Tobias is awesome and is a veteran of the underground Scandinavian extreme metal scenes.

*Imagine Dick Dale & The Dead Kennedys doing Black Metal =).. You can clearly hear what* *they are trying to achieve & the potential is just staggering.. but it just frustratingly comes* *up short.. & 5+ years to record a new album is just not good enough for artist, or fan.*
I can clearly hear that they don't sound like Dick Dale or Dead Kennedys (no "the") at all, beyond a predilection for drenching everything in reverb. This album is a fucking masterwork of atmosphere - one of the finest efforts ever put forth by a USBM band. The aural equivalent of wandering through a cobweb-covered haunted church. They can take 20 years if they need it to maintain that standard.

Just listen to Immolation, Incantation, Autopsy, Dead Congregation, Blaspherian etc.
