This is precisely why America has banned these cars because the American auto Market would be murdered if these showed up. The price range and options you get are unmatched
Yeah keep dreaming, they would cost way more in the US even without the tariffs, not to mention that the demand for EVs in the US is quite low. There are many other problems they would face in the american market. Even if they became popular in the EV space they would be far from killing other ev brands, let alone the whole american auto market. Stop repeating the same stupid slogans and just think for a second, yall sound like a bunch of broken records.
@Legitplieerr spoken like someone who has not done a minute of research on the topic. What are other "ev" brands? Did you know Tesla buys their batteries from BYD in China because they are superior? Yet we have Tesla batteries in our cars here. I've had to replace the battery pack on my model 3 at 70k miles. Watch or dont the CNBC special on Chinese electric cars, American electric cars are a joke compared to what they have there. And as for cost in the countries where they are available like in south America and Europe they are priced cheaper than Teslas and BMW electric vehicles while having better performance and range.
@ buddy this isn’t a name the car game. I own an electric car I shopped around, I should have went with a Volvo since they’re Chinese. Plus they have better build quality and customer service. If I was looking at a truck I’d get a Rivian over that ugly POS cyber truck
@@203null Indeed, Waymo is currently the leader in the US when it comes to driverless car technology, and Tesla isn’t even close to matching their capabilities. While Tesla has been working on its Robotaxi project for the past three years, the number of accidents involving Tesla vehicles, even with supervised drivers has consistently exceeded Waymo’s accident rates by a significant margin. We had Chinese EVs here in Singapore which already become the most popular in new car purchase. So I take note on how clean China is instead of the car
I saw this car pulled up next to me tonight in Dubai. It’s very sleek and good looking. I am already a happy owner of an Xpeng G9 Performance, but another high end Chinese EV is on the horizon!
Avatar is not that 'high end'. If you are looking at Huawei related, then probably Wenjie M9. Other more high ends would be BYD yangwang U8/U9, Xiaomi Su7 Ultra, Zeekr 001FR, etc
I miss what his background is. He acts like he knows everything but for me its just a car owner. So he can talk about how well it behaves but not which tech is needed.
Give it time... China made massive investments which they're benefiting from now, but that doesn't mean all opportunities are gone. Other countries can catch up.
The driver is a great person to conduct this type of interview, very calm, collected and knowledgeable. Hwawei's autonomous driving software is exceptionally good, indeed!
Consider the complexity of Chinese roads (the amount of cars and electric scooters and people), I’d say the FSD developed there will be way advance than anywhere in the world. I’m buying one for sure if they are here!
@@lomileage I don’t think India’s roads have any reference value. It just too chaotic and not relevant for most other countries. China is decent place.
the absolute confidence the owner/driver shows while on ADS shows just how impressive the ADS actually is. at 36:36 - he didnt even flinch and had such a strong confidence it'll work. wow. Again this showcases not only is China ahead hardware/manufacturing wise, but also their software is just as good if not better. Also the price. wow. I understand why regulations/tariffs are put in place, because otherwise american auto industry will get smashed and many jobs will be lost, but it also would've been cool to get purchase a vehicle thats so capable and priced so well.
Consumers in the West are essentially living in an information bubble, completely insulated from China's technological advancements, largely due to mainstream media's anti-China propaganda.
Bringing chip factories back to u.s is another mistake. It will affect their manufacturers like iPhone factories. Soon there will be a Chinese/Indian that give twice the value and half the price
Why would you think the US auto industry won't get smashed when these Chinese manufacturers start exporting their cars offshore at large scale? An US market + Canada cannot feed up all those brands.
People here forget or don't know that Chinese leaders in the 80s were not afraid to let foreign makers in because they negotiated joint ventures that allowed for new jobs in China and more advanced foreign cars for Chinese consumers (taxis, business or government fleets as most individuals couldn't afford them). Western governments can copy the same approach but you can speculate on why they won't do it.
You need to try this car parking ability in a big mall. Basically you drive to any entrance of the mall, use your cellphone to direct the car to do a self-parking in the mall parking lot, after shopping you come out at other entrance, use the phone to call the car and it will autonomously come to you at the second entrance.
In what way is it better? Looking at details it seems like FSD 13 by Tesla is just a bit ahead of this. Comes very close in any case, didn’t know another company was so close to full FSD as well.
I drove an XPeng P7+ in a 3000km round-trip during Chinese New Year, 95%+ of the way was based on autonomous driving... It really made the long-range driving much easier than before (especially combined with seat massage).
As someone who doesn't live in either China or the US, I expect to see Chinese cars with advanced driver assistance here long before it's available on Tesla. Currently I drive a chinese manufactured car (Polestar 2) which is amazing, but I expect to update it in a couple more years and really look forward to what I can get then...
Crucially, Huawei's assistive driving system can operate at speeds of more than 100 km an hour on motorways, unimpeded by fog or heavy rain. Tesla's FSD couldn't. Without the use of a lidar, the camera can't quickly identify obstacles in the dark when a vehicle suddenly enters a dark tunnel on a sunny road, instead, the same thing happens when a car comes out of a dark tunnel onto a bright sunny road.
That is amazing! Simply amazing! Difficult to believe such a level of autonomous driving is out there at this price point. Results wise, it is indistinguishable from how a competent and confident driver would drive. Gobsmacked.
Indeed, @JamesBond-qv2ht, I have not driven using Tesla FSD, but I do know Teslas can't be left at the entrance to a car park so that they go find a parking space by themselves and then come back to you from wherever they ended up parking. @Brian.z6592 agreed that Tesla would not do better in Chinese road conditions, at least not in its current form. Tesla would need some behavioural tweaking and training, same thing applies to Huawei being used in the USA and elsewhere outside of China. Training would be needed, but the raw compute and sensor power is there, I am sure. Huawei would additionally have to overcome the possible resistance to having Chinese tech in USA vehicles. There are also tariffs with which to contend and let's not forget Elon's proximity to the USA administration.
That original Avatr 11 featured in this video is a bit too weird looking to my taste. But their more conventional Avatr 07 is IMO the best looking crossover on the market today.
There are misperceptions about the China's quality imo. The Chinese always produce similar quality (good/bad) with lower price or better quality with similar price comparing to the rest of the world. The products we used to upset about were literally the one that sold way more cheaper in China but being overcharged by proxies in our countries. We get what we paid for and we're being overcharged so surely the expectation gaps is huge. I honestly don't it's fair to blame them.
The same manufacturer produces different quality products, and the China factory prefers Japanese importers, who demand higher quality with higher quotations. Consumers believe in these high-quality "Japanese products" and are willing to pay more. There is a true story that many Chinese people travel to Japan, spend more than 10 times the price of rice cookers and toilets, and struggle to move home. Finally, it was found that these manufacturers were from Ningbo, Zhejiang Province, in their hometown.😂
The turn signal can be adjusted, for example, when navigating to a certain intersection, the headlights can automatically turn on, and when switching to another lane, the turn signal will automatically turn on
Automatic high-beam headlights are used, and the system will automatically switch the low-beam headlights after the oncoming vehicle in the opposite lane.In Huawei's more advanced vehicles, Aito M9 has the functions of steering high-light, light blanket and ground projection.
It is that cheap because they don't make money on it, they receive money from the government. Only Tesla and maybe BYD are making money with their EV cars.
@ u mean by adding another 30k as their (Tesla) profit ( with the new model y price) ? Normally a car making doesn’t cost much n its just the software these days that is being portrayed as as expensive. U can convert any regular car manufactured after 2015’s n plug in after market FSD’s.. n the recent CES has proven this. So , technically , every manufacturing company makes their margins, but the margins depends on raw material, labor cost n overall making cost.
@@nhtna4706 one, they didn't add 30k. Two, don't care how good your car is, if you're not making money, then you won't last. Other manufacturers uses their gas cars benefits to fund their EV, or use government funds, which isn't a long term thing.
Last week Deepseek, and now today we learned there is an equivalent to supervised FSD all made in China. This is all great news, the US should not have a monopoly on technology for obvious reasons.
The fact that you can cover all the cabin cameras and the car still drives is mind-blowing, while Tesla's FSD won't work at all if the cabin camera is completely covered

