This reminded me of a neighbors window sticker that said "this house is protected by Shotgun 3 nights a week. You guess which 3". The town I lived in had 99% gun ownership, so we didn't have any issues with break ins. Nobody that stupid. No one knew who the one family was that didn't own guns.

One of my favorites: “Nothing Inside Is Worth Dying For.” They can take it as a warning, and you take it as a reminder that it is just stuff. However, if you or a loved one is inside, that changes everything.

Having been a locksmith for over 40 years I don't recommend WD-40 for the lock. It gums them up and it will seem good to begin but makes it worse over time. It does have its purposes but just not locks you want to use a dry film lube such as Super Lube.

Amen girl. I'm 67, but 10 years in the military and rolling a semi two separate times has taken its toll. However... even though I'm slow and walk with a limp... people tend to take one look at me when I'm hiking out west and head away. On my left hip (left handed) is a 13+1 .45ACP. On the right in a cross-draw holster is a .357 Mag with snake shot. I'm protected from four, and two, legged predators as well as those that crawl! I'm not scared... I'm prepared. I also installed an alarm on my class A. Open the door with it on, a 135 db siren goes off. BUT, I bought a pair of those tiny horrible blue-white fog light at wally world as well. One is mounted under the cabinet at the bathroom wall aimed at the door. The other one is mounted on the curtain rail at the bedroom aimed down the middle. If someone breaks in (I disabled the outside door handle on the driver's door. Never used it anyway) they are blinded by the lights... and I'm behind them with a 12 gauge pump shotgun..............

My wife and I enjoy your videos and look forward to the new ones. I have some input here on carrying a firearm anywhere. We own a concealed weapons school here in Michigan, training hundreds of people. If not handled right, carrying a gun can be a detriment to your safety. If you choose to do so, it should be the best-kept secret in town. When you have hit the point of last resort, that's the time to expose the firearm and USE IT. Too many people think a gun will intimidate someone who means you harm, it doesn't. When that time comes (hoping it doesn't) the only sound an attacker should hear is the safety be set to the fire position if that. Don't negotiate at the point of last resort...you are long past that point. Hope this is helpful here.

Tom, good info. I am a recreational RV in a very small RV, 12ft in length hard wall. Anyway, I really like camping and have met so many nice people from all over the North American. My view is that camping is like stepping back in time where people say hello, ask if you need help and are basically friendly. I haven't experienced any real negative encounters as of yet. I'm a 64 yr recently retired male who's camped for decades and I camp alone and in groups sometimes. I'm sorry to hear that you went through this scary experience and I hope that your future RV living is much more positive for you all. Stay safe and as you say, Enjoy The Journey. Take care.

The few times I've had people approach me like they were going to rob me, the sight of the holstered Glock 19 quickly made them re-think that decision.
I've traveled the world in places both good and bad, in uniform and out, and you just develop this sixth sense for people's intentions.
And if - God forbid - it does come time to put 'em down, don't hesitate, don't talk, just get it done and immediately dial 911.
I flat out refuse to set foot in any state that doesn't recognize my carry permit. They won't get a dime from me.

I think most gun owners believe that you have to discharge a weapon to thwart crime. Not true. I also have a carry permit but I don't open carry because I will be the first person they take out. I'm 60 years old and always carry my small Glock 43. Twice in my life all I had to do was to display it and they turn and walk away. Never pointed it at anyone, just showed that I have it.

I agree 100%! I spent the past 10 years doing armed security and, wore my sidearm on my right hip every day while patrolling. I had many encounters with Johnny badass types, ALL of which told me they were going to kick my butt but, unfortunately, they had to be somewhere else just then. (I got to watch their eyes move from mine, to my right hip while they were telling me this....very obvious) I never had to even put my hand on my holster, never had to make any threats and have never even pulled my gun but, it has saved me countless times just because...it was there. (I am in my 60's)

Another tip.... keep ALL key fobs inside an RF shield type pouch. You can buy them under $20 on Amazon. It prevents ‘techy” crooks from using these new scanner tools to pick up the signal (some from up to 300 feet) given off by ALL, yes ALL key fobs. Once they have the frequency to an individual key fob, they use it to remotely open a door and/or start a vehicle when your asleep or away from it. They just wait for you to leave. I know this because I was assigned to an auto theft detail for years.

If you are driving a Class B or C or van take the seat belt and put it through inside door handle and snap it in 2 the buckle. This will add another layer of protection to keep people out of your RV while you sleep. Even if they find a way to unlock the door it will be difficult for them to open the door because the seat belt will not allow it to open fully

Another tip.... NEVER have a sticker on your vehicles that say anything to the effect that you have “fire+arms” inside. Example: “NR.A” type stickers. They just tell a burglar that your RV or truck is something worth breaking into. Or.... they might fake a claim that you brandished the “tool” at them, when you didn’t. It just causes you more problems. Keep a low profile with that stuff.

There is a built in safety feature in the propane switch that will allow a minimum flow from the tank that is not selected when your main tank is empty. So leaving the spare tank on is a good thing. it will ensure propane refrigerators will not stop when both tanks are on.

I carry a .22 Gamo Maxxum Break-barrel pellet rifle, it's fun for target practice with a small metal target ( I love birds so I am never tempted to illegally shoot them) we take it with us when we travel. Walmart stocks them sometimes, they sell out fast. The Gamo Shadow Whisperer is a nice inexpensive pellet gun that they stock frequently. I also carry a Bo, a 6' hardwood martial arts staff and Jo, a 4' hardwood staff for hiking and exercise. The 6' Bo fits perfectly in my RV's tube bumper and is always ready when I am pumping gas. Google Bojutsu, you can always use it for walking and as a weapon, I also use mine as a simple machine such as a leaver/fulcrum and roller for moving heavy objects, it inexpensive and the oak one is durable. It builds incredible confidence and upper body strength.
