So let’s finally solve the truth behind Jumanji’s origins as the sequel loads us down with evidence and clues that are easy to put together if you put your mind to it.

In the books Zathura IS Jumanji. The final scene in Jumanji is the first scene of Zathura. Danny and Walter Budwing dis jungle games so it becomes a space game.

Nah probably they were the creator of jumanji
Or they were the creator's brothers
The creator is probably evil, no wonder jumanji was in great danger all the time
And the gems are taken by the bad guys
It means there is a possible chance that when you gave the NPC gem that is used to beat the game, was given back to the creator then the creator makes a new level and wait for his/her victims

Wait, Van Pelt Said he wanted to kill Sara (in the first movie) but wouldn't because, according to him, "you didn't role the dice, Alan did!" meaning his fate is connected because Alan landed on the space & Van Pelt is forced by the game to terrorize the person who rolled on the space (despite the movie forgetting this with the animals destroying town). In Jumanji 1 their rolls effect their fates.

    • @daniellebranca8177

Yeah it does. The brother was turned into a money because he cheated when he rolled the dice.

    • @MrKenichi22
      @MrKenichi22 6 років тому +1

      Danielle Branca Into a monkey?
Right, Plus he cheated by shaking the board (as I recall he tried to shake the closed box or something so Peter “the brother” would have rolled a 12) He was cheating the game, so as punishment, the game cursed him turning him to a monkey.
I don’t know if Van Pelt is cursed in the game yet Van Pelt was one of the sentient NPCs as He was hunting the person whom landed on his space, Alan.
But the Sequel-may have changed that.

You know what blew my mind after watching the film? The fact that the kids make it back out alive into an alternate timeline where Alex never went into the game. Yes, that's pretty much similar to how the first movie ended, but the kids still have their memories and recognize him. So when the game was finished and Alan Parrish and Sarah Whittle were both brought back to when they first started the game, then how come the kids in the future don't recognize them when they meet up at the Christmas party? Essentially, if the kids in the second movie still had their memories of the game, how come the kids in the first movie don't despite also playing the game?
I feel like this might be related to how the Jewel/Board game/cartridge may have different rules based on what form it takes, but I'm not too sure.
Also, you didn't point it out, but the fact that there are motorcycles in the jungle are strange. But then I remembered that Alex was playing a video game that had motorcycles in it. What I believe happened here, is that the board game possessed the game Alex was playing and somehow mixed the lore of both of the games' worlds. I may have missed an important detail so that might be wrong. I didn't even realize that Van Pelt from the first movie was that motorcycle gang leader until I watched this video, this relates to how you mentioned that his body is being possessed (or possessing someone) in the video game.
Those are just my thoughts to add to this, can't wait for the follow up theory for when you get to analyze the fiml even further. :D

    • @Frostyflytrap
      @Frostyflytrap 6 років тому +7

I think I just figured out how the kids from the first movie would have no memory of Alan and Sarah playing the game. The only way the ending of the first movie would make sense (in the context of the second movie) is if the ending took place before the exact time when the events of the movie were to happen. And it in fact does! The kids' parents haven't yet gone on their skiing trip which means the Christmas party must take place a few months before Judy and Peter lost their parents in the alternate timeline. Which means the memories they had from playing the game would only come back to them a few months after the events of the movie's ending.

    • @thejuniorseas7683
      @thejuniorseas7683 6 років тому +6

Frostyflytrap In the first movie, Alan is the one who wins the game. The game, being sentient, knows this and restores the timeline back to 12 year-old Alan and Sarah at Parish Manor. Judy and Peter aren't born then, and their parents don't go on the ski trip. The timeline is altered.
In the second movie, all five characters win the game and call out Jumangi. Thus, restoring each character to their individual timeline. Alex has the memory of Spencer, Fridge, Bethany and Martha and then vice versa. The timeline remains with each character having memory of the game.
With the jewel changing itself from a board game to a videogame, it had to change the rules on how the game could be won.
      That's my theory.

