This fixed my ink smudge problem. Thank you for posting this straight-forward tutorial. The only thing I did differently was use no water/or alcohol to clean it. Out of fear that it made damage my printer.
Great video. Cured my issue with "dots" on every page. One of the best "inventions" ever is the "UA-cam Self-Help Video." They have helped so many people. This is a prime example. Thank you very much.
Welcome onboard, hope you will find some future content useful. For info, there is no plan or theme on the channel, just exploring the world as I empty my house...
This improved the black bands at each side of the paper, but did not eliminate them entirely. Do you have any idea what else I could try? Thanks in advance!
Okay this is great! Only problem: I do not have an inkjet. My printer is inktank and its doing these black dots and smudges, any idea how I can fix it in an inktank printer? It would be great help😣
The printer in the video is a laser printer using powder toner, not an inkjet. For any printers having black dots and smudges, make sure the printer rollers are cleaned using appropriate cleaning product (see your printer manual for recommendations)
This worked on my Canon ImageClass MF741Cdw except that I had to squeeze open the hinged mechanism slightly on the toner cardridge to get the green drum to advance. It seems like the off brand cartridge manufacturer may have overfilled the toner powder, but this isn't my expertise. I'm certainly not selling my organs so that I can afford Canon toner, so I guess this is my penance for buying cheap(er) toner.

Happy to see it helped and happy to see people fixing their own stuff. Thanks for the feedback, good stuff!
The quotes make it sound sarcastic.
@@danielhurley2894 you really didn't have to reply. Sorry for troubling you
@@TheLabOtomy Does it have to be 99% rubbing alcohol or can it be Rexall 91%?
@@jeremyzeigler1565Not familiar with Rexall 91% and its composition so cannot comment

Excellent, my second video and your 2 for 2. I'm not patient with folks who ramble on. Liked and sub'd. Thanks

Residue on any other rolls?
I had a black band where I hadn't returned the "snapper reset tab" to the right place once...you can try cleaning it again...

Happy to read that with a little ingenuity you did not have to sell any organs. Well done :)
Amazing
Absolutely
great video
Thanks!
More ink just appears every time. I've tried everything. The roller marks always recur.
At first I thought it's my printer problem. So replacing the toner cartridge with a new one will solve the problem right?
Depends on what the problem is
how many q-tips went into the cleaning?
From memory, 3 to 4 (using both ends)
Still occur dots after cleaning 😢
No videos on UA-cam has addressed MY printer problem. Huge nasty black patches on whole printed paper! Tried all these "fixes". Non works!
Sorry that did not help. What type of printer do you have?
I thought you couldn't expose these components to light, otherwise you would damage them???
Nope
he smeared the ink there on purpose lmao
You know so much...