Now that's some awesome advanced driving !!! That's more like a human driving than anything I've ever seen, but better, it's constantly paying attention.
To be frank.. German guy with American guy testing Chinese car .. watched by Indian guy.. that's fun. Car was really fun to watch, and the confidence in it was far better than the human driver.
Looks very competent, more than I would personally need on 90% of the cases!! The best case going for it really would be driving in a newer, bigger, and more confusing city to drive that you've never driven before, where many times it can be difficult to pick the correct lane for your destination (even with GPS), but also difficult to correct lane change at the last moment due to increased traffic flow.
Wow and thank you for demonstrating true self driving. I've been an EV driver for several years currently have two Chinese EVs. Neither has this level of driver assist. I'll upgrade when I can get this level. It will be another Chinese car as value for money and reliability are important to me. US mafia like trading practices under present administrations eliminate the US as a supplier on moral principles.
This is truly incredible. I’m disappointed in technology available in America & frustrated with Tesla for using limited sensor technology. As someone who lives in an area with extreme cold in the winter, I think the next step is to ensure that the sensors have heaters, anti-foggers, washers to ensure that no matter the situation they can be cleared automatically. I’ll pay extra for a sensor focused car that’s limited in performance any day
@@theaypisamfpvis not true, Lidar works in PERFECT in fog, snow etc. because it works on laser reflection. I work on lidar based robots in Germany, we use them all the time in snow, lidar works in all weather.
As a Computer vision specialist i would say Lidar is the way to go for Vehicles because its much more secure and offers the system a stable platform to do calculations, while cameras only system always gets tricky and could lead to more unpredictable situations and accidents