The movie doesn't take place in 1996; it _starts_ in 1996. The four kids find it _twenty years_ later. And you're right about the ending; there was an alternate ending in which, after they smash the cartridge, the game shows up as a game app on someone's phone.

mini theory idea: what movies has both stone jaguars and jewels in a far away land?
    Answer: Aladdin
what if the jugular in Aladdin is the same one as the one in this movie and it could give a bit of a back story about the curse jewel
maybe that is why the jaguar in Aladdin told Aladdin not to touch anything because he knew this curse would land somewhere and keep spreading

Maybe The Jewel, doesn't need to be Destroyed.
But Returned to its place of Origin.
Whether it is done in the game, or outside of the game.
So in a way, it would be like sentient Jewel that is Homesick.
Same in relation to Zathura when you get to it.
1st Jumanji took place also in a Home, as did Zathura.
    can't deny that connection.
Just like someone being homesick, they will want to come back Home.
    2nd taking place in a school, learning-Safaris & expeditions.
So it gives more depth around what happend to the Jewel of where it left, basically educating the players.

I believe that the Jaguar stone isn’t from Africa but is from South America because of its name the jaguar stone there are no jaguars in Africa however there are in S. America. I believe that the stone was made by the Aztecs (specifically the Aztecs because there society was build around the jaguar god) to curse/protect there riches and Pelt looking for big game stumbled across it and took it with him back to Africa (specifically Africa because that’s the place to be if your a big game hunter) then the curse began the gem combined both SA and Africa (SA environment there is no tropical rainforests in Africa and Africa’s wild life because there aren’t any of those animals in SA) then Pelt was sucked into this pocket universe leaving the stone behind and then the stone morphed into a board game to be more appealing to younger victims. Tell me what you think.

during a certain time in the 1800’s called the war for Africa the a group of British soldiers were hanging out with people from a tribe somewhere in Africa and they became good friends and played a game called jumanji, however one day soldiers mistook a hunting party for a scouting party and killed them.
The villagers retaliated and attacked the soldiers, but with the British having superior weapons they killed all of the villagers with the shaman still alive but one of the soldiers (i don’t know his name but i think his name was Arthur van pelt) heard him sneaking up on him and shot him.
The shaman crawled over to the game board and with his dying breath placed a curse on the board stating that whoever plays this game will experience the dark horrors of the African jungle, Arthur picked up the game board and left.
a month later reinforcements arrived at the fort where the british were staying only to find the fort destroyed and the only survivor was van pelt clutching the game board saying jumanji over and over again, when they tried to take the game away he refused to let go, so they took him back to england and placed him in an asylum.
2 years later he escaped and was never seen again.

Your theory about death in the game so the evil can escape is a good idea. Which is why finishing the game with all characters intact is important. And if Zathura is from the same universe then what is the evil that is trying to escape or take control from that game?
You have peaked my interest theorizer.

I had a theory that Nigel Billingsly is a secret bad guy of the Jumanji game. This theory is a little late. But just think it, the Kababik brothers were known by the enemy NPC's that they made a river flow again and became heros. Nigel is the man who finds people with different set of skills and sending them out. But, "why would he make the main players defeat the bad guys and get the jewel back to its place." Well as our friend Theorizer states, the jewel of the game is somewhat alive. And so, my new thought is that Nigel is the Jewel. Setting up a goal to make players play the game. And i thought. Ever since Alan Perish was stuck in the game. The Jewel fed off the sadness of how he felt with talking to his dad before he got stuck. Making Van Pelt. Theorizer does bring a good light on Pelt, him being a person who has anger at the jewel, so the Jewel feeds on that. And in the modern age, it took the role of a old school nintendo like system to make someone of the time play it to fix itself to torment Pelt even further. "Pelt isnt in Welcome to the Jungle" you may say. But what if after he dies as his character, he becomes a new character. Like Jurgen the Brutal?

Then I thought of this little theory: Maybe if someone Dies in the Game the Game Over isn't him taking control of their body and leaving BUT maybe it means they get trapped there too and like him become apart of the Board Game. They would have full control over the character they picked but would be in an endless loop with him since they would also be possessing the Game. And my cousin thought that maybe the Curse would be broken if ALL the Characters got Game Over and are possessed by real people. But I'm not sure since I've only seen it once =3

Van pelt doesnt have complete control. Recall jumanji 1 in the syper market when he has the chance to attack the others but not Allen ( Adam william’s) character, he refuses to harm the others because apparently “they didnt roll the dice”. This would suggest that even in the first game Van Pelt doesnt possess full control over his will.

