10/09/15) , XMHQ and XMMO) have underperformed relative to VGT by 200% or more. Only in the last year has two of your three outperformed VGT. For my money, I’ll stick with lower fee, higher dividend and better performing VGT.

      I realize that my comment sounds like "timing the market." This is a tough one. Your suggestion sounds possibly ok to me as part of a dollar cost averaging plan. But I hope people don't over react to it and go overboard. My thinking is it's time to go more into VTI and Dividend and Treasuries. Reversion to the mean is a powerful gravitational force. It seems to me like gravity is overdue. For the first time I'm also seriously considering buying into the ex-US market.