Lidar works much better in low-light conditions as its depth perception is never compromised. Likewise, in foggy conditions radar is unbeatable as fog doesn't block radio waves. Lidar and radar sensors are incredibly inexpensive in China now and modern AI makes sensor fusion trivial compared to hand-coded systems of the past. The bigger takeaway here is that autonomous driving will soon be considered a solved problem: implemented in average cars, globally, and at reasonable competitive prices. Any existing technology moats are rapidly narrowing.
Yea, I'm surprised why lidar is such a financial hurdle. There are plenty of really cheap lidar on chip solutions. Not sure if they're not sufficient in some way...
One interesting thing people might not be aware of is it’s actually more relaxing to be driving in China as people won’t go crazy on you when you make a mistake either consciously or unconsciously. I’m a whole lot more conscious when on the road in North America
A video like this needs to be a wake up call to all those people that blindly believe that Tesla is the only option for FSD and that Elon’s assertion that vision only is going to be perfect. For me, I would still prefer to see my FSD car fitted with vision, radar & LIDAR. The extra costs of these sensors are easily absorbed in the price of a car.
LIDAR sensor price is now $200 dollar. In night driving, and high speed, you would be crazy not to have LIDAT that "sees" in dark, Tesla made a big mistake taking it away..
Tesla cars are capped... It will not move beyond level 2 since there's too much limitations. Stop believe Elon's hype, he lied FSD just like he lied about his gaming skills. You see the pattern there?
@ It's just ridiculous to ban Chinese cars, meanwhile everything else we buy is manufactured in China and we're okay with it. Let the cars through! lol
Absolutely fascinating. The world is changing fast. I do love to do my own driving, but on a long trip it would be really nice to have very good driver assistance to help keep us safe in case I get tired or distracted or just so I can look at beautiful scenery knowing that the driver assistance is fully concentrating on the driving.
Why ? We haven't seen FSD there, and for me, both systems are close. Hardware ? Cameras are the only way to go, lidar is shit in bad weather, and with lidar, you have to use cameras to read signs and other things, so why not use only the camera.
@@theaypisamfpv I guess you did not follow video that carefully. Every system is using cameras. Some then in addition radars + lidar to make it more reliable. For now that is for sure better way to go. And as Lidars + radars are getting even more inexpensive there is not real need to drop them either. Tesla FSD while also amazing piece of software is sometimes screwing up as it only one set of sensors it relies on. Maybe there is day in the future that camera only system in reliable enough, but certainly we are not there yet. Until that it is only solution for 'cheap' cars ... and for Tesla.
@@mho0 I know every system uses cameras. Why Tesla only using camera is because a lots of accident with autopilot where due to sensor conflicting. On one side you had the camera saying it was a truck on it's side, on the other side the radar was saying it was only a highway sign Which one do you trust? Yes lidar and radar are great, but you can't trust lidar in bad weather (so that makes one sensor that useless) and radar isn't accurate enough (you can't have military grade radar on regular cars lmao) On top of that, there have been reports of smartphone cameras getting destroyed by lidar. On both scenarios, you have to use cameras, with lidar, camera to read sign and lanes line, with radar, well to see everything. So when you have scenarios where lidar and radar are useless, and you can only use cameras, why use lidar and radar in the first place. As a level 5 system needs to drive in bad weather, and you can only use cameras, then you would need a system that can drive with only cameras in bad condition, and thus also in good condition. So, why use lidar and radar when at the end you need the camera to be able to drive on their own ?
Totally blown away by the natural way driving and the inputs being gente and in accordance with traffic flow .Nothing out of the western auto industry is close to this . And a second big factor was the pricing of this cars mentioned in the video again nothing here in Europe competes with this .
I've known that the FSD systems in China were really good. Close to Tesla in the USA. But this is, dare I say it... better? The fact that Kai can pay virtually no attention at all [perhaps none?] is a major jump forward, and as Kai says, it does the difficult things well. There's a surety about it that is amazing. The regional or different cultures can be adapted to. And this is Huawei, so it can go in any sufficiently equipped car. I'm convinced. This could be the yardstick by which every other system is measured. Great video.
U.S. lawyers would sue Tessy into bankruptcy if there was an fsd faulted crash, so no ishh that Tessy isnt going to go unsupervised UNTIL the chance of a lawyer getting a multi-billion settlement is 0.00000% I doubt China has those issues
"The act that he can pay next to no attention is good" How is that good? Htat shows that the attention monitoring seems to be too lax if anything. Worse attention monitoring doesn't mean a better system
@ So you missed the bit where he could turn the driver monitoring off or on? Thing is, driver monitoring is required when the system needs to occasionally rescued. This software system is effectively stating that it doesn't need the driver. That's Level 5, and although Kai didn't mention it, 95% of the time the system was at Level 4.
@ramblerandy2397 I didn't miss it, I think it's a dangerous decision to make for a system that isn't ready to go driverless, which this isn't. The video had a lot of situations where fsd users in the US would have disengaged considering how it was handling it, but here they didn't. If you just don't disengage no matter what, then it is quite easy to get a system that doesn't need disengagement.
Consumers in the West are essentially living in an information bubble, completely insulated from China's technological advancements, largely due to mainstream media's anti-China propaganda.
The price alone makes it incredible. If Huawei can export this car to markets where they are allowed to operate, it will be a serious competition to VW, Toyota, etc. Even without the FSD, the self parking and pricing alone on this makes it attractive to me.

