Ha! The Music Machine?! Wow ... I had that and Bullfrogs and Butterflies on cassette tape as a kid. I randomly still have "Have patience, have patience, don't be in such a hurry. When you get impatient you only start to worry" go around in my head lol.

I love the artwork on that Music Machine cover with its cartoonish steampunk look. I don't know a lot about the history of steampunk art, but 1977 puts it before the mid '80s, when steampunk really became a thing.

Ah, the Music Machine. I managed to find that along with Bullfrogs & Butterflies, Sir Oliver’s Song, and Nathaniel the Grublet, all with the comic books intact. My daughter loves them, along with some Psalty’s Kids Praise! albums.

Jeff Wayne's War of the Worlds is fantastic. I have it on vinyl and it's worth listening to.

Yes, it's really fantastic and I have it both on vinyl as a double-LP set as well as on a 2-CD set.

4:27 now THAT'S a great album! Would love to pick up more of her works. After this particular album no longer named Walter Carlos, but Wendy Carlos.

Bing Crosby first sang "White Christmas" in a movie titled "Holiday Inn" which predated the movie "White Christmas" by at least 4 or 5 years. Rosemary Clooney was one of his co-stars in "Holiday Inn."

Great record shop. You flicked through some of my record collection right there. The Beatles Abbey Road, The Moody Blues Days of Future Past, Humble Pie, Performance, Rocking the Fillmore and West Side Story. I think I want that Bing album, Can't have Christmas without Bing. We've got both Holiday Inn and White Christmas on DVD and I've got Bing and the Andrews Sisters on 78 and vinyl. ....Or any one of the Glen Miller albums. (Mind I've got 4 Glen Miller already)🙂.

Hi, I really enjoyed your video. It was a blast of the past for me. Great pickups. I would have picked up A Charlie Brown Christmas and The Great Songs Of Christmas, Album two as I feel that that Christmas album is one of the best Christmas records in my collection. Enjoy your vinyl,

You just found two of my boxed sets of Christmas music. One from Reader's Digest circa mid-70's, and one of The Mormon Tabernacle Choir of about the same time frame. The Reader's Digest cover was mostly red, and the MTC cover was kind of a brassy gold.

5:23 I have 'The Story of Star Wars' LP and I have one unsealed album, one sealed album, and one sealed picture disc version of the album. It was narrated by Roscoe Lee Browne and it has the original music, dialogue, and sound effects of the movie. I bought the albums about 20 or more years ago for $10 to $20 each, so it blows my mind to see it priced at $79 now. :)

I would have grabbed that Queensryche "Operation: Mindcrime" for sure. It's considered one of the greatest progressive metal albums of all time. And for sentimental reasons, I would have grabbed that Watership Down soundtrack. It's probably my favorite book ever.

Great stuff record Ology! I hope you had a chance to visit half price books and records. Lots of great values there. Also, the antique malls I told you about most of them located on the south side of Houston and some of the south west. I had a question for you when you get a moment to answer, I want to know if the Victrola respin has a magnetic cartridge or not? OK have fun in Houston. Stay safe and welcome to our city.

4:05 I've mentioned the TAS List or TAS Super LP List before and TAS stands for "The Absolute Sound" which is an online magazine devoted to albums with incredible sound. So, when Record-ology was flipping through the record bins, some albums that were seen in this video that are on the TAS List are:
    - 'John Wesley Harding' by Bob Dylan
    - 'Aja' by Steely Dan
    - 'West Side Story' movie soundtrack by Leonard Bernstein
    - 'Tea for the Tillerman' by Cat Stevens
    - 'Synchronicity' by The Police
    - 'The Wall' by Pink Floyd
The beauty is one doesn't have to buy a new release or a pricey Mobile Fidelity Sound Labs release because the TAS Super LP List includes the original releases too if they had very natural and/or dynamic sound quality and performances.

I would first find out if they had any shellac because that's where a lot of the Really interesting stuff would be.
Otherwise I would paw through the classical and import bins.
Just yesterday at a Goodwill I picked up a 'replacement' copy of a 78 my mom had that got broken nearly 60 years ago.

I noticed a Rick Wakenan LP. Haven't heard anything of his in years. I would've loved to pick that one up. On the flip side, I didn't see any Edgar Winter music, which would be an excellent counterpoint to the sound of Rick Wakeman. Yet they both would complement each other at the same time. (Sort of like another Peggy Lee/Petula Clark thing, as I've mentioned earlier. Just a perfect pairing in every way.)

One LP or CD I've been looking for is a soundtrack from a very ridiculous movie known as Xanadu. The only reasons to watch the movie are Olivia Newton John and Gene Kelly. But oh, that absolutely wonderful (dare I say kickass?) soundtrack!!!!!

7:44 Lots of great soundtracks there (many of which I own) and Jeff Wayne's musical version of 'The War of the Worlds' is a great double-LP set which is also narrated by legendary actor Richard Burton. Some of the album's best songs include:
    - 'The Eve of War'
    - 'Thunder Child'
    - 'Forever Autumn'
    - 'Brave New World'

Pretty cool you were there. Ii live about 10 mins from this shop and for me they are way over priced. Owners are great. The place is pleasant enough but it's the prices that are too much for me. Then again I buy records I like and like to listen to. I don't buy things just to add to my collection.
