Oh I remember these ads on TV. I think you're right Kappy - around 72. I would have been about 12 but I got into Donny Osmond before John. My older sisters loved John. ❤ I fell in love with him in 1986. I didn't even know he'd been with LRB until later. I was involved in a very strict church life then and wasn't allowed to listen to secular music but no one was going to stop me listening to Whispering Jack!! And my kids love him too ❤😂🎉

That will tell you if it was pre or post marriage to Jilly? (1973? Actual date must be listed somewhere? ). Well, the bills need paying, need to put food. on the table! Can't help but think how much he had to endure to pay the bills etc. I think John's success is due to his belief in himself and the ditching of his old manager who nearly destroyed him. What a bloody legend! The right people appeared and the rest is history. He's been writing his "Memoirs' and it should be released later this year. Wow now that should tell some stories lol. This one's a few years too early for my memory, but it's hilarious how Cockney he sounds, like he's in Oliver the musical! Our accent has definitely morphed a bit since then. I grew up in Brisbane & remember him doing an ad for Grundy's On the Beach entertainment park on the Gold Coast, circa 1982. I had no idea he was going through such hard times; nor the incredible revival that awaited him just a few years later 😊