It’s true. And over half the US is crying and fighting back against this adoption. We had an advantage in AI and Self Driving, but we are losing it fast. Tesla is the only company trying to make this happen within a reasonable timeframe. I’m worried that we are about to lose the AI race and china will soon dominate the entire tech industry uncontested.
@@DeliverQuality This isn't too predictable. It's a common US cycle. Look at the car industry in the 70s and the arrogance they displayed. Who lost that battle? The "enemy" at he time was Japan. Great video as always! I have 2 add-ons, why Huawei is banned and consider trying a DJI Action 5 Pro. Why Huawei is banned. Objectively, there is no evidence at all from US showing Huawei is not safe or has any backdoor, and on the other hand, Canada and some other countries even told US that Huawei was very safe and we did quite some security checks and tests and could show you all that, but US was like no no no, you didn't understand, it's not safe. According to US government, there is security issues with using Huawei phones and signal towers and infrastructures. And I think the signal towers and infrastructures might be a more important reason. Huawei got quite a lot of patents in 5G and can offer very good signal towers in lower prices and this was regarded as threats for US. US never showed any evidence that Huawei was not secure. And Huawei got banned by US first and later on quite some other countries who had no choices but following what US urged them to. I saw the GoPro you used died twice because of over heat issue. I remembered seeing some comparison videos showing DJI Action 5 Pro and GoPro and one or two other brands on how good are they on over heat issue. DJI Action 5 Pro was the only one that didn't got over heat issue during the 20-30 minutes recording in a balcony in a sunny day. Probably worth trying it so that less over heat headaches in future episodes. Thanks for the videos and hopefully there will be more competition in North America!
The real reason US and it's EU ally ban Huawei is not for so called "national security" but "competition", or impact China economy cause Huawei touches their cake in Telco, Smart phone and Vehicle (For all Chinese brands). If Chinese manufacturers are still doing business as OEM to US brands, then it would be ok for US. This is original sin how Chinese can dare to sell products by their own brand. US is now the biggest block stone to prevent the human progress
thank you kyle. we are just so fucking late to this. we should’ve already have tesla fsd like systems from every company but we don’t and it doesn’t look like we will have. china is just so far ahead
Nope, they are just made a really inefficiently compared to the ones in China, and in China at the moment most EV makers are selling their cars at a (small) loss because of the really competitive market. Do I, as a European, really want one of these really modern Chinese cars at the same prices they get them in China? Sure as hell I do, but for now at least we have to deal with tariffs and also they want to try and make a profit overseas since they can't domestically. But companies like VW or Ford can't at the moment make EVs cheap enough, they really don't even sell them at a profit, but they must sell them anyway to not get penalty emission taxes.
What a great showcase of the Chinese self-driving tech. I appreciate the conversations as well. I wonder how (long term) Tesla’s vision only approach will fare vs the LiDAR plus vision approach.