I looked at a theory that there was a creator of the game and he made the game by hand painted it put the magnets in he even made the center piece, he showed it to all his felow villagers as kindness my man just wanted to be kind and share the board game with his fellow villagers but then their village was raided by van pelt he stole the center piece cover like the green cover covering the center van pelt took the jewel from the village chief and the creator of the hame was so close to dying he took the pieces of the game and he threw it into the fire hes started chanting and making a spell "from what i gave in kindness, i will forever take in revenge" and the little green light you see when you roll the dice and the center piece glows that's his soul he created the jewel he created the jaguar statue he created jumanji and all the characters in it he created the jungle a pocket dimension where you go in an infinite loop then the game is found by 2 hikers they play the game and then 1 of the hikers and the other one gets taken by an animal and in the first jumanji movie at the very start theres 2 kids that bury the game those 2 kids are the inheritors of the game they bury it but its found by alan after alan finishes the game he yeets it into the water in 2012 a father finds the game and gives it to his son alex vreeke he takes the game that suddenly became a game cartridge he plays the game and he becomes the missing child that went missing for 20 years then spencer martha bethany and fridge go inside the game and meet alex then in jumanji the final level (coming december 2024) they might have new characters thats stuff idk about but if you read this far ur a legend

Is anybody else confused about the years and stuff in the movie?
Alex got sucked into Jumanji in 1996, was there for 20 years. Which makes it 2016 - also the year the group of teenagers discovered the video game and got sucked in. However, the 'freak house' was completely damaged before they got in the game and Alex's father talks to Spencer at that time. When they leave Jumanji, Alex appears 40 (in 1996 he was a teenager, which makes him somewhere abouts 30/40) And his house is completely perfect and decorated, just like during 1996. Can someone explain!?

    • @Ultima-2000
      @Ultima-2000 6 років тому

Julia Kacala they changed the timeline. Since Alex was returned back to where he started, it was as if he never disappeared. So his dad and house never become weird and dead inside. The only reason I see the four teens being unaffected was that they were still within the game after Alex was freed. So they were immune to the timeline being changed.

Now the second movie is out... and I wonder if part of this is right. Not of Van Pelt being cursed into the game, but of the jewel and it's ties to nature (Apologise, this is a loooong one.)
The Jaguar Eye was connected to the animals, the Falcon's Heart was connected to the land's fertility (plants)... if a third film is made, this next jewel might be connected to the weather or maybe the land itself. What if Jumanji is a land that was cursed by the removal of three/four sacred objects connected to it's three/four main forces? Three/four evil rulers through time have come and taken the three sacred jewels from their rightful resting place and disrupted the balance of the land only so they could gain it's power. So the land brought a curse and put it in the form of a game that makes any player endure the horrors of this land when nature is not balanced.
In Welcome to the Jungle, animals are actively trying to kill the players.
In The Next Level, the land is working against the player. Like how Shelley Oberon suddenly gained all those disadvantages when in the desert.
Also explains why we left the jungle behind in that movie for the desert and the high barren snowy mountains.
What could that mean for the possible third film? What would a land where the weather is extreme and out of balance be? If it was a land that wasn't balanced, it would certainly be a volcanic area given how we had an earthquake in the original Jumanji.
    (then, a sudden revelation)
If the game has four sacred jewels... and four evil rulers.... we've already met two of them: Van Pelt, and Jurgen. Who completes the quartet? The equally powerful leaders of the brothers who were mentioned in the film, yet never seen. And one brother was said to have lost his.... man bits in a flood..... maybe those two hold the last two jewels of Jumanji, control over the land (volcanic) and the weather. They wanted the Falcon's heart because with it they could control the fertility of their land while the ravaged everywhere else for their own greed. And if a third film is crafted, they are the final bosses of the game, before the true curse of Jumanji is ended and the game has no purpose to exist.
Jumanji embodied it's curse as a game to lure in new players. It knew that it couldn't fix the mess the stealers of it's jewels had created, so it became a game to lure in players who might be smarter than them to beat them and end the curse. It was a game so it could last for generations, knowing that while a skilled savior of Jumanji might not exist in that time or place, it would travel through time being picked up and tried by new players until a group of players arrived that could beat the game. But there was a problem. The board game never had a real goal in mind to "fixing/ending" the curse, given that many old games would have the simple rule of "first person to reach the end wins," Jumanji just coughed up animals into the real world wherever the game was located or sucked people into the jungle to wait till they were freed by another players role. If the game had started with four players in the first game, Alan Parish might not have remained in the jungle for years. But it's curse as becoming a game, where an outsider has to right the wrong of the other outsiders (the theives who stole the jewels), made it adaptive as the curse would never be broken if people no longer wanted to play the game. So it became a vidoegame cartridge to adapt to the new time it found itself in. And this was perfect. Because before, games never had a narrative, they were just competition to reach the end first. But videogames had a narrative. They had characters, they had structure, they had an ending that could lead to the next challenge given the sequel aspect. So it became a videogame to entice Alex Vreek into playing, sense that if it didn't the curse would never be broken, and at the same time giving itself a way to finally end the curse. It explains why the next time the characters play the game, the whole narrative is completely new. No more jungle, no more animals being sent to specifically kill you, and no more Jaguar Eye jewel to return. It had already been returned to the statue. Jumanji gained more balance. So the game evolved with the new level to send the next players after the next jewel. It adapted the avatar's strengths and weaknesses, drawing on it's own memories from the times when the theives came from to populate the games storyline. So it could finally progress in ending the curse that may have been going on for well over two or three hundred years.

