  • On my way north on MN-23, I see a fast-moving BNSF train, as well as several old switcher locomotives along co-op siding.

Very nice catch, and nice for you to visit my stomping grounds lol.
Yeah Jasper has some interesting switching power.. the ex-CR switcher, and the ex-UP SD45T-2. Used to be a Southern Pacific unit. Prior to the 45T's arrival, they used to have a ATSF GP35 as a switcher.
The Cargill 606 is a SD35R, a rebuilt SD35. Number 103 was part of a RR based in Texas, no idea how it ended up here, but been here as long as I can remember..
You should have continued up north more to Ruthon, Cargill there has a ex-BN SD40-2 as a switcher, along with a long dead CF7 unit.
Speed limit on the marshall sub is 45 mph too btw.
If you ever get around the Sioux Falls area, keep your eyes open.. GP60M number 100 been leading freight lately along with a couple B40-8W's.

Yeah, I had seen on rrpicturearchives that there was a Santa Fe at one point. The 103 seems to have been in the area since at least the 90's. I did see a locomotive in the distance when passing by Ruthon, but the party was tired of seeing trains for that day, and wanted to go home, so its on my list of places to get back to. Thanks for the info!