Exactly.

The USA enforced free trade to contain the development of other nations, now it wants tariffs for the same goal.
Having been to China countless times and experiencing how people drive there, this FSD is amazing

As someone who doesn't live in either China or the US, I expect to see Chinese cars with advanced driver assistance here long before it's available on Tesla. Currently I drive a chinese manufactured car (Polestar 2) which is amazing, but I expect to update it in a couple more years and really look forward to what I can get then...
dont be confused that this is huawei tech of fsd, and some other companies have also fsd tech there
they drive the car like they did with a bicycle everyone shares and mingles... pretty cool and the autonomous driving is awesome
Gobsmacked.

@@JamesBond-qv2ht I don't think Tesla's FSD can do better in Chinese road conditions.

Today, I saw a BYD car for 6,800 yuan. Do you think it's cost-effective? This price really crushes foreign cars in our domestic market.
They make better cars than Europe and America, this is from the Ford CEO who came back from a recent in China who was shocked by what he saw.
中国有句话叫:一分钱一分货
The same manufacturer produces different quality products, and the China factory prefers Japanese importers, who demand higher quality with higher quotations. Consumers believe in these high-quality "Japanese products" and are willing to pay more. There is a true story that many Chinese people travel to Japan, spend more than 10 times the price of rice cookers and toilets, and struggle to move home. Finally, it was found that these manufacturers were from Ningbo, Zhejiang Province, in their hometown.😂
I'm even more impressed that it knows when the lights are switching

The turn signal can be adjusted, for example, when navigating to a certain intersection, the headlights can automatically turn on, and when switching to another lane, the turn signal will automatically turn on

This is surreal. It's leagues ahead. Puts the current FSD version to shame. Both software and hardware.
Man you Are dumb 😂
On one side you had the camera saying it was a truck on it's side, on the other side the radar was saying it was only a highway sign
Which one do you trust?
Yes lidar and radar are great, but you can't trust lidar in bad weather (so that makes one sensor that useless) and radar isn't accurate enough (you can't have military grade radar on regular cars lmao)
On top of that, there have been reports of smartphone cameras getting destroyed by lidar.