@@geraldcleveland6207 True point. Well I would say the jewels were made by one of the tribes of Africa who worked in voodoo magic. Kinda going off of the previous video that mostly looked at the events of the first Jumaji movie. How they were made, I suspect they were either large natural stones that were uncut and uncarved since looking at them, they don't seem to be carved into any shape or design. First victims... I suspect the people who stole them from their resting place, Van Pelt, Jurgen, and the brothers. All cursed by the gems they stole, and the bosses the players need to beat

I assumed that the game just made the return the jewel as part of the quest it manufactured.(The typical adventure video game story). While in the movie I did find it hard to swallow that Jumanji was self-aware enough to just change itself to a video game, but I rolled with it. I thought everything inside Jumanji were all creations of that world and it just reshaped it self to play more like a video game. A game that it was mimicking/copying elements from the video game in 1996. I never saw Van Pellt being another victim of the game, but one of its creations. I know in the first Jumanji he and Allen Perrish had a history, but Van Pellt did say he was after Allen because he rolled him( I think he said something like that.) Which made me think that he was part of the game as well. But that theory you got sounds plausible as well. That's a good one to think about. I never put two and two together that the jewel represented the center piece of the board game Jumanji.

Wow! The movie then does a really good job of fleshing out Jumanji's mythology and nicely sets up for sequels. I'm guessing next time Jumanji and possibly even Zathura will morph into online games in a server that will then be able to suck just about everyone that plays it on whatever device be it a game, console, laptop or mobile.
So the real gem or artifacts will then have to be found in the real world while beating the games as well.

If Van Pelt controls Jumanji...then does that mean the older Walter Budwig controls Zathura? Think about it, if Van Pelt became a character in Jumanji, then older walter may have became a character (the astronaut) when he wished his Danny away, he knows he's in a game when he says: "Which one of you spun me?" and he states how he passed through a wormhole to get to the current Danny and Walter universe. And how he knows so much about the game and how it works and the creatures in it like the Zorgons.

If you look very closely at the end after they put the jewel back in the eye you get an overview of jumanji and it shows the pathways that are in the same formation as the board game would of looked like. With the jaguar in the middle. Showing how your theory could've worked if the whole thing was the jewel the whole thing being the board game itself. Just in a different form.

The Theorizer I wanted to look deeper in to the cartoon series just in case and I found a compilation video of Van Pelt from and the most interesting thing I found was that Van Pelt said "Jumanji is not a game" and "Jumanji always needs a Van Pelt if you kill me you will take my place". There is also a tribe in the series too. Hope you found this helpful

If people could actually get sucked into Jumanji and my school had the Jumanji game somewhere hidden in the classroom, I would beg the teachers for a detention everyday 😂

@thetheorizer This helps prove some of your theory, this is some symbolism that jaguars are known for.
As for the mythology and legends, the jaguar was seen as a god in Peru, Mexico, and Guatemala, in pre-Columbian America. The Mayans, Aztecs, and Inca all worshiped the jaguar in some form.
In Mayan mythology, the jaguar was seen as the ruler of the Underworld, and as such, a symbol of the NIGHT SUN AND DARKNESS.
However, they are also associated with vision, which means both their ability to see during the night and to look into the dark parts of the HUMAN HEART. THE JAGUAR OFTEN WARNS OF DISASTER, HE DOES NOT OFFER ANY REASSURANCE. We have seen the eye call to those who best serve it ( kids who play the game), jaguars are known for darkness, what if it called to Van pelt, sensing his darkness and exploiting it and using the evil soul to give itself life.