I've known that the FSD systems in China were really good. Close to Tesla in the USA. But this is, dare I say it... better? The fact that Kai can pay virtually no attention at all [perhaps none?] is a major jump forward, and as Kai says, it does the difficult things well. There's a surety about it that is amazing. The regional or different cultures can be adapted to. And this is Huawei, so it can go in any sufficiently equipped car. I'm convinced. This could be the yardstick by which every other system is measured. Great video.

I doubt China has those issues

Waooo, great video. They are ahead for sure, FSD 13 cannot do that, we are still waiting for unpark for HW3 and on my HW4 I still have to intervene a lot

Thanks Kyle for the channel continuing to bring true EV technology news to US people. We would never improve our products if we don't introduce competition. Really sorry for how politics are getting in the way of letting their citizens enjoy affordable but high tech products. It is like government against their consumers to protect the big corps.
So, China is winning the AI battles for both self-driving and large language -- at lower cost.
The current admin n the US is going into protectionism mode and tariff the rest of the world so products that are actually superior to what is made domestically will be priced totally out of the market. Musk backed himself into a corner with his cost cutting measures, vision only being one of them, and he certainly doesn't want another system available that proves his approach is wrong. - just my opinion.
China is good at copying and then making and taking over. MUSK should get FSD working quickly. LIDAR is not expensive, yet Musk is bent on making higher profit. I'm going to look more carefully on the Tesla shares I own.
copy from what? like dogshit FSD? there is no such radar+Vision self-driving solution in US. . come on, this stereotype make us weaker
No, China is not winning. American chatGPT is much better. DeepSeek copied from. Self driving has been happening on Tesla for quite a while. Tesla is copying the idea. The display on the car is copied from Tesla.
I didn’t know there is something as competitive as Tesla FSD 😮 this is groundbreaking wow.
Huawei and xpeng both have great systems
The heck with the charging video, this is the one that blows my mind
American politicians will call these Chinese cars National Security Threats…so we have no chance to having them here 😢😢😢. Politics sucks.
This is a light years ahead of tesla. I would trust this system over tesla
Deepseek will be the next to be banned, but how can they ban something that's open source?
The real reason US and it's EU ally ban Huawei is not for so called "national security" but "competition", or impact China economy cause Huawei touches their cake in Telco, Smart phone and Vehicle (For all Chinese brands). If Chinese manufacturers are still doing business as OEM to US brands, then it would be ok for US.
This is original sin how Chinese can dare to sell products by their own brand.
US is now the biggest block stone to prevent the human progress
@@horuscheng3476 ask italy
US govt banned every Chinese brand whenever they became a market leader of its sector. Huawei, DJI, TikTok, heavy ship building equipment ...
US gov: if I can’t compete with you, I’ll ban you 😂😂😂
Sick wheels! Thanks for your detailed China coverage, Kyle.
1at time I am seeing Kyle speaking less. The driver is very clwell educated and knowledgeable.
😂😆
He’s an ADAS developer
thank you kyle. we are just so fucking late to this. we should’ve already have tesla fsd like systems from every company but we don’t and it doesn’t look like we will have. china is just so far ahead

actually, it is the data from Chinese local map app. Camera is not able to see this far~

See elon, this is how you're supposed to design FSD.
Not like normal Americans Elon surely knows it
I would have only been more impressed if the German was smoking a cigarette... He was that reassuring.
Usa and europe consumers are being defrauded, the real price of usa and European car's that are sold for 70k are really made for 13k
@@Kurouzzznot really!! most companies are now making money (in profits), except nio almost all are making money
Tytyty for ur time Kyle jam packed w/quality information.Video is a gem
This kind of driving assist is cheap or FREE in China, while FSD charges you $99 per month
This is the best in the WORLD!
What a great showcase of the Chinese self-driving tech. I appreciate the conversations as well. I wonder how (long term) Tesla’s vision only approach will fare vs the LiDAR plus vision approach.

I like that it's able to signal and handle a merge, much better the FSD, which does not even signal, just moves over.
You can try the night cockpit lighting effect of Avatr 07, the smart headlights and seats of AITO M9.
They are all Huawei's cockpit systems
